The food was a pleasure to eat. I ordered classic egg's Benedict. I wanted my egg poached medium but I was told by an unfriendly dry as dirt Italian waitress that I could only have it runny. I then had to take a little more time to find something else. A lovely American waitress came over and helped me.(I'm not saying she's lovely because she's American, she just was really friendly) She explained that the cook makes all the poached eggs in one big pot and can't specialize one for a customer. She said they could fry it medium well and that worked for me. The other waitress offered to fry the egg or scramble it but she just wasn't friendly, and she didn't give me all the choices of how I could get the egg fried. That really helped me make my choice. The egg's Benedict came with American pork bacon and not Canadian bacon. The hollandaise sauce was deliciousness, but they give you such a small amount. They need to double it. Another reviewer mentioned how good the green hot sauce was, so I tried it. It was spot on great!! I made sure every bite had the green sauce on it. I usually only like shredded hash browns but their breakfast potatoes were perfect. They weren't hard and had a good flavor. The restaurant was clean but very small. It had a nice relaxing feel. I love to try the food of the country I'm visiting, but after traveling for two weeks it was nice to have something I eat at home. The eggs Benedict was a treat. I had the hot amaretto coffee drink and that just hit the spot and made the waiting to be seated all worth it. The had many types of milk you can put in your coffee, for example, they have soy milk, oat milk, etc. I would definitely recommend this place and come back. Oh and the less than friendly waitress served my food to me with a smile, but she never smiled again and never accepted my thank you's no matter how much I said them. Word of advice don't have a sad face if they can't provide something the way you want it if the waitress is blond and Italian. That will not go over well. You're not allowed to be quietly disappointed. read more

A little of the usual path, Yelp! recommended this place and was happy to have tried it. The place is classic, the service was of the best, and the food was excellent. First time while visiting in Florence. Small little place but amazing service and food. The Bloody Mary was amazing and nice and spicy. We all had the Logan breakfast burrito and it was so delicious! It was loaded with avocado, eggs, cheese, and Polish sausage. It also includes a side of nicely oven roasted potato wedges that were wonderful. They also had a delicious green verse hot sauce that was great to add to the burrito. Our server spoke perfect English and was very responsive and friendly. And this place was absolutely delicious, we wish that we found it earlier in our trip! We had already been told to wait outside and were* sitting outside for approximately 15 minutes. We felt very stupid standing outside with our kids in the cold waiting for a table as they let in people that just arrived. Ate breakfast here our last morning in Florence since it was near our AirBnB. Came early (9:30) and there was no wait. We ordered pancakes + sausage and the eggs+bacon+homefries plate. We have been eating fruit and cereal for breakfast in our AirBnB so this was our first breakfast out in the week we spent so far in Italy. Food was good! Pancakes were above average and the meal definitely hit the spot for an American breakfast. Scrambled eggs were...interesting-very yolk-y and at first I thought they had cheese in them but they just had chunks of yellow. Bacon and sausage were tasty and I liked the salad that came with the eggs. I enjoyed the cleanser juice and overall the space is cute. Service was just okay. I don't believe our server ever checked on us during our meal but was still pleasant. I would recommend if you are feeling nostalgic for a traditional American breakfast. read more

I only have positive things to say about our experience. Wonderful food, ambience, and service. I had the dundas (tofu scramble wrap) and my boyfriend had the bloor (blt with avocado) which both came with some delicious salad and potatoes. The Bathroom didnt have a lock, you had to keep your foot propped to keep it closed. The restaraunt was tilted so the door would keep sliding. There was a window in the toilet pointing to the kitchen and it was open, acouple times a big chef who was bald and had a scar on his face would creep up to the window and go "BA LA LA LA LA" making a face and yelling at me. And the other time, a guy who looked almost identical to the short lead chef in the movie ratatouille tried to politely open the door but i closed it with my foot in time and said "occupied" very calmly, he then became very aggressive and violent and began to tug on the door with all of his might. I kept stopping the door with my foot until i had to drop a huge load so i kind of twitched which took my foot away and the door flew open and he flung himself towards me but luckily security grabbed him before he touched me. There was no flush on the toilet, there was a large stick you had to use to push your fecal matter down under the toilet. And frequently, rocks would float up from the toilet and poke my behind. My glutes were very scratched. The faucet was a pedal controlled sink, little did i know it was broken and the pedal was just a lever that notified the chef I was off the toilet and he came and retrieved me. I lived in Florence for 4 months and Le Vespe Cafe was hands down my favorite spot to go in the city and one of my top 3 meals I ate in Europe. The Iced Coco Caffe is the best coffee I've had in Europe. The Via del Leone breakfast burrito + potatoes are phenomenal. When you go, you may have to wait outside for about 20-30 minutes before being seated. Worth the wait. A must if you're traveling to Florence and near the Santa Croce area!! After a week abroad, we were jonesing for some good ol' American breakfast. Eggs seems to be hard to come by in Italy (or just not popular?), so we were excited to find this place! We each ordered a cappuccino, and my hubs chose the Annex for his meal. I opted for the Parkdale. Both were absolutely delicious! Eggs were fluffy and I really appreciated the light salad served alongside the eggs and home fries - I'm always thankful to find greens when we're traveling abroad, because by that point I've inevitably spent days eating the local fare and desperately need veggies. The dressing was delicious, too! By the way, definitely bring your appetite - this meal was closer to American sized portions, rather than Italian sized ones. Service was lovely and prices were right. Be sure to leave a tip - it's noted on the receipt (or menu? It was noted somewhere...) that unlike most of the rest of Italy, tip isn't included in the bill. We would definitely return, next time we're in Florence :) read more

The wait is punishingly long. And if you are in the queue, they seat their friends ahead of you regardless. But I suppose if you ran a cafe this size, you would tend to patronize your long term customers over visiting tourists I suppose. So, I have given them a pass on that. I found myself here again as it was in the vicinity and the reputation among the locals is that this is a tourist trap, but I found the cafe decent enough. And they have English and speak English which is a huge plus in my book!
