My girlfriend set me up with Leah two days before my wedding. I no longer live in southern California but didn't want to get my nails done to far in advance just in case they starting peeling or who knows what! I wanted the 40's style, red with half moons at bottom in gel. She did a great job on them and they looked perfect. She really took her time and cleaned up the sides of nails while she worked. Leah has been doing CND shellac on my nails since March 2011. Her high quality finished product and professionalism have never let me down. Prior to 2011 my nails had always been natural and of course my polish was continually chipping along with my nails. I usually had at least one broken nail. But since Leah's been doing my nails I have never had a broken nail and they always look great. I'm rough on them, too! CND is an amazing product and I can honestly say that my nails are just as healthy as they were 2 years ago. There's no grinding or sanding involved with CND. I was introduced to Leah by my hairstylist Danielle (while they were both at the Rose of Sharon, then Kaos and now Astoria) 2-3 years ago, and I haven't had anyone touch my nails since. I'm super hard on my nails with work and working out - most gel manicures I've had in the past would only last me about a week without lifting, chipping, cracking and peeling. I also have super thin and flimsy nails (thanks to genetics and wide nail beds), so my nails crack, rip and peel easily - somehow she's figured out a method of layering and doing her work to where my nails last 2-3 weeks with minimal or no signs of wear and tear, and little to no damage on the actual nail...and they grow out so nicely. Sometimes I want a basic color, sometimes I want artwork/design/glitter/patterns to where I can text her ideas of what I want, sometimes I walk in and say "do what you want, but I want these colors," or sometimes I'm a little more difficult and say "ummm, make them pretty...?...I like glitter today," and she comes through with a beautiful concept and final product. She has a creative mind and if she wants to test something new on me, I trust her completely. She's also very easy to work with when it comes to scheduling, just understand that you have to schedule with her IN ADVANCE - she's fantastic at what she does, so she fills up quickly! Anyone complaining about scheduling issues or her being unprofessional (not true at all) needs to understand that she is a solo nail artist with only so many hours in her workday...and believe me, she puts in a lot of hours and a lot of late days. If you don't believe her, have her bust out her scheduling book...I just scheduled 2 months in advance and the week I picked was almost full...testament to her work and work ethic!
