We had a wonderful experience for the two and a half years our child attended Future Kids for daycare. The school is clean and very secure. We liked the playground in particular as it was very well shaded by trees. The smaller class sizes created a more intimate learning environment. Most importantly, Ms. Sheela and her team of teachers were all great. Our daughter started there at a young age and grew tremendously in her time at Future Kids. All the teachers from Ms. Eshani, to Ms. Paula and Ms. Patty were all extremely kind and patient. They always took time to discuss how the day went and how our daughter was doing. It was very apparent that they cared about each child and their individual progress. We always felt our daughter was truly cared for and in good hands. Ms. Sheela is the owner, she is incredibly kind and is on-site a lot of days and actively involved. The teachers are so great and patient with my kids, my babies look forward to going to "school" everyday. They do many activities and fun games, have healthy snacks, and are on a schedule . My son has been going to this daycare since 2019. Honestly; it's a really good place. My kiddo is 2.50 and READING - the teachers are great. For the price you pay per month it's not that bad and your kid will actually learn and retain knowledge. The director is tough and the kids show her respect. My son hasn't picked up on any bad behaviours since attendance. I give this place a lot of credit. I was worried that my son wasn't going to learn and just play all day but, I was wrong. His outside teachers are impressed by his academics. Highly recommended. Also, they take kids getting sick at this place pretty seriously. He's got sick a few times but, it's normal in these types of environments. Looking forward to keeping my kid in here for another few months. The owner Sheila said she couldn't handle him because he cried when he couldn't go outside. Called my daughter several days to pick him up...final straw was while observing the school, my daughter observed the owner shoving my grandson and yelling that she needs to take him home...said she prefers kids who don't cry and will do what she says...he is two...they require you to bring in diapers and put your kids name on EVERYTHING and he twice came home with someone else's diapers and most of his food still in his lunch box...they feed kids snacks such as chocolate and marshmallows directly from the table...even dogs get fed better.DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE...they only want the money...we filed a formal complaint and hopefully they get a surprise visit...there is a 12-1 ratio for the children the two other teachers she has is an elderly woman and a pregnant woman who can barely handle toddlers...our kids deserve better!!! read more

There is a reason why this daycare has availability while others have a year+ waitlist. 30 minutes before our scheduled tour, I received a call from the daycare and the woman says she's calling to reschedule the tour. She didn't give any reason or an apology. I was so confused! Then she says "if you can't reschedule, I'll just wait for you." I said I would prefer to keep our tour time so she said ok, she'll wait. This already gave me a bad first impression. What do you mean "you'll wait"? Our tour was scheduled during their normal business hours. It's not like they were staying late to accommodate us. Or maybe the woman was trying to leave early for the day? No idea but it was annoying and unprofessional. We get to the daycare and a woman comes to open the gate. She doesn't introduce herself and instead just leads us to a room and showed us where they keep food, the cribs and where they change diapers. She doesn't go over any schedule, curriculum or anything else. I asked her what is the teacher to child ratio and she didn't understand. I had to explain it to her and then she replied "oh I'm the teacher". Yikes! It was a basic question that I would expect a teacher to know. When we asked her about tuition, she said that we would need to speak to the director. It seems strange that she couldn't tell us or have a handout with this information. We thanked the woman for the tour and headed out. We walked to the gate, which requires a code to leave, and waited for her to let us out but she doesn't come. My husband goes over to ask her to let us out and she just tells him the code! Who tells a stranger the gate code?! This is supposed to be a secure place where children are! I am HORRIFIED by this whole experience. This daycare seems extremely unprofessional and I would not feel safe sending my child here. read more

This is a long overdue review. First & foremost, I am 100% the kind of parent that does not trust her kids with anyone, even some family. I was skeptical about putting my daughter in any daycare. However, my hours changed at work & it would now require me to now seek a daycare for my daughter. As soon as we saw the facility, I was pleased (although I wasn't ready to admit it LOL). One thing about me is I'm very observant & skeptical. I was pretty much "looking" for a reason to not put my daughter in daycare lol As I was touring the facility, I wasn't solely weighing in on what the teachers & owner were telling me; I was weighing in on seeing how happy the children were, how engaged they were, & how everything was structured - playtime, lunch time, naptime, crafts, what they are learning, etc. My daughter just turned 2 at the time, & prior to that, she had been with me everyday, so this transition was really difficult for both of us. But, as parents, we need to do what we have to do. I decided to enroll her. As expected, she cried for the first few weeks upon drop off. But with how