These people are amazing!!!! They are not your typical acupuncture and I've been using acupuncture for years. They have created their own, new approach to using TCM and energy work. And it really works. Below I'm going to outline the AMAZING things they've done for me: Induced Labor: Came here 1/2 centimeter dilated at 11am and as soon as I left my water broke, by 4pm I was in active labor and my baby was born at 9:20pm that same day. No medication, fast delivery. No tearing. Seriously. Postpartum weight loss: Getting married 5 months after giving birth. I came here for weight loss help (gained 47 pounds during pregnancy). Now, 4 months postpartum and I'm 3 pounds away from pre-pregnancy. Also, they have a way to activate Brown fat in order to boost your metabolism. It works. I went from 32" to 29.5" on my waist in 2 weeks. It looks crazy and I don't know how but this stuff works. Hip and neck pain: with just one session and my hip pain didn't return. It was great, especially since most acupuncture says you need numerous sessions back to back. Somehow the way they enhance their acupuncture through massage, energy work, and scientific gadgets they magnify the process and so one $90 session replaces numerous daily sessions. There are a few reasons why I'm happy with Lea Tam Acupuncture: -Good first impression. It feels very home-y, if that makes sense. On the day of my first appointment, I had a feeling that many of the clients sitting in the waiting area have been coming for a long time and/or that they're frequent flyers. The staff greet them by name and there's friendly side conversation and occasional laughs. I don't know about other people, but that was a good sign for me and put me at ease. I continued seeing that after my first visit too. The space is very inviting and welcoming. I don't know if it's because I'm comparing it to the very sterile, cold experience of going to the doctor or to a dentist. The space is colorful and decorated and has many photos. Again, home-y and welcoming. Just go see yourself. Also, it's clean. Enough said -The staff explain what they're doing and give tips on how you can do the massages yourself. They also encourage questions and seem very patient. -No pressure! This is something to appreciate in any business. The vibe I got was: "If you'd like to, come back in _____ weeks. If not, no problem! See you soon." No pressure, no worries. I worked with Bell and chose to come in for weekly visits. I started seeing results after week 3, which was great. Last night, I had an initial acupuncture treatment from Yvonne Tam, requesting help for anxiety and hypertension; and it was nothing short of amazing! Yvonne is lovely, sweet and kind, and cheerful and fun. I couldn't even feel the needles, either going in or staying in, and had only a slight discomfort in a shoulder where my muscles had been very tight for many years. Afterwards, I was so relaxed I can only compare it to feeling like a rag doll, or the way it feels after hours spent lying on a beautiful beach in perfect weather, times 10. When I got home, I immediately went to bed and slept soundly for eight hours straight, something I hadn't done in more years than I even can remember. About a year ago I came to Lea Tam Acupuncture because they accept most health insurance, but I was especially interested in their approach that combines acupuncture and tui na. My practitioner is Bell and it's been so wonderful having his care. His approach is very informative; he explains how he's going to treat you so that you're not "in the dark" about what he's doing and how it relates to your health. He's a wealth of knowledge, and you can tell by how skillfully he applies the acupuncture needles and performs the tui na bodywork that he's had a great deal of experience (it runs in the family!). Before started treatment I was told by others that it usually takes a few appointments to feel a difference (or at least where they had gone) But at Lea Tam Acupuncture I felt a difference even after the first appointment. Bell, the practitioner, is very kind and excels at his job. I've been suffering carpal tunnel syndrome on my both hands for quite sometime, so I decided to check out some reliable clinics on yelp and decided to try this place. After 2 visits, the numbness is 100% gone and after my 8th visit, the carpal tunnel problem is totally fixed. I always go to this clinic whenever I got muscle tensions or headache related problems.
