The most amazing dishes all in one night! I had the oyster and beef tartare and it blew me away…read more Normally I am not a fan of tartare at all but I tried it because they claim to have the best in Paris... and they do! For my dish I had the filet and wow just wow every bite had a burst of flavor. And to finish I had the strawberry dessert..... melted right in my mouth. The service was great they speak both French and English, however at the end I will say because they knew we were American they added the tip portion which I caught on to and when I made a joke about it they were a little frazzled. Either way I would definitely come back, especially cause I realized there was a bar downstairs as I was leaving! The decor reminded me of old school NY, very classy and lots of paintings.

When trying to reserve this, I made sure 30 days prior to book for my desired date. However, when I tried, all spots were completely booked. Note to self...reservations open 9AM PARIS time which is like 2AM Chicago time :/ LUCKILY, the hotel we were staying at was 2 blocks down and on Saturday me and my sister went to check if there were any cancellations. We got the 10PM slot which actually worked out perfectly for us and I AM SO HAPPY I GOT TO TRY THIS PLACE. WOOOOWW, the food was truly amazing! My favorite was the bone marrow for sure! They first served really good bread with the best butter in town. We ordered Escargot and the bone marrow as appetizers. I got the "New York" Steak Maturé that came with a béarnaise sauce and my sisters ordered the Filet Aux Poivres. As sides we got Pommes Frites (French fries), Haricots Verts (green beans), Ratatouille, and Pommes Grenailles de Noirmoutier (Roasted potatoes with creme fraiche). And my favorite part - dessert! We ordered CREME CARAMEL & MOUSSE AU CHOCOLAT VALRHONA. All I can say is all the food was amazing and the quality is evident! The interior has super dimmed lighting and booths with soft jazz in the background. Like super romantic vibes. Downstairs they have a bar area which is equally chic! The staff were soooo friendly! I'd 100% recommend this place if you're looking for a special dinner spot in Paris or if you are celebrating something special

There's a couple bakeries in the area, and they tend to be very good, but during my stay, Au Pain de Verdun was my favorite, and the one I visited the most often. There was always a beautiful selection of pastries, cakes, and cookies on display. Of these, I enjoyed the chocolate sablé, the speculoos eclair, the mini chocolate caramel tart, and the mille-feuille. Everything was very beautiful and, most importantly, tasty. I also relied on this bakery for dinner a few nights. I really loved the 2 sandwiches I got, 1 of which was a chicken curry sandwich and the other of which was a more traditional chicken sandwich with mayo and hardboiled egg slices. One night I also got a pretty massive square slice of pizza, which had sausage and some veggies on it and was a pretty filling dinner for about 4€. Finally, the baguettes were always fresh and wonderful, and can be sold in halves if you don't want a full one. The bakery accepts credit cards (including my American MasterCard), with just a 1€ minimum. The hours are very convenient, as they're open from 7 AM to 8:30 PM every day except for Sunday (closed that day). The owner of the bakery is polite and efficient, and definitely became warmer towards me each time I visited. If you're lucky enough to become a regular at this bakery, I envy you; I'll definitely return if I'm ever back in Suresnes!

But then today at Paul Le Quatre Temps we were about to buy an assortment of pastries, a non Caucasian lady with a bad attitude rudely told me I can't take pictures. I comply and left my que. Paul, you have good pastries but your staff don't have the sense of good attitude. We been all over the world and this the first time I was told not to take picture of food I was going to buy. Your staff need to learn what "Friendly " is. Feels like she don't want to be there. With so many other pastry shops around Paris I think I'll give my business to others. You left a bitter taste in my mouth. This my opinion about your bad attitude customer service not your product. The picture I was to take is to post on Instagram, FB, twitter...and to tell the world, hey I found the best pastry shop in Paris! But that person ruined all the persona your company plan to provide. Please, learn from the Japanese. You just lost a customer.

The portion sizes were excellent for the price. I was expecting smaller portions, so I was pleasantly surprised when my plate came out packed with food and definitely worth the value. I was very worried about the lime being extremely long due to the time we came at. But when we arrived we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. The service does a great job managing the line and trying to pull groups out of line to fit specific spots available if they can. The manager asked if there were any groups of three available and luckily we were able to get a table quicker than we thought! We were seated outside at a very small table. The tables are very close together and it is extremely hard to move around the chairs, etc. the interior is a little less tight, but nonetheless it is still a little chaotic to go about. Service was good and our food came out within about 10-15 minutes of ordering. I loved the classic Parisian atmosphere and really enjoyed being outside. We ended up ordering their famous hot chocolate and creme, the strawberries & creme, coffees, and a croissant. The prices here are a little steep considering what you are getting. But I definitely think it's an experience and the price reflects that. The hot chocolate was extremely rich and luscious--like nothing I've had before. It was almost reminiscent is drinking straight chocolate sauce. The fresh creme that accompanied it was delightful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I tried one of my friends strawberries and thought they were extremely fresh, but not necessarily worth the price. Cappuccino was pretty standard, but I enjoyed it. The croissant probably isn't the best in the city, but it was flaky and buttery, with lots of layers (exactly how it should be). Overall, I was happy I got to experience dining at Carette! We only waited about 30 minutes for a table and I think it was worth it. While I don't think it is life changing, I do think it is definitely worth trying and a fun experience. I enjoyed the creme that it came with just as much as the drink itself, if not more. Service was good and they ran a tight ship. If I were to go to Paris again, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. But if it is your first time in the city or you haven't been, I would recommend!
