We came for breakfast and had an overall great experience with friendly service and good food! La Resistencia offers a little bit of everything, but by far my favorite is their breakfast menu. They have a kickass egg menu that is served with hollandaise sauce *mouth watering-ly good* and toast. You can choose between vegetarian options like the fried onions and tomatoes (English breakfast style) or spinach and cheese to the meat eater bacon, ham or even meatballs! The best part is that their eggs are free-range and hormone-free! Besides their great egg breakfast, they have a good selection of teas as well as quality coffee - a perfect pairing to your breakfast. Although I haven't tried it, I saw they have what look to be delicious hamburgers and sandwiches plus a unique daily soup option. The sandwiches and hamburgers that were being served around us looked very tasty so I will definitely be coming back to take my partner here and confirm if the looks stack up to the taste. Since La Resistencia is located in the popular and very chic Drugstore gallery, we finished our breakfast and decided to "walk it off" by exploring the unique shops with local artesian designs and products.

Before coming to this tea house chain, I had heard rave reviews from friends, so when I finally decided to go, my mind was pre-blown (usually I try to keep my expectations low for places like this so I don't get disappointed but thanks to my friends I was super excited and expecting something great). As I got to the door I was hesitant to go in since I didn't know what to expect (I mean I did...apparently a great tea salon and cafe but I didn't want them to be wrong). As I walked in I was pleasantly surprised - the ambiance was even nicer than I had imagined! It is spacious, clean and cheerful; making for a great working space. I sat down in a small table (although there were many other nice looking areas this was the only one with a plug for my computer). The waiter promptly came over and handed me two different menus: 1 for the tea and 1 for everything else! Although I am not a big tea fan, I decided to order one anyway since it would make no sense to not order tea at a tea house (right?). Well, I met in the middle and ordered a Tea Latte, delicious and perfect for the cold winter day. I was only going to order a tea because I was meeting someone for lunch, but as soon as my eye caught a glimpse of their delicious dessert options there was no turning back. I got their Key Lime Pie (seriously good) and carrot cake (yes, I ordered two...I couldn't decide). Both were good but the Key Lime Pie won my heart. I also saw they offer brunch (my favorite meal of the weekend), although I can't vouch for it, if it is anything like the quality of their cakes and teas I definitely think it would be worth trying.

In Café Melba, breakfast is served all day long! It located on a quite side street by El Golf metro, offering an array of treats for your taste buds. I especially recommend their eggs Benedict. As soon as I put the first bite in my mouth, I cried a little (tears of joy, obviously). Plus, they offer all different varieties allowing you to exchange the ham for spinach or salmon. Tips: You can reserve a large table or their whole back room for events (depending on the size of your party) plus you can decorate as well - adding balloons, confetti and we even were allowed to bring in our own champagne to have mimosas! If you are a Coke addict come prepared, as they only serve Pepsi. I have heard through the grapevine that since I have last visited, Café Melba has changed owners and is no longer what it used to be so keep that in mind. Especially because the service has gone down hill. If you go, be sure to come with time because it will take awhile to get your order in and served.

After that excellent experience, I decided to bring my hubby for a Sunday brunch. I was VERY satisfied with their brunch menu! I could not believe the amount of food and drink that we both received--it was almost too much (in fact, we did take some breads home with us). When it comes to drinks, like pastries, they don't skimp on quality. The fresh-squeezed juices are terrific and the coffee baristas really know what they're doing. I ordered a coffee on Easter Sunday that was delish and had a hot cocoa most recently. The raspberry juice was so great that my hubby, who was feeling a little under the weather, had two! The ambiance is what you would expect from a French cafe in the city. It's a smaller space but I recommend sitting outside if you can. We sat in the far back courtyard and despite the cold temps outside, we were cozy thanks to the warm heat lamps and they also provide blankets! I highly recommend this spot for the friendly service (even if your Spanish is not great) and really delicious food. They even have a nice bakery right when you walk in the door, so it's a perfect spot to grab a quick host gift, a surprise for a friend, or even a coffee drink to go.

When I first came in, I felt like I had entered a cafe in San Francisco (my hometown). The shop is hip (even the uniforms of the baristas and waiters are what some would deem "hipster"). Overall, C'est Si Bon boasts quality ingredients, great service and a relaxing/hip ambiance. I recommend coming for breakfast, they have a variety of different options, both savory and sweet. The best is their, croque monsieur (the bread is fresh and crunchy and filled with cheesy goodness) If you want a healthier option, they have a large all-natural granola bar with nuts, cranberries and honey that is perfect to accompany your morning coffee. They serve daily lunch specials with a decent price. However, my favorite thing about this cafe is their organic selection of teas and coffees (something you don't see often in Santiago) and you can really taste the difference . The espresso is rich and nutty, the tea selection is wide and the cup, large. The service was also really good and our orders came out fast.
