I spent $13,000 to put new LeafFilter 6" gutters on our home. The replaced 4" gutters had been on my home with no problems for 25+ years but the salesperson sold me on all the reason why I needed the upgrade. The new gutters installed by Leaf Filter (Hanover, MD) began to stain within a 2 year period. When I contacted Leaf Filter, they basically told me that it was not their problem and this known issue was not covered by their warranty although they were fully aware that this problem existed. They promised to get an "expert installer" to contact me but for the last 3 weeks, they have ignored me. No one from the local office or their customer support has responded after speaking with 6 different representatives from both corporate and local offices. I spent $13,000 and I cannot get a call back from ANYONE at LeafFilter. Although I own several homes and was considering an upgrade to those home gutter systems, I would never call on LeafFilter again to service any of my properties. It has been an abysmal relationship and I am very disappointed in their after sale service. I would highly recommend that you avoid LeafFilter as a provider based on my experience. Got my gutters with a far superior system at half the price for better products and zero issues locally from a veteran-owned local business that doesn't have to mark up by a massive percent to pay the franchise fee and asinine commissions for sure. Even better I got the gutter guards, better product and a far superior mounting system for the lowe price without the attitude. Yeah...you say you will pass my complains on but your reviews all over on the entire chain show the opposite. I even got a 75% off coupon I asked them to explain how that differs from my offer. The honesty of your salesperson. I was told by the salesperson that the jobs are not contracted out. But I get a worker who could not speak English and clearly arrived in a truck with his company name. He tried to tell me things about my gutters that I could not understand. Now I don't know what is wrong with the work. I called the salesperson whom told me he would call me when he got out of a meeting but never heard back. The pitch wasn't pitchy/bashing. I liked what I heard, the price was a special (even if it wasn't, the price was inline with other vendors). The install team showed up on the dot and in 3 hours had everything installed and packed away. No fuss, no muss. It's now been several weeks, and several heavy thunderstorms and all is as it should be. Called to set up appointment, we confirmed date/ time for the following week. During that week I received 3 phone calls with v/m messages along with 6 emails confirming and reminding me of the appointment. Today comes and no one shows up. I waited one hour and 15 minutes. They're response was " the only way to process my claim was to have some one come oit and do a water test to see where the water is coming in and why. This will be the 5th inspection and visit. Oh also, they fired they #2 inspector because he told me the gutters where installed wrong as well as some unknown build upon the screen. If you look online they know of this unknown buildup...alot of people deal with it... I requested the company installed them correctly or re install with a new system. Well, that has been 4 weeks now and nothing no phone calls emails Nothing. My sales person was Cyril, he came out in the scorching heat to give me an estimate. We hadn't started letting people in the house yet so we sat on the stoop for the appointment. We ended up getting the pandemic discount plus our military discount, so we got a really good price. We still had to wait over a month for our HOA to approve the work but once I had the approval we were scheduled and done within a week. There was a scheduling issue. We had a morning appointment and the tech mixed us up with another person and didn't actually show up until about 2pm, but he did show up. Looking up from the ground you can tell the gutters are clean now you can't see much else. There was a spot on match to our existing gutters. So, so far so good. If we ever sell and move I'd hire them again. read more

Leaf filter claims are false and their customer service is horrible. The guard/filter became clogged after 2 years of installation. It happened in several spots. The clogged spots were located directly under the spouts that were on the second floor. The rain poured from the spouts on the filter/guard. Over a period of 2 years they became clogged. After that, every time it rained hard, the water from the spout went over the filter/ guard and not through it like it should. This ruined 2 flowerbeds by uprooting several plants. We asked customer service and the local office for help. They didn't do anything. They sent a technician who left a phone number. We tried to follow up with the technician. He never picked up the phone and we couldn't leave a message. We called the 800 number, they noted our concerns and nothing happened. I left numerous messages at the local office and no one responded. After 6 months, they sent someone to check it but was going to charge us $95 just to take a look. What happened to the claims that their work was guaranteed for life. I would never recommend leaf filter. What an awful experience!!!! Last December I called Leaf Filter and set up an appointment. The rep came and convinced me to get new five inch gutters - an upgrade from three inch. They did a nice job on the gutters and downspouts and so I got that. But what I wanted was leaf filter. I thought the job was done but did not get up on a ladder to check. The whole purpose was to avoid getting on a ladder - like the ad says. I noticed debris coming down the downspouts and out the extenders. So I called and asked. They told me it was residual from the extenders. I called again. They told me they would come out and check and they did not. I was cleaning my siding a few days ago and finally got up on a ladder to check. There was NO leaf filter at all. Today they told me that I did not contract for leaf