Hit the spot - drinks weren't too expensive and the food was good. Very nice to sit outside!!

Great onion soup and limoncello spritz. Good service take your time. The soup fills the spot.

On the hunt for a restroom in Montmatre and a hankering for something sweet, I stopped in for an evening drink. The special was the Pomelo Spritz which boasted some of my favorite ingredients. Absolutely delicious. Service was awesome and price was great. The vibe is certainly Parisian Cafe. They had a menu but I didn't try the food. Great vibes and people watching after a long day.

10/10 dining. The staff are nice, the food is delicious (we ordered 8 things and not a single one disappointed), and the location is convenient (right near montmarte). I recommend the pork ribs! Only downside is that the restaurant is really small so it feels a bit cramped, but everything else is worth it!

Very nice people here. We came just before noon but they still seated us and took drink orders while we waited for the kitchen to open. The drinks were reasonable in price and very tasty. In addition, I was very impressed with their hamburger. I felt like it even tasted better then our favorite burger joint back home in Texas. The steak was the other dish that we had. Though I asked for medium, it actually came out medium. Usually its medium rare... In either case, they drenched that little sucker in butter and it really didn't matter to me whether or not it was medium or medium rare at that point. Great service and great food... I can't ask for more in a touristy area like Montmartre.

My wife and I had taken the metro up to Sacre Cour for a little sightseeing when the weather turned foul and we dove for cover inside Le Progrès. We were seated quickly and attended to efficiently. It is quite a lovely little place with a great view of an intersection leading up to Sacre Cour. We each just had a cappuccino while the weather cleared up, but the waiter was kind and patient with our broken French. Would have loved to make it back for lunch and a pint, but we had to power on!

Like most, the hike to Sacré Cœur and subsequent Montmartre wanderings on a rainy day literally compels you to stop for something warm and rich. This was perfect. Decent wine selection, tasty risotto with shrimp and scallops though risotto itself was slightly bland and required some self-peppering. The seafood was cooked to perfection. Service was pleasant and not rushed. Perfect spot!

This restaurant has lots of atmosphere, good food and you can enjoy a superb view on the night/street life of Montmartre. The waiters skillfully negotiate the narrow aisles and are friendly. The soundscape was way too loud for my taste.

After a quick sightseeing trip to Sacre Couer high atop Montmartre we descended into Lower Montmartre toward Pigalle and found the little brasserie Le Progrès across the street from another one--Café Chappe, and also from a pizzeria and a charcuterie place. The €18.50 lunch menu enticed us with its deal of appetizer (they call it entree) plus main or main plus dessert for that price. The two of us got parsnip soup and onion quiche as starters and roast pork with chorizo, potato gratin; and steak frites with bleu cheese sauce and a past its prime mesclun salad. Other than the salad everything was pretty good--but somewhat under-seasoned and lacking sparkle. We ordered one glass of beer and a large bottle of sparkling water. The tab was €57. Not bad for a meal in Montmartre but next time we will look around some more and try a different place. Service is competent although the server challenged my claim that the salad wasn't fresh-he asked how our food was and I was honest. The mushy, blackened lettuce pieces were left on my plate as evidence, for god's sake. The dining room is bright and pretty and the location is on a vibrant street in Montmartre. You could do worse but you could also do much better.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