compassionate & attentive the staff was, she would be okay shortly after. The teachers & Ms Sheela would send me photos of her playing with the other kids, which was so helpful as I, too, was in this transition of my child being in a daycare. It gave me so much comfort & put my mind at ease. My daughter is now 3, & not only am i impressed with how well she talks, draws, & knows; but she is also writing letters & her name. Her motor skills are so impressive, & I'm always told by other moms & her doctors that she speaks so well. I did read some of the negative reviews, & although I can't speak for them - as a person who was "looking" for reasons to not put my child in daycare - FKLA has definitely earned my trust, as a mom. And THAT is quite difficult to do. I've even had my friends children start going here, because as moms, it's hard to trust your children with anyone. My friends love this facility & are also so grateful for FKLA. Bottom line - they have been patient, compassionate, kind, loving, & nourishing with my daughter. This is a long overdue review for this amazing place. I had both of my kids go here, my son graduating from here and shortly after my daughter attended for a short period of time before COVID hit. The staff here is amazing. They are very knowledgeable, professional, and they have the most amazing relationships I've seen with the kids that go here. The facility has a lot of open space for outdoor play time, and the inside/classrooms are just as spacious. Both my kids have learned a lot during their time here, and I'm so grateful that they got spend some time here. Unfortunately due to our housing situation my husband and I decided to pull my daughters enrollment for the safety of the others living in our house, but if circumstances were different I would have definitely kept her in until she was ready to go into TK. My daughter went here front the age of 1yr and 10months until she went to kindergarten at 5 years old. I have nothing but great things to say about this daycare. My daughter grew so much and learned so many things. They are always doing lots of different activities and play time. Every month she had a huge folder to bring home of all her work. It's amazing the difference we've noticed in our child since enrolling in Future Kids Learning Academy! Her behavior has calmed, she has learned discipline and best of all she's happy and tired when she gets home. I couldn't be happier with the staff and owner Sheela. She runs a tight ship and will make sure everyone is happy and learning! The staff shows genuine care and affection towards all kids attending and takes the time to learn each of their behavioral patterns and make them stronger learners! The facility is always clean, as well as the yard. Older kids are kept separate from younger kids and safety is always a priority! I really appreciate the daily chart we receive. It tells us what and how much she eats, when and how long she naps and her bowel movements. Each child gets their own cubby and the staff ensures that all supplies are use for that specific child. By the end of each week we are notified which supplies are low and are given her linens to clean and bring back the following week. I am very grateful that such care is given at this academy! I didn't trust many with the responsibility of caring for my infant son when I decided to return back to work after giving birth. I toured many facilities in the area and checked their yelp reviews to help me decide which child care I would choose. When I pulled up I was like "it's at a house, staring at my husband?" He looked discouraged so I continued with the tour. We were greeted by Ms. Candy who had a clean presentation and treated us very respectfully which allowed me to actually consider allowing my son to enroll. Moral of the story is everyone want their children to be safe. I choose this school because of the presentation. It was clean, the children didn't have runny noses, and I didn't hear crying uncontrollably for the babies and all three things are my pet peeve! After touring the facility allowed me to trust the teachers and feel the since of comfort that my son will be alright here. Mrs. Sheila who is the owner is awesome! She has open communication with the parents, she has consistency with her staff and they all work to serve the children. Ms. Tina is super awesome with her caring, and loving spirit. This was the first school i toured when I was searching for a preschool for my daughter. I scheduled and appointment to come see the school. I get out of a my car and the owner comes out of her house (located in front of the school) and says, "go to the back". Not a more welcoming greeting like, "Hi I'm so and so, nice to meet you". The school itself is very nice, super clean and very organized. The 3 Stars are for the facility and the staff, which were very friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up not enrolling my daughter here because of the following reasons: 1. When we sat down to review pricing, the owner bluntly asked me if I could afford it. When I told her I was still looking at other areas closer to my work in Manhattan Beach, she assured my I wouldn't find for less, which I did. 2. The pricing was significantly higher than other preschools I later looked at ($1,800 a month) 3. The owner made a strange comment about my daughter not being potty trained (she's 2). I honestly felt like she was just trying to get another kid on the list. I'm sure program is great, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. read more