filter. Just the gutters. Leaf Filter incorrectly installed gutters on our house resulting in flooding in our basement. Although Edgar Medina (installation manager at Glen Burnie) admitted that the gutters were installed incorrectly and said that they would pay for the water remediation in the basement, they ultimately refused to give us a cent-and the basement work was approximately $4K! I filed a BBB complaint against them and they are still refusing to reimburse us. Their response to the BBB complaint was infuriating-that the basement may have flooded due to our drain pipes when we have NEVER had water in the basement until Leaf Filter screwed up our gutters. So coincidentally the drain pipes failed when they put on our gutters? Please note that there are over 3000 complaints against this company just in the past three years on the BBB website! There was also a class action lawsuit against them in 2020. I wish I had done my due diligence before hiring them. Do yourself a favor and have your gutters cleaned twice a year instaed of hiring this incompetent business who refuses to take responsibility for their mistakes, even when they admit that they installed the gutters incorrectly! read more

Had a regional manager come out to do an estimate. After going through his explanation of the product, he became very aggressive, rude, and condescending when discussing the very costly price of the system. I think he thought he could bully me into buying the system. At one point he told me to never contact their company again because we weren't a good match. Told me several times I was making a huge mistake and missing out on a huge opportunity. When I called him out on his behavior he dismissed me. Told me that he had 34 years of sales experience and a degree in psychology and knew how to read people. I finally had to tell him to pack up his things and leave. I have never in my life been spoken to in such a manner from customer service. I had a similar experience to Clarissa S. and Adam C. I had contacted Leaf Filter through an add I saw on Instagram and they aggressively pursued me to set up a home visit. I stated clearly that I wanted a quote for the job, and they said a technician had to come and measure my gutters in order to give me a quote. They sent a commercial sales manager, who was only interested in making me buy the product. He (Jason Seller) calculated a ridiculous price of almost $5K for 90ft of gutter protection material! And when I asked him to itemize it, he said that total figure was as itemized as it was going to get (!?). When I said I was not about to pay that amount for a gutter filter, he started lowering the price, like a car salesman. The price then went to $3999, to finally around $2300 for a "commercial" offer. I explained I would look at other offers and compare quotes, and he got upset as if I had wasted his time in coming out to my house. At the end, he got too pushy and asked way too many personal financial questions, that it got uncomfortable and I asked him to leave. When I asked for the quote, he dismissed me and said he would send it via email. He doesn't have my email! So I endured a rude and pushy salesman and didn't even get a quote in writing, which is what I had initially called for. If this is how they treat their clients before buying their product, I can't imagine what happens if you have a complaint or something goes wrong after installation. Our house was a "fixer upper" when we got it. We have lots of tall, mature trees that are a nightmare in the fall. After constant over flowing gutters during the wettest summer in the state of Maryland, we realized getting gutter guards was a major priority on our home repair list. We received a Leaf Filter coupon in the mail and figured we'd give them a call. The sales person who came to our house was great... great at BS-ing people. He was super personable, rattled off a bunch of useless facts about the company and demonstrated the product. He assured us that the installers are employees of Leaf Filter and NOT subcontractors, and that they have strict protocol regarding how they dress, no cussing, no smoking, etc. After hearing the price I was shocked, but I thought we would get what we paid for. I WAS WRONG. When the installers came, they were in an unmarked vehicle, wearing nondescript t-shirts. They barely spoke English and were hardly old enough to drink a beer legally. At one point, one of the installers decided he needed a belt, and to accommodate himself, he ripped off the bottom of his t-shirt and tied it around his waist. When they were done the installation, they rang the doorbell and handed my husband a business card for their carpet cleaning business. After collecting the check, they left. They also left all their trash in our yard... water bottles, left over pieces of the product, all the leaves and junk they pulled out of the gutters... A week later there was another rain storm. Water was sheeting off the roof and our gutters were over flowing, so clearly the down spouts were never cleaned. When we called to complain, the representative was mediocre at best. He reluctantly acknowledged that the installers were in fact subcontractors, so the sales person clearly lied to us. We were told the installers that came to our house were terminated because they had received complaints from other customers as well, but the representative was clearly not interested in making things right. After much arguing, he agreed to send someone to our house to inspect the work that was done. However, when that person came, he was there for about 15 minutes and left. My husband was home at the time. But instead of speaking directly to my husband, he left a note on the door for us to email him if we wanted to discuss the results of his inspection. So I emailed. He responded saying the installation was done improperly and a new team would be sent to our house the following week to fix it. When I called to confirm the date and time the new installers where coming, I got voice mail. A couple days later, he called me and left a voice mail that they would be to our house at 9 AM the following morning. The next day, 9 AM came and went. By 10:30 I was calling AGAIN to find out what was going on. Finally, someone came to our house. If this person came to our house initially, I wouldn't be writing this. He showed my husband the errors the first installers made - it wasn't installed at the correct pitch and the gutters were not cleaned properly. He made sure the down spouts were clean and all the joints were caulked. He removed all of the Leaf Filter product that was installed incorrectly the first time and completely replaced it with all new material. My 1 star in my rating goes to this guy. Our battle is not done with Leaf Filter. