Les portions sont généreuses et très goûteuses. Mais le livreur était vraiment désagréable même exécrable. Ils ont maintenant le service de Dordash. Mais, je suis retourné chez Pho99. une autre fois. Les portions avaient encore rapetissé. Mais le service est tellement agréable et efficace que aujourd'hui je leurs ai donné une autre chance. Grosse déception !!! j'avais 4 petits morceaux de 1 1/2'' par 1 1/'2'' une très petite portion de riz et de salade et un rouleaux de la moitié de la grosseur d'avant, soit maintenant la grosseur moyenne d'un petit doigt d'homme et ce n'est pas aussi délicieux qu'avant. Mais, chose étrange le prix est le même sinon plus cher. Donc c'était malheureusement la dernière fois pour moi et mes collègues.

It always amazes me that a pho can arrive boiling hot when delivered! Very delicious! I would probably have thrown in a few hot sauce packets, but I had some at home. I have to commend Madame Ly on sending some very nice bamboo chopsticks, this made the experience even better! I also ordered a banh mi as a snack for the day after, which was very delicious, and a chicken dish which was very good too. I have to say for delivery it was incredibly fast! The delay time listed on uber eats was spot on, very very glad for that. I'd love to try some other dishes in person some time. Well done Madame Ly!

Also brought home some Banh Gio, which literally translates to "pork leg cake" but don't let the unappetizing name fool you, it is a tasty pyramid-shaped rice dumpling, wrapped in banana leaf, filled with ground pork, onions, minced woodear mushrooms. I've noticed they also sell many other items to go including Cha (Vietnamese sausage), Banh Bao (Vietnamese version of the Chinese steamed buns), Pate So (hot savoury meat pie), Banh Chung (traditional rice cake), Cay Chua (pickled mustard greens), Xoi Vo (sticky rice with mung beans) and many more. The Long Version: My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our most recent trip to Laval. They have a lunch combo for $12.50 for the banh mi of the day, a spring roll and a drink (bottle of water or a can of soda). You can upgrade your drink to a bubble tea for an additional $5. It was a Friday, so the banh mi of the day was the Traditional, which is essentially mixed cold cuts. We got a combo each. My husband got a bottle of water and I upgraded my drink to a bubble che (more on that later). You get a choice of a chicken spring roll or a vegetarian spring roll. We both chose the former. They bake their bread on-site and the bread is a legit banh mi baguette crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The banh mi was good, but the pork belly was sooooo fatty. I know some people like this, but I do not. I had to pick it out. It comes with different Vietnamese cold cuts including the one that is made of pork belly, pickled carrots, daikon radish and cucumbers as well as pâté, Vietnamese mayo (which is more like an aioli) and cilantro. We asked them to hold the cilantro, but they forgot. Not a big deal for us because it was easy to pick out. Just wastage on their part. Other than the fatty pork belly, I enjoyed the sandwich. The spring roll was hot and crispy and had ground chicken and vegetables in it. We chose sweet and sour dipping sauce, but there's the option for fish sauce as well. The bubble che is like a cross between bubble tea and the Vietnamese dessert che. It was chock-full of toppings which I loved. It had tapioca pearls, coconut jelly, grass jelly, red beans and toasted peanuts and coconut milk. It was really rich with a lot of different textures. I felt the amount of peanuts was excessive for my tastes and the crunchiness was bordering on weird. However, the toasted peanuts added this toasty smell to the drink which I oddly liked. I might request less peanuts next time. Definitely a drink for those already familiar with Vietnamese che or for the adventurous. I can see how it would not be to everyone's taste. Staff were courteous. There was a bit of a wait because they were very busy with orders, including lots of food delivery app orders. Sandwich makers wore gloves, which I appreciated. They also sell vermicelli or rice bowls and noodle soups. They have a small selection of imported Asian snacks, candies, ramen packages and bubble tea ingredients. They have an area to eat-in too. We went on a Saturday mid-afternoon, just in time for the end of the lunch special. For 8.50$ I got 2 imperial rolls and a beef pho; for that price, I was like wow, this is a bargain. So its a bargain deal, because: a) the imperial rolls come frozen from some grocery store (they are NOT homemade - see photo) and b) the pho portion was tiny. The pho was good though, so at least that's that, but had I known what the lunch special really was, I would have just ordered the pho from the normal menu for $10. Also, the server who took our order was pretty rude, condescending and did not seem to comprehend either the French nor the English language? Like I was about to ask him if maybe he spoke Spanish.... All I asked was what beef cut was served with the lunch special beef pho and all he kept repeating was that it was beef. Yes, thank you, I know how to read "beef pho" but I wanted to know which cut. Anyways. It ended up being raw beef slices (I prefer cooked flank). On the plus side, this resto is BYOB. So on my recent trip to Montreal, I was thrilled to find at least a few in the area where I was staying at, so one night, after searching high and low for Pakistani food (which we finally gave up, considering how hungry we were and how we did not want to battle finding a parking spot at rush hour), we ended up at Mylys instead. While waiting for a friend, I did take some time to read up on the place, which got an article written about how excellent their vietnamese food was. Done. Once all together, we walked in, and got seated right away, after waiting for the waiter to clean off a table that just departed. When reviewing the menu, I found out that this was both a Thai and Vietnamese place. Perfect...I love Thai food too. So, one of my friends ordered the fried chicken, the other got the General Tao's Chicken, and I got the beef and mushrooms. Now...being used to the spiciness of dishes, I expected a bit more spices. Not to say that the food was bad...it was actually good. I just like to have a bit more garlic and ginger in my asian foods. Then again, being Asian does make me a bit more of a critique. Should I go back next time, I would definitely have to try Canadian pho. I guess that will have to wait until my next field trip back up north!
