Dr. Steel and his nurse are amazing, and I am not happy to be finding another office, but their billing policy is awful. They enroll you in automatic payments without your consent and don't always provide a statement before the billing cycle. You cannot opt out of automatic payments, and they will only notify you 7 days in advance. The billing might not be on the same day every month either. I cannot believe this policy is in place and it needs to be removed. read more

Dr.Loeb and her nurse Rachel are amazing. The front desk staff and some of the other nurses are extremely rude. They all have attitudes and come off mean and uncaring to parents dealing with sick kids. I wouldn't recommend them based off these women. read more

We love this office! We commute 30 mins to come here with both kids since they were born. Any time they get sick or we have any concerns, I can easily call the phone nurse (love ms Jan!!) and they will recommend if we need to come in or not. We love DR Loeb and any of the other drs if we need to see someone else. The nurses have amazing bedside manner with the kiddos and genuinely remember them and care. I can't remember the name of the nurse we usually see but she's awesome too! It means a ton to have peace of mind when it comes to your kids and thanks to Leawood Pediatrics, I do! read more

I don't usually write reviews but unfortunately, I just have to agree with the others on the poor customer service. We were scheduled well in advance for my daughters' well-visit only to get there and be told there was a scheduling error and because of that, insurance wouldn't cover the visit. We never got an apology and were told "she will just have to come another day". I took PTO, woke up the kids earlier than usual so we could be punctual, and pulled my daughter out of school for this type of response. This was the last straw for us. My two kids are no longer their patients and I am so glad. read more

Dr. Nagy has been on our girls doctor for 13 years and we have loved her and Leawood Pediatrics. We drive 30 minutes from Spring Hill and it is worth it. Great and thorough care with lots of options to get our girls in when needed. read more

Honestly, I'm sure other doctors in this practice are wonderful....however that has not been our experience. After moving from another city, this practice was recommended for our kids. We were scheduled with Dr. Allen, and she may, honestly, be one of the worst doctors I've ever met. Each time we visited the office, we left with more questions than answers. She's an alarmist with very little follow through. You child is too small, but no suggestions what to do. You child is too big, with no no follow through or plan of action. She let our childs ear infections go on and on, eventually we asked for a referral out so they could get tubes. I have not found her educational, empathic or supportive. Also, she's come into one of our appointments reading the chart of another child - HIPAA much? Needless to say, we have established care elsewhere read more

Let me start out by saying the doctors here are fantastic, we have spent the last 4 years coming here only because we love our children's doctor so much, but that is literally the only redeeming quality to this practice. Below is the list of cons we have personally experienced. 1) They are perpetually busy, you have to schedule visits months in advance, and they only have "sick call" hours for like 1 hour per day early in the morning, so most of our doctor visits when our children fell ill were at CVS minute clinics 2) The office staff moves at the speed of molasses, need a copy of your children's medical records for their pre-school or for a sport? That will be $25 and they will fax it out in 7-10 days.... I know we are spoiled by the "Right Now" convenience of most things, but sending out medical records should take like 2-3 days max, and that is being very generous. 3) