The inside is still as clean and organized as it's always been. It's inviting to read, work, or meet a friend. The staff is always friendly and so patient as I usually second-guess what I want when I'm standing at the register - it all looks so good! I am elated Breakfast is now ALL DAY!! The Brekkie Wrap is my go-to, as is the Daily Detox juice. Usually I place a mobile order and they are always on it. The order has always been right and ready on-time too. We learned that Hugs Cafe is a nonprofit that employs adults with disabilities, which made us want to support them even more. We had the Reuben, the Peach Gobbler, and the potato salad and everything was absolutely amazing. The jams used on the sandwiches were so unique and sweet, and they paired extremely well with the meat on each sandwich. Every bite was flavorful and clearly made with care. The potato salad was also delicious and the perfect side to our meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could truly feel the heart behind this place. If you're in the area, this is definitely a spot worth visiting as it has great food and an even greater purpose behind it!

Perfect spot for breakfast or lunch -- just don't sleep in too late because they close at 3pm! I grabbed a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a drink for around $15, which felt like a steal considering the good vibes included free of charge. Everyone working there genuinely seemed happy to be there, and the enthusiasm was so strong we actually had to defend our food from an adorably overachieving employee trying to clear the table before we were finished. Honestly, if the whole world had that level of work ethic, we'd all be retired by now. Do yourself a favor and stop by Hugs -- good food, amazing mission, and enough positivity to restore your faith in humanity for at least the rest of the afternoon!

Five people could've easily sent here, but I want the hopeful to myself. I could see the whole restaurant from sitting right where I am and it feels perfect. I just stopped in for a quick bite to eat, hoping to get some fried rice and I came in and found my favorite thing on the menu... bang bang shrimp... and there is such a backstory for me and bang bang shrimp but just numb last night my family chose to go to Olive Garden instead of going to bonefish Grill. I really want a bang bang shrimp and today guess what I ordered??? you got it bang bang shrimp!!! and it came out first before the other entrée which was veggie fried rice. My bill is about $27 and that's fine because I'm the main character of the story and every grain of rice was worth it. Perfect place for a self-care day that I stumbled across. Oh and let me not forget my server, Ajah. She was so adorable and so kind. I just wanted to take her home and put her in my pocket and pull her out anytime I need to pick me up or Bestie to talk to. The food was beyond delicious and the service was beyond great 10 out of 10, but definitely come back again!!!

3.5 The food wasn't bad but I've just been to other places…read morein McKinney that had better selections for sushi. TLDR: Their menu was massive with so many different options which I think is good for people who want to try different things but it may be a little too big of a menu. Food was just ok. It may be beneficial to lessen items on menu and really focus on some key dishes they want to highlight. Everything imo was priced a little on the high side, at least $1-2 more than I would pay for the quality of the dish. They do pack their specialty rolls with a lot of ingredients and with inflation I'm sure they priced it accordingly to keep their business running, so I'm not docking off too much points for that. Review: They offered regular sushi rolls but disappointing to see that yellowtail was not on their menu for rolls (they did have it as an option for 2pc sushi/sashimi). I ordered a smoked salmon 2pc sushi which was pretty good and decently sized so probably worth the ~$5 price point for 2pc. I did not order any other ones from the 2pc menu so not sure if all the fish are portioned that way. Regarding their regular rolls, my husband enjoyed the Philadelphia rolls and said he could taste the smoked salmon, so for both of us a win on the smoked salmon. My other order was part of their specialty rolls...Salmon Lover priced at ~$13 with 8pc. Imo the pieces were quite small for a specialty roll and it tasted ok. There was supposed to be a honey wasabi sauce on there which I felt like was overpowered by the amount of spicy mayo on the dish. I wanted to like it so badly but I figured reading off of the ingredients list that it would have a kick to it, and it did not. It's not marked as a spicy roll, so probably not intended to be spicy? But with spicy mayo and jalapeño surely there would be some mild kick to it, and the flavor just kinda fell flat and tasted like...too much mayo. The highlight of this experience was the service. The young lady who took our order was super nice and cheery. Checked up on us at appropriate times and I saw she was also working on other tasks around the restaurant. I am willing to try this place again in the future as the vibes were nice, it def gives Japanese izakaya and looks like a good place to have dinner with some friends. Maybe I'll try their ramen instead next time!
