I would not recommend you to send your children here. My stepson has attends this school and in many instances my wife has not been informed when our son is injured or hurt. When they had a Hands, Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak parents were not informed until it was already contracted by many kids. Right before we pulled our son out the had a teacher that struck a child and once informed they still allowed the teacher to work and later, wrote up and fired the teacher that informed them. School Review This daycare is extremely unprofessional! There have been many incidents in which they have failed to tell me when my son was injured. One extreme example was when my son was sent home limping, and when brought to the Emergency Room, I was told he had a sprained knee. When brought to the school's attention, they couldn't tell me when, where, or how it happened or even noticed that he was limping. Another incident that occurred was that my son came home with many scratches and marks, and nobody knows how, nor was I contacted. My son is also always having to go to the doctor due to being sick. He has many times had other children's sippy cups in his mouth and even once was sent home with somebody else's bottle. They recently had a hands, feet, and mouth breakout in which they did not inform the parents until 15 children had passed and received it. Due to my son contracting hands, feet, and mouth, I had to miss a week's worth of work, as well as my son was not able to go in. The daycare wanted me to still pay the full amount for him missing. The most concerning incident that has recently occurred is that we had found out that a teacher struck a child, and when the school was informed, the school still allowed the teacher to be present while they investigated, even though they have cameras and there should be no excuse. When the teacher that informed the school returned to work, she was written up and a few days later fired. My son has picked up the behavior of biting and hitting since starting at the daycare. read more

Please do your research before signing up your babies to specific daycares my grandson attended leap ahead and it was one of the most disturbing situations I have gone through. The teachers here most of them stick together to cover up the neglect that is happening at the school which is unethical and not putting the Children First. My grandson has had scrapes bruises and bug bites that are unexplainable by all the staff on top of that he has also had a sprained knee and no one could explain what had happened and in another situation they found a condom in the playground in one of the children mouths which is absolutely disgusting and hazardous due to not cleaning the play area properly. Also they had a huge outbreak with foot hand and mouth disease with about 15 cases. On the last day that he attended I was informed by another mother that they had another Breakout of hand foot and mouth disease. Another mother also informed us that they do not respect the allergy diets of each child. I have also witness along with other mothers children on top of the tables cabinets and the teachers not paying attention. My grandbaby also was constantly sick due to them allowing other children that are sick not to be sent home. He also had rashes due to not changing him often many times he came home soiled. And on the last day that I decided to take my grandbaby out there was an incident where a teacher had struck a two-year-old and was not removed immediately from the facility for safety of the children. Horrible daycare and horrible environment. I don't recommend this school to anyone. My child only lasted a month here . My child had a scratch and bump to his face and I wasn't notified nor was there a report made. When asked nobody knew anything. They are not paying attention to the kids nor were they able to pull up any cameras to resolve the issue .they lack communication heavily.My son threw up and I sent him with 3 extra clothes and he was not changed. Lastly they put a soiled diaper in his bookpack. Also When leaving the school I saw one of the teachers being rough with one the kids at the playground . This daycare has been such a nightmare. They would tell me my child was doing good but he cried every single morning when dropping him off. Please do proper research when putting your child in a daycare. This is a horrible environment for any child. No one speaks English except the director. They accept ELC which my daughter has, but they still took $450 from her 2 days before the ELC transferred and then decided to kick him out saying he is too aggressive. They don't allow ANY parent to actually enter the school. You have to drop them off outside of the school and someone takes them inside. My grandson is going through ABA therapy for speech and is shadowed by the therapist for 4 hours each day 8-12. The therapist informed me of all the lies I was told on day 1. They do not take him to the toilet at all, since he doesn't ask. He came home raw and chaffed on day 1. They lied about the ratio of teachers to students, stating there is only 11-15 children in his class, when in fact there was 28-30. The fact that no one speaks English is an issue for a normal toddler, how is anyone going to tach your child anything if they cant even communicate with them. I will be calling DCF to start a case, to call this a learning school is honestly a travesty. The director, who is the only English speaking person is on vacation for a week while all this is going on, the teachers don't like the fact that someone is in the class holding them accountable for what and how they treat the children. Which is also why no one is allowed into this center. As a parent, you should be able to talk to the teachers about how your child's day went, but here they keep everything a secret and tell you nothing! When the therapist approached the teachers, the reply was "why did you tell the mom about these things" (in Spanish of course, our therapist is multi lingual so can understand well).. well because the child is my responsibility not your lies! Stay as far away from here. I'm sure they are going to keep the $450 that was paid, because they are frauds and don't care about the child... only the money! Lunch was cold daily, diapers not changed at all... rude staff to the therapist... just why. Schools like this should lose their license as quickly as they steal your money! read more

