I initially took her classes in a group setting at a large fitness club and because of her extensive knowledge and warm spirit, it felt like I was taking a class in a small studio environment. I always looked forward to the little spritz of her Jubilee peppermint mist that was such a refreshing and relaxing way to end each class - a little treat! I have since taken some individual yoga classes from Nicole and she did a really great job catering the flow to meet what I needed, both when I was feeling physically strong and also when I was emotionally drained. Nicole is a wonderful yoga instructor, in tune to the needs of her students. My wife and I took a yoga class with Nicole and both us were struggling with significant limitations. My wife was pregnant and I had plantar fasciitis that prevented me from standing for very long, which obviously is a problem in yoga. I first met Nicole at a local gym in downtown San Diego where she was leading an Ashtanga inspired yoga class. I was immediately engaged by her warmth, positivity and fun loving spirit. Nicole's background in kinesiology enables her to give wonderful, easy-to-follow verbal instructions and physical adjustments to ensure proper form at all times to avoid injury. This was extremely important to me since I am constantly working on keeping my knee and hamstrings strong after reconstructive knee surgery 10+ years ago. I began taking her classes at this gym regularly and quickly noticed all of the positive changes in my life: my physically body was toning and growing stronger, my spirit more vibrant. My husband took notice of these changes too. Unfortunately schedules at the gym changed and so did my work schedule so I was no longer able to make Nicole's classes. I was so bummed! I enjoyed other instructors, but didn't have the same connection. Then came the best birthday present from my husband... PRIVATE YOGA SESSIONS WITH NICOLE! I grew exponentially in my 5 weeks of private lessons with Nicole. We're talking, learning crazy arm balances like Hurdler, Side Crow and 8 Angle Pose, all because Nicole is able to break down these poses in a way that is easy to comprehend. It also helps that she can demonstrate them with such ease and grace, and she is wonderful at encouraging you to push through apprehension and rewards you with positive feedback when you have that "ahh-ha" moment and finally get into a pose, even if it's just for a few seconds. Since my private yoga sessions, I have even taken dance lessons from Nicole -- there is NOTHING that this woman can't do! Nicole has a zest for life; she is talented, positive, motivated and motivating, not to mention extremely knowledgeable and passionate in what she teaches. Nicole is an incredible trainer. Not only does she provide customized workouts and nutritional guidance to address your fitness goals but she really listens to you, to what is going on in your life, and provides support to your mind, body and spirit. I left every session feeling positive, rejuvenated and crazy sore. During my work-outs Nicole provided a combination of dance, yoga, weight training, cardio-blasts, plyometrics, meditation and even hula-hooping! Needless to say I never got bored and my body was constantly working in ways I had no idea it could. Which leads us to RESULTS! I initially hired Nicole to get me in shape for my wedding. Overall I wanted to be more toned and just look and feel great. In 2 months I went from being in ok shape to BAM! My arms have definition, I am overall more lean and toned, all of a sudden a bunch of my clothes were too big and my wedding dress that once fit like a glove had to be taken in. Nicole is by far and away the most dynamic, dedicated, enthusiastic and gifted yoga teacher I've ever had the joy to run across in my 12 years of practicing yoga.