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Our experience with this company has been awful. And for the amount that they charge, your money would be better spent somewhere else. read more

This company is by far one of the most unprofessional companies I've dealt with to date. Don't even bother and just look elsewhere. I requested a quote online and then received a call within 10mins (Funny how they are quick to respond when you're ready to give them money). The quote process was quick and painless. A time was set for an estimator to come out within a couple of days and I was good to go. The morning of the estimate I received a call 45mins after the original time of the estimate from a gentleman saying that my original estimator's car broke down on the way to my home... Ok... He assures me he is on his way it would be there within the hour. Fine... As promised he came and that process went well. I was approved for the payment plan all is well. A date was set for the installation... This is where things get funny... The morning of the install their crew came on time we exchanged pleasantries they told me they will be working and will let me know if they need anything from me. I mention to the gentleman that I do have a deck if it wasn't mentioned to him before (which is wasn't by the look of shock on his face). He then proceeds to tell me "Oh sorry our ladders are too small to reach the top of your roof we can not do the install today." HUH? How can you come out to a job without proper equipment? I don't have a mansion it's a regular DC Row-House. Nothing fancy at all. But ok... He then proceeds to tell me "No worries I will call my supervisor and he will call you to get someone out within the next day or so." Ok No Problem... After a few hours of not hearing anything from ANYONE I decided to call them myself, I'm told emails are sent out and calls and whatever and I should hear from a manager shortly.. NO call that Wednesday. Thursday comes mid day I still hear nothing so I call again. The same speech is given to me about calls being made and so on and so forth. Regional Manager this and Regional Manager that!... NOTHING. So I decided to call back and cancel EVERYTHING. I called to cancel at 4:50PM... At 5:01PM NOW I get a call from the manager wanting to set up a time for install! LOL!!!! How ridiculous!! I informed him I was no longer interested and just canceled my request for services. Thanks for the call buddy! THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER!!! And when I cancel is when you want to FINALLY just pick up the phone to rectify YOUR MISTAKES?? NOOOOOOO THANKS!!!! I got my Leaf Filter system installed about 3 years ago. It was pricey and I was promised FULL 100% guarantee. However, I saw some LF folks at a recent street fest and I told them I had a lot of debris collecting on the screens. They URGED me to call the 800 number and get someone out to take care of it. I didn't think it was a big deal but I called and the sales guy was less than enthused. He told me it'll happen from time to time and that it's MY maintenance to take care of that issue. I told him I didn't see that in the paperwork and he said it was not. He could clean it "Free" this one time and would charge me $78 each time thereafter to clean them. {What??] So I had the guys out today. They spoke about 1% English and I had to tell them I had to get out of my driveway to get to an appt. [I had to resort to Spanish as they didn't understand me] They seemed to do a good job, I'll see pictures later to determine if it was good AND they installed a diverter on one spot that I didn't think was necessary and I don't know if it'll cause MORE debris to collect and become a bigger problem. A 100% guarantee - not really. And I would not have called If the LF sales people didn't really URGE me to do so. I don't feel I have to pay to maintain the system and I will be in touch with corporate over that guy's lack of concern. Had this installed one year ago. $2000 plus. Not for homes around trees on in high pollen areas. Screen constantly clogs. Have to pay twice now to clear. Also clog at 32 degrees as tiny holes freeze. Sorry I have them. Had two other systems that worked better. read more

This is a review of the installation process since I just had them installed today. I will update in a year or two. I live on a 3/4 acre lot with lots of mature trees, primarily pine, oak and holly. I had leaf guards installed when the house was built 2 1/2 years ago. There is such a build-up of debris that I had to clean them out several times each season, especially the area behind splash guards. Now I found that no matter what I do during rains the system failed and I worried about erosion of foundation on my sandy lot. That is why I looked at three different gutter systems. Leaf Filter made the most sense to me, is highest rated by Consumer Reports, and had A standing with BBB. Of the three it had the best reputation and cost was right (though not cheap) so I signed the contract last week, and it was installed today. My installer, Ben Stone, was prompt, efficient, professional, answered questions. He washed out exiting gutters, tested downspouts, and cleaned up afterwards. I am pleased so far, and if any issues arise at any time I will amend this review as needed. read more