The school is trash , the employees need to be trained better at the front desk , the security system is trash . The fingerprint machine to enter the classrooms is either broken or the front door is always open !! The teachers in the 1 year old class they are amazing .thats the only reason why they got a star. I wish I didn't have to do this because I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews, but I cannot in good faith do otherwise. My child has been going to this daycare for over 2 years. In the beginning it was great. I felt the staff was attentive, courteous, and really on the ball. But these past few months, things went down hill. First the teacher turn around is amazing. In the last 2 months my child has had 6 different teachers. Some child at the school cut my child's hair AT THE SCALP!! I didn't find out until that night when I washed her hair. I took the barrette off and a long thick swatch of hair fell off on the floor. Why are they not watching 4 year olds when they have sharp objects a little closer? You mean to tell me no one say this happening? Where was the supervision? When this was brought up to the staff, they made note of it but that was about it. Now going back to teacher turnaround, the last teacher, Janissa, was the worst. I believe there must have been some sort of personality conflict between my child and this Janissa person. My child began acting out in school. Being that she is 4 sometimes kids do have tantrums. I had to leave work and pick her up several times for "bad behavior". But the bad behavior was reported to me as throwing scissors, (unsupervised sharp objects again), throwing chairs, throwing books, dumping Legos and things like that. These incidents always revolved around an altercation with this Janissa person. The last time they reported to me that my child had thrown over a table, hit the teacher (Janissa), knocked over a bookcase (why was it not secured...hmmm) and caused all sorts of destruction. We went to pick her up and were told she could not return. She was kicked out for bad behavior. Fine, I have no problem with that if my child is a disruption then OK, out she goes. But we questioned this because something did not seem right with their scenario. First of all my child is not the Incredible Hulk. She is on the tiny side for her age group and very slim. I saw the table in question and it was a rather large table. Plus I asked her 5 different times, and 5 different ways what happened and she told me she was crying but she did not do any of the things they said. My husband went up to the school and asked to speak to the owner. He said he wanted to look at the tapes so he could see for himself what really happened. The owner said he couldn't due to privacy laws to protect the other kids. But he said he would review it. Well the next day, what do you think? This jack ass stated he reviewed the tapes and there must have been a communication breakdown because the things on the report DID NOT HAPPEN!!! He said he watched the tapes several times and all he saw was her crying and having a 4 year old tantrum, He apologized and said she could come back. UMMM I DON"T THINK SO BUDDY!!! WOW I am still shocked. Do you think for one minute I would let you and your sorry business anywhere near my child now? I am not stupid. We found a really great school that actually teaches the kids and doesn't just house them. All I am asking is that you really do your homework when considering this place. Remember one thing, my child was not a new arrival to the school. She had been there for at least 2 years before this happened. The new staff leaves a whole lot to be desired. And the owner should be careful next time when accusations are thrown against a child. There should be protocol when you ask a child to leave. How about looking at the tapes first?? After recieving custody of a family infant, the journey began for daycare...This was the first and last stop... It smelled like home not a day care center. All the staff are warm ,caring. My son was going there for a few weeks and they kept calling me to come get him because he's energetic and likes to move around. The name of this Center does not describe their method of care and learning section of childcare. They should call it Leap Backward Learning Center. I was going to enroll my baby into this center and they made a big deal of giving my baby table food. And when I told them I would give them Sam's size diaper box for my daughter they complain about storage and I should basically figure out the number that she would use during the week, which turn me completely off. To me and my family this place was completely awesome! The staff is very nice and kind, the only hiccup I had was there were too many kids per class (it was all legal) they had enough teachers but hard to give attention to those who need it. Most of staff as well as kids speak Portuguese but everyone was nice. The hours of this place are unbeatable, you can actually have a real job! This is NOT the place to take your child for various reasons. I should have pulled my son out twice already before today but I made excuses in my head and didn't. On his first full day, after spending a lot of time filling out a ton of paperwork stating my son could not have milk of any kind due to health reasons and that I would be providing his drinks each day, they not only gave him milk but made him drink it even after he told them himself that he wasn't supposed to have it and even though I sent him with a drink. I let it go and chalked it up to it being his first day but that should have been a sign of how the facility operates. Then a few months later I personally witnessed one of the teachers spraying a child in the face with a water bottle. I was blown away. I thought I had to be seeing things. When I asked my son about it he said yes that's what happens if they don't listen. I asked if he has ever been sprayed in the face and he said no. So instead of doing what I should have and listening to the advice of others that since it wasn't my child there was not much I could do, I just reached out to all the parents I knew at the time to give them a heads up and told my son that if he was ever sprayed in the face to tell me immediately. Today I was charged a late fee and it was just the final straw. We left last week to go out of town for Mother's Day and due to my car breaking down while out of town did not make it back by Monday as planned. I pulled my son out today after the money hungry owners refused to not