I was having difficulty ordering same day flowers on the website, so I called and left a message…read more Jenny called back in moments to let me know that she was out of town (posted on the website; I missed it) but gave me three local recommendations. That's a quality business owner from where I sit. And to boot, the selections on Jenny's page are way more diverse and interesting much less expensive than going through a funeral site or big box florists. Support your locals, folks.

I had a TERRIBLE experience here. Really it was one of the most astonishingly bad encounters I've…read morehad in a long time. My mom is ill and in the hospital, and though we thought she'd be released this afternoon that plan changed. I wanted to get her something because it's New Year's Eve. I saw that this shop was open until 1 p.m., which was great because I got there between 12:45-12:50 and planned to run in and grab a quick gift of some sort, definitely getting out of there before they closed up. Others have had a good experience so it seemed kismet. When I walked in the store the woman (I assume Jenny herself) was on the phone and she hung up quickly and I was hoping she could help me find something quickly. But when she came over she asked "how can I help you?" and after I explained the situation and that I wanted something small to take to my mom, she said that she was about to close and already had her car running outside and didn't have time to make something up. I hadn't alluded to that and didn't actually want to wait for her to make something up (both because I knew it was nearing their closing and because I wanted to get to the hospital to see my mom). She gestured to a plant that she had, but for many reasons I wouldn't get a plant for someone else. I thought maybe she'd have a gift item of some sort, perhaps not a floral item which would be fine. She told me that the florist at Advocate would probably have something. (I wasn't planning to stop and get something from their floral shop, which was good, because they were closed this day and the following). The whole time I was here I felt like I was intruding and that she couldn't wait to push me out the door. When have you ever been to a place where the employee (or in this case owner!) tells you that they have their car running outside?! That isn't meant to make people feel welcome or like you want to help them. I just don't even understand the point of her having been open her regular hours this day or even at all if she was on such a tight schedule. And she followed me out to take down her signs and stuff. I left empty handed, rebuffed by Jenny, and knowing that I'll never patronize this business nor could I ever recommend it to anyone given my experience.

Perhaps I am one of a few straight male who loves roses and flowers…read more This is a local shop down the street from me. It is not hard to miss- 5000 Lincoln Ave. They have a myriad of selections of flowers ranging from ECUADOR to places all over the world! They are very knowledgeable with their flowers/roses/ and their craft and presentation before they sell it is more than amazing ( the presentation!). Most people may say flowers are overrated, but nahh I disagree wholeheartedly, its the thought that counts. Providing these is just one part. How you proceed in delivering it is what matters! Now the flowers tell a story! Prices are fair, but that doesn't even matter because the thought, the gift is all within your creativity! That's priceless. The florist here knows that. Go check em out!

The delivery driver left the flowers in the apartment lobby without the gift note. My brother even texted back asking if the driver could leave them in the mail room since their building doesn't have a front desk, but instead they were left unattended in the lobby. Because there was no note identifying who they were for, someone ended up taking them. This completely defeated the purpose of sending a birthday gift. I'm very disappointed with the delivery service and won't be ordering from here again.
