A gem Just around the corner from Our air bnb. Stopped in on our last day here (should have sooner!) delicious brunch and carrot cake! Oh and the mimosa!! Nice to have a real brunch, not just coffee and croissant. Service was great and the place was busy but not loud. Can't speak highly enough. Go u won't be sorry!

    Big Brekkie!

This was absolutely the best breakfast we had in Italy! I had the Çibir Turkish eggs, hubs had the Big Brekkie and a cinnamon roll. The service was wonderful and we just had a great experience

Another cute and comfortable coffee spot close to both our hotel and a tour meeting spot. The people working that morning were so friendly and welcoming, and seemed to be that way for every person already in there and those who walked in after us. My husband really wanted a pastry, but I wasn't really hungry, so I just got the Golden iced latte (€5). My husband ordered the Magic (€3) and their pistachio cornetto, which was one of the fanciest we'd seen. The drinks and his pastry came out quickly, and all were equally delicious. The service was great and we loved the feel of the space itself: the interior was bright and open and airy, and the outdoor patio, though a bit tight, was comfortable and shaded, with a great view of the river and the part of the city beyond.

    Cinnamon Roll

We have seen the cinnamon rolls all over Instagram, heard they were the best in the world. Absolutely true! The frosting tasted like mother's milk, delicious. We also tried the apple cheesecake danish which was just as good must try!

Bright, welcoming spot to have breakfast with a menu of creatively created choices. The service was friendly, quick and the server answered any questions we had. The food was well prepared and tasted wonderful.

Wow! What a lovely breakfast/lunch spot. Staff was warm & welcoming from the moment we waking through the door. Their food was some of the best we had during our trip. The sausage was so fresh and flavorful, this is a must if you don't have dietary/religious restrictions. Let me talk about the pancakes. There are no words for those pancakes!! They are a must; no questions whatsoever. Also, as american breakfasts aren't that common, this was a nice break from all the cornettos LOL. The cinnamon roll was fantastic & all the pastries looked amazing, if only I could've tried them all.

Wonderful little breakfast place. Best American eggs and bacon I've had in Italy... crispy bacon is perfect! The cinnamon roll was to die for! Good coffee too. Definitely worth the wait.

This spot seems to be super popular for Americans, most customers here speaks American English which is quite interesting. The coffee here is on the spot! Absolutely no complain here. The food items we got were pretty good - more like what you would find at a brunch spot in US - but they made them very well. The pastries, interestingly is also American style, which is a minus for me, as personally I prefer Italian pastries a lot better. But if you are in town and craving for some American sweets, here's your spot!

If you are looking for a more substantial breakfast this is the place. Everything is delicious, the cinnamon roll is the best I have ever had. And the breakkie is great to split. Portions are generous. It is on the pricey side, I would encourage getting a pastry and splitting the larger plates. Lovely atmosphere and servers are great!

Came in for a quick breakfast prior to meeting for a wine tour. Got there about 8:45 am and arrived just before the crowds, so we had our choice of places to sit. They have a good selection of different coffee drinks and tea as well as several pastries and breads. They also have several larger breakfast items. We had the eggs Benedict (stubbed tomato for the spinach). Eggs we're cooked perfectly, hollandaise was a bit tangy-it was a delicious dish. Also had the big brekkie-2 poached eggs, 2 HUGE slices of sourdough toast, bacon, sausage, Avocado and a salad. Again eggs cooked great, as well as the sausage and bacon. Service was very quick and attentive. Good for a quick or sit down breakfast.

I had calamari and fried fish with fries. It fine enough. It neither dish had any flavor. I utilized a lot of salt, pepper, and lemon. Then it was edible. My sons had for starter's: the anchovies, tuna slices, and tuna tartar. I tasted the anchovies and surprisingly they were amazing. They put all the flavor and seasoning in the anchovies and tuna fish slices. The tuna fish had flavor but it still had that fish tuna taste. It was seasoned well though. I didn't try the tuna tartar but my son said it was good. It was over a bed of chopped up cantaloupe. The tartar was marinated and very flavorful. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't really memorable for me. I wouldn't be interested in going back. The staff was attentive and joyful. They played songs from the Mama Mia soundtrack and customers and staff members sang along. I may have picked the wrong thing but my family enjoyed what they had.

This place was inviting as it was lit and the pastries and desserts were so inviting. We didn't have a cannoli yet and their cannoli was just calling our name from the glass window. Caffe Neri is a small narrow shop with various goods from sandwiches to pastries to desserts and also coffee. We opted for the cannoli and a specialty cake that they are known for. Both were not too expensive and was just okay. Oddly enough, I've had better cannoli in Philadelphia. The sponge cake was just a sponge cake. It's a quaint little shop, good to try a few things, but nothing exceptional in my eyes.

They have a wide assortment of gluten free goodies -- from cookies to pies to savory bread-based delights. It's all priced quite fairly, too. I came in around 6pm on a Friday, and the kind woman behind the counter advised me to come back in the morning because they had more things in the mornings. I was sincerely baffled and said-- wait, more?! To me, they had a ton of great options even at 6pm! Apparently the cases are packed full in the mornings and if you want your best pick of the lot, go then. But if you're like me and not able to do that for whatever reason, you'll still find plenty! I can't have gluten or dairy. Sometimes it's hard to find dairy free goodies in a gluten free bakery. Not so with Starbene! They had cookies, pies and tarts as well as some bread-based savory items -- all clearly marked as without dairy. Grazie, Starbene!! Made my whole night! I ended up getting some cookies (3 for 1€) -- they were almost like thumbprints, with blackberry jam filling and with chocolate hazelnut filling. So. Good. I also got an apricot jam tart (~3€, I think). It was also delicious! The apricot jam was just the right amount of sweet and the crust was perfectly flakey. Plus, there was a heart shape on top which was just the sweetest little detail. I also got a focaccina, which was kind of like a bread roll pizza without cheese or sauce. It was super good! I took it up to Piazzale Michelangelo and enjoyed it with a view of the city. Perfection! My next visit to Florence, Starbene's will be a must do. No question about it. Gluten free friends, get yourselves over there and enjoy!
