Most attorneys use templates for agreements but know enough to edit out other client's work. Paid my bill but do not believe I got the hours I paid for. I am sad to say that our experience with Leah Martin Law was less than sub par. We hired them for a simple transaction; move a current business entity from one state to another. After three months of nothing happening, except getting monthly charges, we inquired as to the status. Prior to hearing back from the firm, we did a quick search and found that the entity name already existed in the state we were wanting to move it to. We were shocked that the law firm wouldn't have run a search prior to taking our case, and even more shocked to know that they were not aware of this fact. Their suggestion was for us to change the entity's name. Of course after this we fired them and received our money back. About three weeks later, we received a closing letter from them dated three weeks prior. It look them three weeks to send an email and had the audacity to ask us to refer them to our family and friends. Is there anything more irritating than leaving a security deposit for legal help, Only to not be helped properly and have to chase for over a month to get your money back!! I finally got refunded but was so disappointed by the whole experience! All I needed was a legal contract to be constructed and it was taking forever! I was never able to reach the attorney!! When i needed a consultation, she was available same day...after I paid the retainer she was never available!!! I had the worst experience with leah and her staff. At first she's kind and well spoken. She promised that she can win my case without a problem because of the nature of my case. After paying the retainer, everything changed, the staff's attitude changed. It was harder to get in touch with her, I must have left 4 messages with no response. That's really aggravating especially a few days before court. Day of court she was 20 minutes late. We agreed to meet early to go over everything and that didn't happen! I was so upset I at least wanted to go over everything before stepping in front of the judge. She walked in late and looked like she just rolled out of bed!! I couldn't believe it. She was Wearing all black, and still wearing her dark sun glasses inside of the building, she kept them on until we went up in front of the judge?! Her hair was greasy and she overall had bad hygiene. I know it's non of my business how she chooses to present herself in public, but when you are representing clients, you must dress appropriately with an emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness. I was truly getting upset because i felt so unprepared and misrepresented. We lost the case and I wasted $4000 in attorney fees for nothing. I hired her to represent me and my business but the whole experience was just horrible. Please do not waste your time with leah martin law. stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she will take $1200 up front and say its a "security deposit" and find a reason to charge you so you lose that right away!!!! do not give her money unless she does something you requested. key word requested.otherwise she would assume you want her to do other things and charge you. absolutely no communication skills. if you do not manage her she will keep charging you off the hook on top of that she is not very wise when it comes to prioritizing work procedures. she will find every reason to sit in her office and say she researched for 5 hours and give you a quarter page of research results found off of google and charge you $400 per hour. when you need a consultation, she will see you same day but when you need to talk to her after she has charged you, she has no time, she is in and out of meetings all day "everyday". she is out of the office for the day, she is unavailable, she is busy, she is with a customer,etc. the list can go on and on... she will snatch your money in a heartbeat before you even know it. by the way her staff is careless....... stay away!!!!!! stay away!!!!!!! stay away!!!!!!! read more
