I was very happy to find it is still a wonderful place for fabulous French food :) They have a lunch menu for only 17.50 Euros for two courses or 21 Euros for three that will amaze your taste buds! The menu changes daily (as it should), but the day we were there the appetizer was a tuna crudo with cucumbers and radishes, and mackerel with a purée of broccoli and a white nectarine dessert with sorbet that bespoke the perfume of summer fruits. It was a wonderful welcome back to France with friends. We strolled the grounds of the chateau across the street to walk off lunch afterwards:)

The swordfish was excellently seasoned, not too salty, but enough to bring out the rich and meaty flavours of the filet. My only complaint would be that the olive oil added to the dish was not necessary, and contributed to my food feeling and tasting oily. The fish and vegetable already had ample flavour, so the added oil was a bit much. For dessert I had the chestnut tiramisu and my partner had the brioche with ice cream. The caramel sauce on his dessert was impressively sweet and rich. I loved it. I even stole a bit and added it to my tiramisu. The chestnut tiramisu was also a nice dessert. A little more on the sweet side, not enough espresso flavour for my personal preference, but the cheese and biscuits were really well flavoured. All and all, the experience was great and would be happy to recommend to friends if they visit St. Germain. Pleasant service and wait staff, along with great food.

He even got my daughter to eat a few more bites of her pasta before coming with the dessert menu. There was no kids menu but he was very accommodating with a few easy options that they would love (9 & 6 yrs old). Interior of the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Food was excellent. My husband and I had the steak, cooked perfectly to medium, and the best roasted and crispy potatoes. We had a glass of red wine, I don't remember the name but it was our waiter's recommendation and it was spot on.

Cute Spot, Good Enough Food... But That Service…read more We ended up at Baroche after making a last-minute pivot. We were originally headed to an entirely gluten-free restaurant, but after doing a little more research and seeing some not-so-great reviews, we decided to find something nearby instead. Baroche wasn't exactly the pasta moment I had envisioned for myself in Paris , but we made it work! We both ordered the fish and chips, swapping the fries for salads. The fish was good, and overall we enjoyed our meal. The restaurant itself is really cute, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. It has that classic Parisian café feel and is in a great area for grabbing a bite and continuing your day or evening. Now...the service. Absolutely awful. Our server unfortunately fit the stereotypical Paris persona people warn you about -- rude, brusque, and generally unhelpful. He did recommend wines for us , but even then, his tone came across as condescending rather than helpful. There was very little warmth or hospitality throughout our meal, which definitely put a damper on the experience. Price-wise, Baroche seemed comparable to the other Parisian cafés and restaurants we visited in the area, so no surprises there. Overall: cute atmosphere, decent food, terrible service. Would I rush back? Probably not -- especially with SO many other cafés to choose from in Paris.
