(Last visited 4/26/2022.) Working at my company's headquarters for a couple of weeks and a…read moreco-worker of mine mentioned that this place has AMAZING pizza and some good wings. So... I came here for lunch... then again a few days later! Lol. Atmosphere/Appearance: Located in what I thought was Excelsior, is actually Tonka Bay right off of some water is this gem. It's in a plaza with a few other businesses and a part of a private parking lot. The inside isn't too crazy. You walk in and you are greeted by grand smells of pizza cooking in their huge steel ovens! The menu is overhead and the dining area is to the left. I remember a lot of exposed wood, plastic benches and just a classic looking pizza joint. Service: I can't remember the young lady's name, but Sydney or Candace come to mind. Lol. Whoever it was that took care of us was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. However, all you do is just place your order at the counter, take the number they give you and go sit down then wait for you food to be brought out to you. Drinks are self-serve as well. Food: Throughout my visits I've had the chance to check out 3 of their wing flavors and a couple of toppings on their pizzas. The wow factor here is about big the slices are. They literally don't even fit onto a single plate. The edges hang over rim of the plate. Lol. So for lunch you can order the pizza + salad combo and it totally fills you up. The wings are also enormous and quite delicious I might add! I'd definitely get them again. Cajun and the Buffalo were my favorite, but the BBQ wasn't too bad either. Value: A single order of wings will give you 6 and it'll cost you $10.00. Double your order for $16.50. Like I mentioned, they wings are huge so I think this is a pretty good value. Any time a day you can get a cheese slice + salad + drink for only $12.50. Toppings will cost extra of course. In conclusion, I loved this place. However, coming for lunch and eating heavy makes for a slow rest of the work day. Lol. I ain't trippin' though, sometimes that's what's necessary!

A clean though I found somewhat cramped space with a not displeasing, straightforward utilitarian…read moredesign. I thought the atmosphere was redolent of great Italian aromas. Serves very good pizza, tasty sandwiches with spicy chips and flavorful, generous pasta with a slice of garlic toast.. I had a large bowl of spicy chicken fettuccine with a slice of garlic toast hanging off to one side. I found the dish to be full of flavor (and to be fair probably calories as well). I devoured the toast but took home enough leftover chicken and pasta to make a nice meal for later consumption. If dining in one orders at the counter, is issued a number stand and grabs a table or booth. Orders when ready (relatively quickly) were promptly brought out by cheerful servers. Fountain drinks, silverware, plates and paper napkins can be found at a separate stations along the wall opposite the order counter (in the midst of the dine-in portion). Ate here with my son who works nearby (shout out to Wilkes Auto) and two old friends from my college days. All left with satisfied looks on their collective faces. Based upon the number of people milling around awaiting their respective orders as well as the steady stream of customers in and out of the main entrance (on a weekday evening no less) Joey Nova's appears to do a brisk take out business.

This past Father's Day my mom and I had brunch at Layline. It was a special place for us because my…read moredad owned the building before it was Gary's first class car care. My dad passed 8/30/2024 so we came to have breakfast in his old shop to celebrate him. I loved how they kept the building as is with some additions and lovely upgrades. The bar area and some seating is located in the previous two stall garage. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing!

This is it--the perfect place for a summer meal. From the amazing food and great service (thanks,…read moreTheresa!) to the stellar patio, Layline delivers an absolutely amazing experience. If I had found this place earlier this summer, I probably would have spent many happy evenings here. (I truly can't emphasize how well this restaurant captures summer vibes.) The menu was great and ticked all the boxes, taking advantage of the bounty and mood of the season. For our starters, we ordered the arancini and the johnnycake. Both were delicious. The arincini was crispy on the outside and oozed with creamy cheese. The romesco sauce complemented it perfectly. The johnnycake was fluffy and delicious and had the perfect balance of sweet and salty (don't skip the jalapeño infused maple syrup--it isn't spicy; it's just an extension of the sweet and savory balance). For our salads/veggies, we split the last three on the menu: the cauliflower, the Brussels sprouts, and the watermelon salad. My friends, don't skip any one of these. The cauliflower is a cauliflower steak that is perfectly cooked (be sure you get a lovely toasty bit!) and made for delicious savory-salty-tangy mouthful with its tomatoes and onions. Doenjang and tahini? Heck yes! The sprouts were covered in a spectacular mojo verde (imagine what pesto would be if it were Indian and you'd not be far off) that was a creative and absolutely apt pairing. As for the watermelon salad, it was all summer: chunks of watermelon, crumbles of feta, basil, hazelnut, and rings of Calabrian chili. It tasted exactly like relaxing on the porch with your most sophisticated but still totally chill bestie. For my main, I ordered the linguine pomodoro e vodka. Dude. It was so stinking good. I love a good tomato sauce, and this one did not disappoint. Crispy breadcrumbs? Yes. Mint and basil? Yes and yes. Chili oil? Heck yeah! This packed a punch and was an absolutely glorious foil for the burrata. As for dessert, I went for the crème brûlée. It was really good! It was rich and creamy (almost buttery) and absolutely chock-full of vanilla bean. Very good indeed.

I'm not quite sure what I was expecting but not something this stellar!…read more I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Taco, and it was a flavor bomb! The shrimp were very flavorful and the whole thing just came together nicely. Yum! Second was a kid's menu Quesadilla with ground beef which needed absolutely zero sauce because the meat was so well-seasoned. The tortilla was soft and nicely grilled. A definite winner. It came with beans and rice on the side, neither of which was special. The take on Street Corn was different, a soda cup of corn with the street toppings on top and layered in the middle. The sauce tasted like mayonnaise and I didn't care for it. It was like canned corn with some stuff on it, but one miss on an otherwise home run of a meal wasn't bad. The Queso Blanco was a perfect consistency and the chips were good if lacking salt. Note that the queso is about 1/4 cup, a small portion perfect for me. I tasted all three salsas and loved them, especially the salsa verde.

Came for the chicken and, while it tasted good, it didn't taste like anything different compared to other grilled chicken restaurants. It tasted as though the flavor/seasoning was only on the surface (skin) but not yet had time to penetrate the meat. Enjoyed sitting outside, dipping the chicken in the variety of salsas from the salsa bar! Very flavorful sauces! Next time I'm in the area, I'll come back and try the chicken again with some tacos.
