The rules are VERY strict and now that I look back, older and more experienced as to why some rules are established, they are STILL to tight. The classic kid's game 'tag' is not permitted to be played on the playground. There is a hill on the side of the school and they do not permit kids to climb it. I grew up with tag, so that's disappointing. The education itself, I don't remember very much. I remember how awesome my fourth grade year was, and that was because of the teacher. Unfortunately, that teacher is no longer there because he was transferred. The same principal, Ms. Warner, that is there now was there when I attended. I miss my child-days.

Finding a new preschool turned out to be the easiest and best decision we've made so far! Some of our new neighbors casually mentioned Algonquin Preschool, so we scheduled a visit. My little guy was immediately comfortable with the teachers (and he's usually very shy at first!) and they let him stay and play as long as he wanted to. We immediately felt that this was the school for us. The environment was warm and friendly, and you can tell that a lot of thought goes into the planning of the classrooms and planning out the school year. The teachers all genuinely care about your child, and the focus is on PLAY. Play is the way preschoolers learn, and my son has shown so much social and emotional progress in his first year of school. We're so happy with our decision to send him here, and are so excited to send him again next year before he goes off to kindergarten :)

The environment is warm and nurturing, the staff really cares about the children and you can tell they absolutely love their job. Michelle the director is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She goes out of her way to explain the preschool program and the process which is is so important to families sending their child to school for the first time. The curriculum was fantastic as well. Not only did my child learn about God's love but he came home saying some words in Spanish, singing new songs, making cute art projects and even writing his name! It was important for me to do the research all the schools and even talk to parents that had children in the school before I could make a good choice. There are a number of preschool options in this area, including public, Christian, and places like KinderCare. None of these options provided optimal class sizes, and through my investigation I came to see that the methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori were critical to the development young children. I was thrilled to find Children's House Montessori School where my children received specialized made-for-them scholastic development. While my children are both still very young, other parents with children that have gone through Children's House Montessori School explain that children leave with above average skills and the confidence to use them. Very grateful for the school, program, and exceptional teachers that love their work and their students.

My daughter had undiagnosed Dyslexia. This teacher (according to other moms with kids who'd come home with the story) verbally berated her for 10 minutes straight for not remembering to read a passage. She learned a lot and got along swimmingly with other children, but that one teacher soured my impression of the school as a whole.

They allow bullies to stay on the Women's Volleyball league and A-level competitive players to play against less-experienced players (B/BB, C, D-levels) in 1 co-rec league. It causes alot of court/game problems regarding positions and cohesiveness to play together safely. I was on the Winter/January 2024 VB league and experienced negative incidents from female players. As a long-standing BB/B level VB player, I bring my positive attitude in playing with teams and mates but many players don't share the same standards. I was born legally 65% deaf and my disability often confuses people since I can't engage in normal conversation, often mistakenly read as being anti-social. Everyone in leagues I play on are alerted about my hearing disability. 1/29/2024: teammate Donna (same team Spike-N-Spice, captain Brandy Valentine) cowardly pushed/jabbed my back from behind during a game. I was caught off-guard considering she and I have never had problems, but I sensed anomisity from her the beginning. No avail as to why. Recollecting myself, I ignored her cowardly aggresssiveness and continued playing with proper sportmanship. She never explained to me why she pushed me nor did I ask her and I couldn't trust her anymore. Captain Brandy chose to not act upon this assault, and I took myself off the team. I emailed Dundee Township managment providing full incident details. Tammy Greco, Superintendent of Rec, contacted me back only saying general words of "Thank you for sharing your feelings, it's been addressed." There were no resolutions given to me as to the outcome of Donna's bad behavior. This incident wasn't based on "feelings", it was based on a physical assault per videotapes. Since the township choose to not act, I don't feel safe to continue coming here, assured that behavior like this won't be allowed.
