Amazing macarons! We spent the weekend in Melbourne and Friday night we picked up some dulce de leche gelato and a 6 pack of macarons. The gelato was so good that my husband talked about it multiple times throughout the night. We ended up sharing all of the macarons later that evening. One was better than the next. Our favorites were the Sicilian pistachio and the cookie dough. After breakfast Saturday we returned to the shop to purchase 12 more macarons to take home with us. read more

This is a very cute pastry shop. The lady working there wasn't too friendly and I almost felt like I'm bothering her with my questions, and that's why I'm taking one star off. I would have gotten more things, but I really didn't feel like asking more questions about different pastries I wanted to try croissant with a filling for quite a while, so I was excited to see them available here. I asked what the fillings were and the way the lady answered, felt like I am bothering her. I had the same feeling while picking macaron flavors (we were the only customers at the shop). I did pick creme brulee croissant and 3 macarons, and I must say that everything was very fresh and very delicious. Just stopped by here and grabbed myself three pieces of liquor ganache chocolate and a chocolate croissant right out of the oven. The chocolates were fantastic with a smooth finish that dissolved in your mouth. However, the real star was the chocolate croissant. Warm, flaky, buttery with just the right amount of oozing warm chocolate. I haven't had a croissant this good in a while. This place is expensive but totally worth the extra buck. read more

This was my second time in this shop. Its a cute place. Free coffee with purchases. And they usually have a sample of a macaron to try. I purchased a box of six. Two coconut. Two belgian chocolate and two salted caramel. I also got a single hazelnut cream dark chocolate. They are $2.25/macaron or $12.50 for a box of six. There are larger box options as well. They were all really good. They are made like the ones in Paris with almonds not the american way. They also have gelato and well-made chocolates as well as some bakery items like croissant au chocolat. I would definitely go back to try other flavors. read more

This place is amazing! The Decor is A+ very pink and very girlie. They have tons of stuff for kids to look and books and magazines and a big box of dress up clothes. The gelato is out of this world. We tried the cookies and cream and the mint chocolate chip both were exceptionally creamy. We will definitely be back many many times. read more

I adore this place and absolutely love their macarons..amazing! My ex is from France and would bring ones from La Duree, which is supposed to be the place to get them in Paris. I actually think, Le Macaron is better! I'm told you have to eat them fresh, but I'm not buying it..lol. These are a traditional must try, salted caramel and rose. My best friend and I found this lovely boutique of a shop in Melbourne mall. It was so pretty in pink. They had so many different flavors to try of french macarons and I was so happy because this was my first time having a macaron. They are very moist and so good. Le Macaron- Melbourne 4 Stars. Occasionally, you run into something you have never tried before. For me trying macarons was that new experience. These tiny almond flour confections which are punctiliously made truly melt in your mouth. I ordered a rose, Belgian chocolate and a lavender white chocolate. All three are flavorful and spot on. You can literally taste the layered flavors all brought together with the cream of tartar. Now for a few side notes. The shop is inside the Melbourne Square Mall. It is decorated how an American would envision France not a real Parisian decor. The gentleman that owns the shop speaks virtually zero English so if you are going to try these pastries as a result of my review I suggest you do some research first because the owner can barely explain who he is let alone answer questions about his offerings. I think this is a nifty clever idea. I would tell you to tell him the Big Boy sent you but he would just stare at you blankly. read more

I went there yesterday with a friend to sample the macaron. Became a little skeptical when I discovered it was in a mall. It takes a good bit of the equipment to make macarons and I didn't see how a little Mall store couldn't have it. So my first question was where are these made? The girl's answer was a little lecture on how their coffee came from France. So I ask again and got another little lecture about how the owner is French. So I ask again and finally she tells me that the macarons are made in France and shipped here. We decided we would each sample one and then decide whether to buy more or not. He got the mint and white chocolate, I got the coffee, and we each got a cup of coffee. Complained he couldn't find a mint in his and mine had zero coffee flavor. We each commented on how it was like chewing a spoon of sugar. We decided not to buy anymore. The coffee also had no flavor and in no way resembled French roast. And she couldn't find the cups for the coffee so one of us got a styrofoam cup with one of the company's Lids which did not fit it. My suggestion is if you want macarons go elsewhere. We did not sample any of the other offerings. The eclairs we're about as big as my index finger. Lilliputian eclair just didn't appeal. read more

Arrived 15min before close but Fred was awesome! I've never had a macaroon before so I wasn't sure what to order. He made recommendations and explained each of their flavors. I decided on the vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel and pistachio. My favorite was the pistachio- heaven! I also took home two of the chocolate truffles. The truffles looked like art- and tasted even better. After explaining that the gelato was flown in from Europe- I decided I must try this as well and I'm glad I did!
