Summit prepared me greatly for college as I now attend a prestigious university where I am making exceptional grades. All of the faculty and staff go above and beyond to care for students. The Christian community fosters more of family like community amongst peers. I would recommend this school to anyone and everyone!

TW: racism and micro aggression…read more We enrolled our daughter in the summer camp as a trial for the August enrollment, but we were deeply disappointed and concerned by the discriminatory treatment we experienced as an Asian American family. On Tuesday of the second week, our daughter contracted lice at the camp. We promptly notified the school and informed them that our daughter had observed other children experiencing itching symptoms. Since our other two children attend a different daycare and no one else in our family had lice, it was evident that the infestation originated from the camp. We took immediate action by treating our daughter and keeping her home the following day to prevent the spread of lice to other children. The initial response from the school was to require clearance from a pediatrician before allowing our daughter to return, a requirement that was not imposed on other children. However, upon consulting our pediatrician, we were informed that such clearance was unnecessary. We relayed this information to the school, and they school finally relented. In addition, the school deliberately chose not to inform other parents about the lice infestation, thereby denying them the opportunity to make informed decisions for their children's well-being. We made multiple attempts to contact the school through phone calls, text messages, and emails to obtain updates on the situation. We sought clarification on the actions taken by the school and inquired if other children had been checked and removed from the class. Regrettably, our communication was met with silence. Despite assurances from the receptionist that we would receive a call back within the day, we never received any response. Eventually, the school sent an email stating that the information was confidential. Our primary concern was to understand the current situation so that we could make appropriate arrangements for our daughter the following school day. Instead of addressing our questions and concerns, the school chose to ignore us. It is unimaginable to entrust your child to a school where you are unable to establish contact for an entire day. Such disregard for communication and the mistreatment we encountered are wholly unacceptable. The prevailing demographic makeup of predominantly white students and faculty within the school, combined with the treatment we experienced, left us feeling dehumanized. I also emailed them 4 times regarding an overcharge and after 6 days still no response. If you're looking for diversity, morals, kindness and inclusivity, look elsewhere.

Her studio itself is a work of art, so you are inspired as soon as you step onto her property tucked up a hilltop with Lake Travis in the background! Amber does a wide range of art mediums for both children and adults. And we learned she does summer camps too! I would check this place out no matter how old you are- it's worth going to!!!

Mrs. Gordon communicated everything so well, we knew exactly what to expect and how to prepare for the party. Her structure helped the party run smoothly...well-oiled machine! The girls rain wild. Splatter painted every inch of the room, themselves, and their canvas - followed by the water slide and foam cannon. Honestly, the perfect combo! Even my 12 yr old son jumped in on the fun. I cannot recommend the art barn enough...the moms are talking about the adult retreat next!! Bonus: Mrs. Gordon documents the whole experience by capturing the best pictures and sharing them immediately! Double bonus there is an arcade room my son enjoyed...no one was bored on her watch!

$20k per year tuition fees with super average curriculum execution…read more As a parent expect to receive multiple extremely long winded emails every day requesting you make/bring something to school - I would count myself as very organized yet found it extremely difficult to keep up with all their requests Unusually high Headmaster attrition - we had 3 different Headmasters in 1 year - not a great sign Worst part of the experience was when we ended up needing to move a new town outside Austin and a new school - when I cancelled (2 months before the beginning of the school year) - IST insisted on not only keeping my deposit (I absolutely understand this) but the tuition fees I paid in advance. The school year wasn't even close to starting! For a not-for-profit this is a fairly shameful business practice and a terrible moral example to our children. After I explained my position to the (at least right now current) head Brian he looked me in the eye and agreed the tuition fee refund I was asking for was fair - to which he then sent an email days later rescinding this and denying me a refund. Shady beyond belief. For these reasons I would not recommend sending your child to IST.

We switched mid year from a disappointing experience at public school and can't even compare the two as it's night and day experience. We love the focus on community and that families are so involved and connected. I also love that every single person on campus from teachers to admin know our whole families names and help us feel so welcome and loved. I'm so grateful this curriculum exists and look forward to many wonderful years ahead.

I unfortunately cannot recommend. First day of drop off after 2+ months of email communication…read moreregarding my kiddos first day and the front desk had no idea we were starting, so that was fun. The teachers looked surprised when my kids were walked to their classrooms and because admin forgot my children were starting we didn't have access to their app for updates. It was a horrible first impression. Now, I am a very forgiving person so I tried to realize mistakes happen but then I noticed during pickup, my eldest child's class was always sitting watching a tiny computer screen in the classroom while the teacher was in the back on her phone (for reference I did pick up at different times to test the theory). The director never acknowledged me or my children in the 2 weeks we attended there. I guess you would think with the place being on the smaller side she would have noticed a new family and at least said hello. I couldn't dis-enroll my children fast enough. I will say someone from higher up admin did call me after I submitted to dis-enroll and she was very very apologetic so I can at least appreciate that.
