This place has a lot of authentic Japanese goods in the heart of St. Marks where many Japanese goods and food are at. Some of the stuff is somewhat pricey but you can get whitening cream or whitening gel by Kose in this place for $8.00, which is pretty affordable. I bought the gel and it smells really good. It is a faint subtle flowery smell. This place also has a large selection of authentic Japanese makeup and household and personal hygiene products mostly for women to buy. I also bought a mini hello kitty chain which was kind of expensive. It was close to $20 which was too much though. I couldn't resist the urge to get it because it was so fluffy and furry! It had a cute face too so I had to get it.

Great diversity of high end makeup, cleansing foams and emulsions. Super clean, not as crazy crowded as Teso's close by. So much better than hoping for the best with Amazon!

Really cute shop for Japanese beauty and personal care products. Everything is well organized, brightly lit, and clean. Some of the makeup products even have testers available, which was nice for some makeup I was on the fence about. I also love the little paper shopping bag they give you! The pricing is also pretty reasonable for imported items. For the makeup I was looking at, it was at least cheaper than Amazon. Only downside is that there aren't many English translations on the product labels, so it's harder to mindlessly browse without a staff member helping you. Some stuff is straightforward (makeup, sunscreen) but other items are pretty mysterious LOL. The staff is very friendly and approachable, so it's not a major problem.

Transaction went through but did not receive anything. Business owner insisted that I haven't paid and wanted to charge me twice!

‼Beware of this dishonest business establishment ‼ On Monday, July 31, around 8 pm, I checked out with a few items totaling $104.56. The transaction went through immediately, but I never received the products; the business owner said not until I pay for it "again." The moment the transaction went through with an "approved" notification popping up on my phone, the business owner told me their system was down; they insisted that the transaction didn't go through (despite showing them the proof) and that I must pay for the products "again" in order to hold on to what I had already paid for. When I questioned their request about paying for the products "twice," they told me "I" will need to contact them for a refund if both transactions are successful. They chose not to trust their customers and asked their customers to take all the risks for them and spend all the time/effort for them. I stood there confused, helpless, and traumatized by their actions. Two days later, on August 2, the statement was posted on my account. The transaction went through and I did not have the products. I just spent another 30 minutes on a recorded line with the credit card company to beg for a refund from them. For anyone who's reading this, if you have any other better ideas to report business like this, please contact me! Thank you. I hope there won't be another victim like me. You should not support this kind of business either. PS. After investigating, Reiwatakiya, KOSUMOSU, Shibuyala all have the same owner at the same location, just different names.

Fun new Japanese skincare and cosmetics store in the east Village. Many of the products are in Japanese so you may need some assistance from the staff. However they have a good range of products and I love the Kawaii style of the store.

I walked into a space that covers a lot of ground, from snacks and drinks to beauty products, home goods, and collectibles, and the density of what is on display makes it easy to spend more time browsing than I planned. The snack selection is the strongest draw and covers an impressive range. I saw Asian versions of familiar American snacks sitting alongside Japanese and Korean originals, and the drink section downstairs is broad enough that finding something I have not tried before is a near certainty. The variety of drinks, many with anime or character branding, reflects a buying approach that goes beyond the standard convenience store selection. The beauty and skincare section upstairs is well stocked with Korean and Japanese brands that are not widely available at American drugstores. I browsed through everything from face wash to sheet masks and specialty treatments, and the prices are competitive for imported products of this type. Blind boxes occupy their own significant section, and the selection across different series is one of the better in the city, with reasonable pricing relative to what the same items cost at specialty toy stores. Home goods, toys, collectibles, and kawaii accessories fill the remaining floor space. For a one stop shop for Korean and Japanese lifestyle goods, snacks, and beauty products in Koreatown, TESO Life delivers a broad and browsable experience that rewards repeat visits.

I want to report that this website continues to post and promote products that are clearly a scam…read more In my case, I placed an order for body creams on March 3rd, and the company that processed the charge on my account was a completely different one called MELIO. Right after they charged me, the order was canceled with the excuse that I had requested the cancellation, which is absolutely false. I never canceled anything. Since then, my money has been in dispute because: The company does not respond to emails. They only send automated messages saying someone will get in touch with me, but no one ever does. Meanwhile, MELIO claims that they already sent the money to the seller and is now asking me to either pay again or provide my card number so they can try to charge me again. Absolutely not! This is robbery. I should not have to lose my money like this. And who is going to compensate me for the damage? This situation is unacceptable. I have already reported this case to: My credit card company The Better Business Bureau The appropriate authorities here in California These two companies are working together to scam people. I walked into a store that is essentially one large room, and the density of product on display meant navigating it during a busy period required some patience, but the selection within that compact space was broader than the size suggested. The Korean literature section covers both Korean language and English language editions across a range of genres, which makes it genuinely useful for anyone studying the language or looking for titles that are difficult to find at general bookstores in the city. I saw children's books in Korean, well stocked. The K pop side of the store covers albums, photocards, posters, keychains, stickers, and merchandise across a wide range of artists, with BTS having a particularly strong presence historically alongside newer groups. Pricing runs higher than what I would pay ordering online or finding the same items at a larger retailer, which is the standard trade off for a specialty shop in Manhattan. Album prices in particular can be steep, though sale events bring them down to more competitive territory. Individual accessory items like stickers and bookmarks are priced at a premium relative to their size, so going in with a sense of what I am willing to spend helps avoid sticker shock at the register. The store is a reliable stop for anyone looking for Korean books or K pop merchandise in a physical retail setting in New York, with the caveat that the pricing and the crowd level are both factors worth knowing about before I go.
