2 stars for the Pina colada, but the food was pretty bad and the service slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant too. There is no "Cuban sandwich" here by any name. Dry pork, no ham, no mustard, no pickle. As stated by another, fries pretty limp although they tasted ok, once we finally got ketchup. Orders came out as if being done one at a time. My friend got into Quebec City late, and this ended up being the only place near us still serving food. The waitress didn't speak English, and our French is not very good, but luckily she spoke Spanish, and so do I! The entire transaction was conducted in Spanish, which I find amusing as heck. The food was so super good! We got plaintains and an order of poutine to share (which is the first and best poutine I've had on this trip). I got what they call the chef sandwich but is a cubano. Absolutely delicious. My friend got the vegetarian arepas, which came with cheese, tomato, and zucchini. She liked them a lot. The waitress was very friendly to these weary, hungry travelers, and I would recommend this place for sure. read more

My husband and I were sick of French food and were so excited to see there was a Cuban place. We have been to Cuba and love Latin American culture. The restaurant is fun with lights and Spanish music. The owners were very friendly. Unfortunately we were left disappointed with the food. My husband got the "Special Sandwich, which was like a Cuban sandwich. The cheese wasn't fully melted and had no condiments on it (mayo, mustard). The fries with it were soggy and they didn't give us any ketchup. I got the pork chop and shrimp with vegetables. It was $55 and for 2 people. It was disappointing. The shrimp were cooked well, but had no seasoning. The pork was so dry and like shoe leather. They didn't provide any salsas red or green or hot sauce. The plantains were dry and needed salt. The salad was delicious and fresh. Good concept and culture, but failed on the food. read more

I don't know much about Cuban food, but what we had was quite tasty. Not much for ambiance but what do you expect for the price? The owners were fun to talk to (got to practice French) because it was empty until halfway through our meal (Tuesday night). Even then, the other couple got their food to go. So I'm guessing the locals go here. Good stuff: the soups (beef, bean, respectively) and the chicken. Has a different, kind of smoky taste, but it grew on us. read more

I tried the $25 course including salad, main course- thigh (super tasty), coffee, dessert (chocolate caramel cake). Chef introduced himself and checked up on us to see how food tasted. This place was a hole in the wall with great Cuban dishes. The owner is also the chef and server. He had no other employees working when we were there for an early dinner. There was only one other customer there with us. We loved the pork chop and the Ropa Vieja dishes. Dinner for 4 with a bottled beer, a juice and two sodas, with taxes and 15% tip was about $80 Canadian. read more

Honestly this place is amazing. The ambience, the food, the drinks! They make the best pina colada I have ever tried! The owner is so nice, and the quality is great. I highly recommend the sweet plantain, rice and beans, and churros. If you are vegetarian, they can accomodate you. read more

This guy is a veeery good cook. we tried the ."vaca frita" "the ropa vieja" "the picadillo" an the "chuleta" which were all great, make sure to try some "platanos fritos" and one of the exotic pops or juices. read more

Tasty food and good portions at an attractive price point. The white neon lighting makes the place look a bit unwelcoming from the street, but inside it is clean and relatively cozy. If you have the appetite for it I would recommend to get a side of manioc (yucca, cassava) fries with your meal. read more