My daughter has been in their infant care group since she was 3 month old, and she loves it there! She's made friends with the teachers and the other babies, you can see it in their faces when they see each other. Ms. Sheela and the teachers are very experienced and always looking out for the kids. They give us tips and always make sure to know what is going on with our little angel when they notice she has a scratch or doesn't seem to be feeling well. Also they hold the most adorable events for the kids! Plus they are very conscious of the kids safety. They always make sure that whoever is picking up our daughter is on an approved list, and when things got personally rocky, they listened to my concerns and have been honoring the restraining order I've had to get. Unfortunately I can't give this school any stars past 1 star. And the one star is simply for answering the phone . My first encounter with this school was HORRIBLE and I was very appalled by the response and treatment I received . I found this school on yelp and the few reviews it showed were all good , not to mention they had 5 stars . Which kind of leads me to believe these are not real reviews after my experience . Yelp provided me the opportunity to search the website . However , the website was a mixture between English and Spanish (not both). I can only read English and had a hard time trying to identify information on the pages that was only Spanish . I decided to call the school and receive verbal information . Upon calling I was greeted by the school director who after asking identified herself as Ms.Sheila or Ms. Shirley ( I am not 100% sure however other ppl have mentioned her name in previous reviews so I am sure this was her ) . I immediately informed her that I wanted to ask a few questions about he school and I attempted to review the website however the majority of the information was in Spanish . She immediately laughed and said "no it's just the first page and it's under construction ". It is more than one page , in fact it is not the first page at all. However , I didn't want to make a debate out of it so I continued to move forward with my questions . Eventually I asked her about the monthly price for a child to attend her school full time . ( HER RESPONSE IS WHY I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW TODAY ) In response to my question she says , " do you have crystal stairs or any government assistance " I informed her I didn't and that I was a working parent . She then asked me again and I responded again saying no . She then says" well I charge $825 a month ". I informed her that not everyone is on the county or receives government assistance . Some people matter of fact most people in this world get up and work everyday and want more than $600 a month . She laughed and asked could she make me an appointment to come and see the school . Of course I declined . This review is just to let people know the stereotype and outlook that this owner has on people . I am a working mother and me and my husband make well over $100,000 a year each. I have never in my life received any government assistance and don't come from a family of that background . However , dealing with other races as a black person you are automatically sought out to be on the county ..... WRONG !!! I will never give anyone my money with such a small and ignorant mindset and I am highly offended . Both of my boys attended Future Kids for multiple years, and they, and my wife/I LOVED it. We were treated like family, and to this day (boys are 8 & 10 now), we keep in touch. I'm a teacher, and I feel that my boys were well prepared for kindergarten due to the curriculum that was taught here, and the staff members are kind and caring. Sheela is the BEST, and even had evenings that were setup so that parents could do a date night, as well as doing special things for the holidays (Santa Claus, kid performances, etc). The negative review that Kik wrote made me chuckle, because Sheela was probably asking about government programs so that she could help/accommodate the family if necessary. Yes, she's that type of person, and it's that type of day-care/preschool. I was not paid, nor asked to write this review, and I'm actually mad at myself for not having written one earlier (or did I, it's been many years?). Kik's loss on this one! I have referred many people here, and will continue to do so, as long as Sheela and family are in charge of it. My son loves this day care! He's been here for nearly four years since he was three years old. They have an excellent enriched program where they prepare the children academically (and socially) for the next grade level. The teachers are interactive with the children and are very caring and loving. The staff are involve with the parents as well. The facility is large with a play area and clean. Back then, they had an after school program where they offered morning drop offs and pick ups at local schools and helped with daily homework which was great for me (working full time). I am grateful that Ms. Sheela offered this until the very end. This year was his last year since he outgrew the program. I can tell you that he have fond memories and talks about them occasionally (including Ms. Candy, Nala et all :)). I highly recommend this day care. I can trust to leave my child here. read more

