We highly recommend the Learning Tree. Our daughter is 4.5 years old and in her second year at this school. The first year there were some teacher transitions, which caused some adjustments each time, but this year our daughter is in Ms. Mary's class and the experience has been great. Ms. Mary is very experienced and I am amazed at all my daughter is learning, from writing to days of the month, to playing well with others. I know my daughter is in good hands when I drop her off, and she has a great time at the school. I also appreciate the friendly, responsive administrative team and the flexible extended hours. My daughter is usually at school from 8 - 5:30, but they are open from 6:30-6, which helps on days I need to drop her off early or pick her up. read more

Has anyone else noticed how old these reviews are. They certainly don't represent the school now. it is a school where staff are allowed to manhandle children without any repercussions and who target the child as a result of an issue being raised with the director. The senior management need to get involved in resolving the awful staffing standards at this school. This school needs new management now. read more

Learning Tree Elgin West on Royal st was the one that I have put all of my 3 kids there. From my experience, they are the best daycare in the area. Their system is well structured. The teachers are more experienced. The daycare itself each day is sparkling. That alone stands out a lot already which tells me their high quality of putting kids first especially for their hygiene. Each individual class room are very clean and well maintained every single day. Mrs. Melissa always stay in positive mode and helpful in any kind of issues. Teachers are kind and helpful. My daughter attended The Learning Tree of Elgin West for the month of June (which was very helpful as I was scrambling and only needed to fill a few weeks for one child). I just wish I'd found them sooner and would've signed up all 3 kids for the whole summer. They take kids of all ages and their hours, I imagine, can accommodate most any family's needs. My daughter LOVED this summer camp program. They have a fun filled schedule with many outings! All staff is so friendly and everything about scheduling, payments, drop off/pick up is run very smooth. Amazing daycare! We were so nervous to leave our 2 year old who had extreme attachment issues, but The Learning Tree West has made that experience a very positive one! It was challenging at first, but, after about 6 weeks he settled in very nicely and now I can't get him to leave at the end of each day. The teachers and administrators are the best. We have been sending our daughter here since she was 4 mos. She is now in the toddler room, and we absolutely love it. As a first-time mom, I was very apprehensive about daycare, and didn't start our daughter full-time right away, but as I became more comfortable with The Learning Tree directors/teachers and the program highlights, I felt very comfortable having her go all week. I often feel bad about not spending my days during the week with our daughter, as we both work full-time. However, she has learned so much since starting here. She learned to walk, she learned to wave, she learned to clap, as well as sign language and now in the toddler room she is participating in art every day, reading, group and sensory activities. The Learning Tree has a very community feel to it. We have loved all of the teachers and the inviting welcome we get each day from the staff and directors. read more

We love the learning tree, my family has gone there since the kids were newborns, the youngest just aged out but we had been for 20 years! We couldn't imagine having the kids at any other center! The people treat you like family, and your sure to see them all around town! When you do they greet you with friendly faces and warm hugs! The Learning Tree is a wonderful place to enroll your children when you have to work. My son is a toddler and had only ever been home with me or my family, he was very shy when he started. The teachers and directors made the transition much less stressful than I had assumed and he's definitely starting to play and talk more with the other children. He's learning sign language in addition to singing, playing, reading, and growing with the other toddlers in the class. The teachers are fun, caring, generous, and loving. They will care for and love your kids as if they were their own. You won't find a better child care environment. read more

I really like this daycare. My son is 8 months old and has been going there since he was six weeks. We checked out a few different daycares, but ultimately selected this one. I love how I don't have to bring in all the formula already mixed each morning, and that I can leave all of his supplies/food there. It makes each morning easier. We recently moved my son to the Learning Tree after a pretty miserable experience at a nearby center. My son was constantly crying there and had such a hard time adjusting to the constant rotation of teachers. Moving to the Learning Tree was the greatest decision for my son. I had been hearing wonderful things about the Learning Tree for years from different friends and colleagues, but the other center was simply closer. I wish I had listened to their advice sooner! My son is thriving! He has not shed a single tear since we moved to the Learning Tree. He loves his teachers and I love everything about the center. The administration is kind, patient and communicative which is extremely important to me. The activities are fun and engaging and as a teacher, I really appreciate the thought that goes into caring for my child's growth. I couldn't be happier with the change. The only reason they get one star is because of the teachers. They are great. The problem is with management. They disenrolled (fancy word for kicked out) my son who has diagnosed ADHD. After being told by the director we had to take him to a therapist (which we did) they assured us we would work together and as long as we worked with them we would be fine. Well 3 months prior to the start of his Kindergarten year they tossed him out because he was too much work. We worked so hard to correct a lot of the issues and the teachers said he made a lot of progress but after a relapse that lasted. Couple weeks they had enough. Steve clear if your child needs any kind of special attention, because they will suck you in and spit you out when you need stability the most. read more
