The barista was very friendly and as a casual coffee drinker, I was satisfied with my coffee choice. I honestly, wouldnt be able to tell you the difference between good coffee and bad coffee.. This is an interesting coffee shop due to its affiliation with the perfume store next door. It's easy to miss because it's discrete, but that what I love most about it. You avoid the crowds to normally endure at nearby coffee shops. I like the ledge against the window that faces the street. Another thing I like about this particular coffee shop is the sizes. They sell hot coffee in an 8 oz cup. Weird for me to say this, but I'm noticing so many places start off with 12 oz. Which is perfectly acceptable for a latte, iced coffee or cold brew. I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at this store was nothing short of appalling. I visited to refill my bottle, something I've done before without issue. However, the store associate told me they could not honor the refill discount because I had removed the old label. When I pointed out that my bottle is engraved with "Le Labo" and still contained a small amount of the original fragrance, I was told that they "didn't know where I got it" and that the missing label made it ineligible for a refill. They asked if had a receipt. While i was looked for the receipt the manager got involved, and the situation quickly escalated. Instead of handling the issue professionally, she became confrontational and dismissive. She stated that even if I provided a receipt, they still wouldn't honor the discount. When I explained that I removed the old label because, during my last refill, they placed the new label over it and it looked sloppy so me being type A I removed it so I would encounter that issue again, she refused to acknowledge my concern and insisted, "That's how we do it." Rather than offering a solution or politely explaining the store policy, she continued to belittle me in front of other customers. I was publicly humiliated over something as trivial as a label--despite my bottle being clearly identifiable and still containing Le Labo fragrance. To make matters worse, as I was leaving, she even told me never to return to the store. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable--especially from a brand that prides itself on exclusivity and craftsmanship. Been to this location twice , I only really like one scent from them because for some odd reason everything else is so pungent on me ? Idk maybe my body chemistry doesn't mesh well with the accords in the scents or I've been unknowingly cursed by a scent wizard. This review is for the cafe behind the store. The coffee is a lil mediocre in taste, if I'm being honest. Flavor is not robust and the oat milk they've chosen doesn't foam well (common issue, but would have expected slightly better curation from Le Labo.) But the vibes are what elicit a 4/5 star review. This NYer doesn't like conversation before caffeinating, but the workers hit that rare mix of friendly but not annoying... which is especially challenging to find among baristas, oddly. And the lingering Le Labo scents under the coffee notes, the interior aesthetic is just what a tired brain needs. First time shopping here and I have to say they have some amazing smelling fragrances, everything is mixed on premise while you wait. When you walk in my first impression is how organized and clean everything was, plenty of samples to smell or try on. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, they gave told me that I was able to add a little customization to the label of whatever fragrance I was buying and I thought that was pretty cool. I ended up buying Santal 33 and the Matcha 26 at first, I sampled Another 13 and didn't realize how good it smelled until I was back in the car and my friend told me that it smelled really good so I ended running right back and picking up a small bottle of that as well. I definitely will be heading back there for more I'm glad I stopped by and everyone working there made it a great experience too! read more

This was the most unpleasant experience I have had shopping with this brand. Being a customer for over ten years I have always had amazing and kind experiences. I have also shopped in many places. I can in to the BK location to get some small size products for the trip im on. When I entered I was sub greeting with a "hey". After I left I was shaken and confused. I when back in and returned the product and now am going to Manhattan to shop at that store. When I came back to return he had the audacity to mockingly say " o did I offend you or something.." I said what gave it away? Douchey customer service. They didn't tell me there's a no return/exchange policy so when I went to return something, the try-hard hipster obnoxiously pointed to a small piece of paper at the end of the counter which had, in conveniently small print, a no refund policy. I asked why they didn't warn me or point that out when I purchased and the clerk said "yea, I mean maybe that should be part of the conversation at some point" but also didn't acknowledge that it was super shady business. All in all, overpriced, but the worst part is dealing with the worst of Williamsburg stereotype, AKA an overly made-up man (see: manicured and covered in beard oil), in a trendy (?) set of overalls. I bought a very ambiguous smelling candle for my wife on Mother's Day. There weren't a lot of options and, to me, half were smokey/musty and half were soapy. Turns out she didn't like the one I bought at all and that didn't surprise me since the options were limited but I thought she would like it because of the brand. When I went to return it I was quickly shut down. I would have liked to exchange the candle but that wasn't an option. It turns out when they print out their "personalized" label (that's just the date they sold it to you), it's a death sentence and you're stuck with your well intended, but awful decision. The shop was smaller than I had remembered. We ordered coffee and the barista asked almond or oat, so then I realized it was a vegan cafe. It was a small side cafe but she was really nice. I always wanted to try Le Labo, and always loved the way it smelled on my friends. Today was the day I said f#k it! Left work early, and made my way to this dope location in Williamsburg. I was greeted when I walked in, and felt very comfortable. They weren't condecending nor douchey like the others mentioned. Juan was the gentleman that helped me. He was very informative and patient. I told him the notes that I typically go for, and he knocked it out of the park with his first pick. Customer service is severely lacking in this place. Also, the candle I bought here wasn't poured right (the wick is off-center) so it burns unevenly. I've tried to fix it but it's nearly impossible with an off center wick. The label has wrinkles too. Overall they did a rushed/half assed job. I expect a lot more from an $80 candle. read more

Today I had the pleasure of being at the shop I came in to purchase a bottle of Santal 33 which smelled amazing on a friend, I sprayed a sample on me and purchased a full bottle. About 10 minutes after leaving the shop I notice the fragrance was extremely peppery. I returned 15 minutes after my purchase and asked to exchange for another 13 fragrance. The store manager said " unfortunately I can't help you because all purchases are final sale " I then made a call to the HQ office and they were able to accommodate me. When I returned to the store the manager said " I thought I was suppose to call you back " he then gave me a 10 minute speech on why I need to be sure about my purchase and that he could never extend an exchange again. They kept talking so I walked away and went to tell my boyfriend that I think it's rude how we weren't greeted. Then a Caucasian couple walked in the store and the two employees at the desk lifted their heads to acknowledge them and they said Hi. When I seen that I told my boyfriend let's go I am not spending my money here. As we were walking out a black couple walked inside and I stopped to look back and see if they would be acknowledged or greeted, and guess what..... they were not. In the search for cruelty free and natural fragrances I came across Le Labo on the internet and was happy to find that the reviews for the brand was overwhelming positive. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and finally smell some of their fragrances. There is a wide range of products available from hair, skin and body care products, but the main attraction is their fragrances all of which are at your disposal to spray and try on. I went along smelling different fragrances and was approached by Jessie who was absolutely amazing! He went through some history of the brand and the process of making a fragrance. He gave me a tour of the store and helped to pinpoint notes within the fragrances. All the fragrances are made on site. They customize the label which is especially nice if gifting the items. There is something for everyone at Le Labo and even though some notes overlap no fragrances are identical. I love how they stress having a connection to the scents and really remembering a time or feeling. The fragrances are on the higher end side (I didn't end up picking up anything but would like to in the near future) but if you bring in your bottle after finishing it, there is a 20% discount if you refill the bottle which is awesome since it's an eco friendly brand as well. read more

Pretty solid, kind of very weird spot in Williamsburg. Its in the back of what I assume is some kind of apothecary skin care place but it's hands down the coolest looking interior of a shop. The barista was the only person back in the coffee shop and was a little short but not overly rude. Cappuccino was good, if not the best we had in town.