I have been taking my kids here since my son was in the infant room, and I absolutely love it. My kids love coming here and one of the best comforts is having teachers you trust to care for your kids. As a mom this was a huge concern for me, but I do not worry when they are at Future Kids. The teachers are informative and they helped potty train both of my kids. If I moved, I would def travel the extra distance to keep them here. Future Kids was the biggest blessing when I moved from Michigan to California! My daughter Alexandria was 3 years old when we moved across the country and I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do for child care and who could I trust with my daughter full-time in such a big city where we didn't know anybody. However I feel better about it knowning my child is in the hands of the caring professionals at Future Kids Learning Academy. The teachers and directors do an amazing job of keeping me up to date on the highlights of my daughters day. I'm also very pleased with the variety of developmental appropriate indoor and outdoor activities the teachers do with the children (ABC's storytelling singing dance parties musical instruments and multi-sensory arts and crafts) on a daily basis. My son went here since he was 1. I was a new parent back then and was very nervous to send him to daycare since I had a bad experience with his previous daycare provider but Miss Sheela and the rest of the staff made it really easy for me to go back to work and be confident that my son is safe and well taken cared of. We recently did a tour of this facility and since reliable child programs are hard to find I wanted to review our first experiences with this facility because it might help other parents. Initially, looking through these reviews I was a little concerned or puzzled by another review on this website regarding professionalism and pricing point of the school etc. However, when I first called Future Kids Learning Academy my first point of contact was with Ms. Sheela (the director). She was nice and had a warm and welcoming tone of voice and was patient with all of my questions and answered them thoroughly. I also mentioned the website (which was hard to decipher due to being partly in Spanish) and her response was the same, that it is under construction. However, she was again accommodating to every question and very nice. So it wasn't a problem or barrier to get information about this facility. One of the talking points of course is price point. In the other review, readers can definitely see offense being expressed however, most great* facilities are just expensive out of pocket. You get what you pay for... and it's a struggle for working parents. No disrespect on anyone receiving government assistance who is trying to better their lives for themselves and their children. As a parent it is challenging (and can be frustrating) finding reliable and even (great) child care but I don't think that frustration should be given to the school... My reasons for this is because once we did the tour we fell in love with the place. They are extremely safe and secured. Safety policies in place for any emergency, cameras everywhere, strict check-in and check-out policy. They offer an age appropriate, structured, and stimulating curriculum and environment. Trained and certified staff (all background checked as should be), teachers were warm yet professional while talking to my child at eye level to ensure engagement and respect. Upon the tour we noted the facility is organized, clean, and the kids get to go outside everyday with their age appropriate groups. After talking with Ms. Sheela about various thoughts and questions, she had pointed out places that had been newly remodeled and after I had mentioned that it was a bit warm in the building (my only negative at all during the tour) she mentioned that the AC was a part of the restoration and the AC should be back to fully functioning within the month after some state paperwork had been finished up. As mentioned above we loved the place after our tour, we initially were going to look at other places on our list but we didn't need to look further since this place had everything and more than we were looking for. After all questions were answered we paid the annual deposit to secure our childs' spot and look forward to bringing our child here next month. Upon leaving we saw a member from DPSS doing a walkthrough (as a parent this is a good thing to see so you know that the facility is being kept to standards and your child will be in a safe environment), Another good sign for us was upon leaving our daughter kept asking to go back over the next couple of days. She said the playground looked like fun and the teachers were nice! So I know this is a long review but this is just our full experience here with this school. When I was searching for facilities for my daughter, I didn't see too many open and honest ones like these to help me with my decision so I hope this helps others! read more

I'm giving a 1 star because of the pricing. OUTRAGEOUS! I have been searching for a child care near my job for months. I was skeptical about home daycares, but i decided to give Future Kids a try based on the pictures, the curriculum and the overall feel I had of this being a safe place to bring my 14 month old daughter. I called, scheduled an appointment, and asked for pricing over the phone.. now, this is how they get you. "Well, we don't discuss tuition over the phone, but come down for a tour and we will give you all the I formation at that time". Cool. Although, I figured something was up with that feedback. I went, toured the facilities with Ms. Candy and fell IN LOVE with the place. After the tour, we went to the office and talked business. She pulled out a brochure and opened it up. I saw the pricing in there at a quick glance, the top being the full time care (which my daughter was to be in) $1,300.00 A MONTH! Oh, but she tells me "don't look at that price, this is an old brochure".. so I said OK thinking the prices were actually lower that that. She scratched out the $1,300.00 amount and wrote in $1,700.00 A MONTH! I almost cussed, I was so taken aback by the astronomical amount. I mean, this wasn't Kinder Care, or Tutor Time, or