charge me even though he hasn't attended since last Wednesday. Their policy states if you don't pay by Monday you get a late fee. I could understand that if he was physically present and its not like I didn't have money in hand for the full week today. Not to mention they do NOT accept credit card payments of any kind. So its not like calling and paying over the phone is an option. Life happens and sometimes unexpected things happen but they don't care about anything but their money. Not taking a credit card is ridiculously inconvenient for business or traveling parents as it is. When asked about their reasoning the owner flat out stated that the fees were too high for them. I own a business so I am aware of the fees and its about making it convenient for your clients, this is 2016!!! But its about their convenience and money, not yours. Their only response, "well, I suggest you set up automatic payments with your bank." Wow, so you feel like its okay to tell another adult how to bank, that is the craziest thing I have ever heard. This place is ridiculous. The ONLY positive thing I will say is that MS. Flavia is WONDERFUL, she is the director. Hopefully she moves on to a better facility one day. read more

If you are considering this daycare please read my email to the president which i have yet to hear a response Good afternoon, I am sending this email to inform you my will no longer be attending your facility Leap Ahead. I wanted to go into detail as to why. I enrolled my son in February and now it is only August. So in a short 6 months my 1 year old has gotten pink eye at least 5 times. I had him admitted in the emergency room at least 9 times. In 6 months my son has gotten numerous viruses. During the month of July my son had caught a virus so bad he wasn't able to hold any food down and had constant diarrhea for 10 days. During that time my 1 year old lost 5 pounds. Do you realize how severe 5 pounds is for a 1 year old? So severe i had to have my son have a check up every 2 weeks to ensure he was gaining weight. Which was hard because he keep getting sick from your daycare every 2 weeks. After he was well he return to daycare and i requested a to have a meeting with you via class dojo. I have yet to hear a reply. Your staff had ignored a few of my simple request like issues with the online payment and sending me photos of my son so i can see his simile. I am starting a photo of the screen shot I also know that dojo was indeed working and your staff was blantly ignoring me. Your staff has also ignored my request in person because i had asked the girl in the morning who sits in the front that i wanted to have a meeting with you. And for the past 2 weeks i had asked to fix the check in and out since the machine kept giving me a message. That is still not fixed. When i first enrolled my son he would always be extremely hungry like he didn't eat. So i would pick him up i would always ask how he did that day, how he ate, and how he napped. I was never able to get an answer because no one would know. That is until you hired a new teacher for my son's class. She keeps notes and is honest. She would tell me if he didn't eat so well and when he did. So I wanted to speak to you about the hygiene practices in your facility because during the last few months i have been keeping a very close eye. I noticed that a lot of the children constantly have watery eyes, dark circles under their eyes, wet and dry boogies on their faces, constant coughing and sneezing. I also observed that staff would constantly come in with flu like symptoms and interact with the kids. I noticed that the lids to garbage containers are sometimes open and in reach of the children. I have seen kids drinking out of containers that are not theirs and the staff would see it and not wash it out. I have seen kids put toys in their mouths and the item not be washed out. I have seen staff spray aerosol spray in front of the kids. Most days when i would drop off my son the room would smell like dirty mop water. All of the toys provided for the kids to play with look like they have never been washed and are very dingy and/or have a build up of dirt. I also find it unsettling that the only time the room was somehow redone is when you were getting a renewal for an accreditation. However the only difference i seen is more labels were added to the room. All of those factors contributed to the countless times my son got sick . I also wanted to mention some of the information i found searching through public records on leap ahead. The complaint filed by a father and failed inspection on your facility. I have taken numerous days off work without pay due to my son being sick that was caused by your unsanitary facility. All the while i paid the tuition in full. You also raised your prices without fair warning and blamed it on your new accreditation. Let me tell you that your accreditation doesn't mean anything to me when you can't even provide the bare minimum of hygiene practices to keep kids from getting sick. This is why i am removing my son from leap ahead. I would rather pay higher prices at a more reputable facility then to keep my son another day. My son has been going to Leap Ahead since 3 moths old, and thank God new owners took over this wonderful childcare this year (now he is 4 years old), with that they aggressively changed the curriculum for the better. Before was like just paying someone to babysit your child, and we were decided in looking for another daycare so he could learn something other than colors and new songs, but we had hope, and now I really feel the change about his learning education and I am impressed on how much he learned since the transition. With all new professionals my child has a more didactic classes, daily evaluations and feedbacks from his educators, they improved on security such as an app that you can see your child doing activities during the day, they improved the kids menu so they can have a more nutritious meals and more. Of course the most important is how my kid loves to be there and his teachers. And it doesn't stop there, as their goal is not to be one of the best but to be the best. Leap Ahead Learning Center is a childcare and educational facility that provides programs designed to support children's development and discovery of talents and abilities. The center does encourage the academic and spiritual development of the students in a warm, loving and nurturing environment and I couldn't be happier. read more