any other accredited childcare facility ( which still wouldn't equal $1,700) it was a house!! This has got to be illegal to charge that much. I mean, really! $425 a week (do the math). Its a nice home, it's like 3 houses on one property.. but, the tuition is caring for the HOME more-so than the kids. From what I saw, the infant/toddler room was only about 700 square feet. And not to mention the price does not include diapers, wipes, food, juice/milk.. you have to supply EVERYTHING yourself for tour child, down to the sheets and pillows for "their" cribs. This is the CLEANEST daycare that I have seen! Prior to enrolling my little one here, I toured more than 10 places and this is by far the best. The owner and teachers are so welcoming and nice. They really take the time to bond with your little one and tend to their needs. My little one has never been in a daycare before and on her first day here she didn't even want to look back at me and say bye, she was too excited to be there because of how nice the teachers are! She didn't even cry one bit! I enrolled my little one when she was 10 months old and I plan to keep here for a long time! I'm so grateful and appreciative for Future Kids Learning Academy. I have 2 kids there - a 4 years old who started there since he was 18 months old and an 18 months old who started there when she was 3 months old. Both of my children really like it there. My son always asks for his teachers and to play with his friends when he's at home. The teachers are very caring and compassionate and will work with you regarding your child's needs. For the toddler program, my son has daily homework to prepare him for kindergarten. As a result, my son can count to 100, knows his colors, shapes, animals, and can label things. For the infant program, my daughter has a skin condition and I like how the teachers there change her diaper every hour and give her ointment and meds to prevent any rashes. They read a lot and have circle time. As a result, my daughter loves to be read to at home. Book is one of her first words. As a whole, they do an excellent job planning and going an extra mile for our kids. They let us celebrate my son's birthday every year he's been there with his friends with a pizza party. They do an Easter egg hunt, trick o treat during Halloween time, introduce planting and gardening to the kids, have water play days during the summer, have yearly portraits for our kids done by a professional photo studio so that we have keepsakes to see our kids grow and develop throughout the years, have a Webby dance class that my son enjoys participating in, invite Santa Claus to come during Christmas time, and have 2 family potluck gatherings a year - one around Christmas time and another one during graduation time in June. These are fun to go to because the teachers work hard to teach and prepare the children to sing and dance. This really warms my heart. Overall, this pre-school does an exceptional job with ensuring the safety and well-being of our kids and preparing them for their next level of where they need to go to next. Love...love...love Future Kids! Ms.Sheela, the director is the most caring genuine person you can meet. She absolutely loves what she does and you can tell. The school setting is lovely, the classrooms are so cute and clean. But most important your child is in a safe environment. My son has had the privilege to attend future kids and is going on his second year. His teacher Ms. Candy is amazing, our son is writing his name, learning our home phone number and always looking forward to doing his homework. Ms. Yolanda, the teacher aid is just as wonderful! The kids love her reading time and her engagement with them. Ms. Anna is very caring. I have picked up my son at various time and he is always being cared for and taught in a way that makes me feel reassured of his safety and nurturing environment. I appreciate that my sons teachers bonded with him and made him feel safe which made learning fun. My son loves his teachers! I DO NOT receive government assistants (glad to know future kids accepts it, everyone deserves a great education) nor was I paid to write this review. My son went to FKLA while he was 2 years old and now he's 9. I had no plan to remove him from that pre-school until he's ready to go to TK. Miss Sheela and her staff were all wonderful and they treated us like a family. My son learned a lot while he was there and I felt that he was ready to the next level of his education from there. My son started here at 3 years old. He learned structure and how to get along with others, how to count and site numbers 1-100, shapes and colors, and also how to spell and write his name. Now that he will be graduating from Pre-School he will take all that he has learned to Kindergarten. I have had 3 children here over almost a decade. The staff has treated all of them like family. Much of the facilities have been rebuilt since the current owner took over 9 years ago. They do a great job celebrating every holiday with arts and crafts, and give the kids other projects throughout the year. Every year they have a great preschool graduation with song and dance numbers! But more importantly than all, my kids have gone to kindergarten ready to learn. They're prepared to sit in a classroom environment, and knew all of the letters and numbers to 100. My 3-yr. old can write most of her numbers, and has been counting to 100 for a while now. She even writes most of her letters. We looked at all of the childcare centers in the area. They were either on a major street, or weren't as nice, or surrounding businesses weren't what we wanted next to our children. You can't find a better place for your children. read more
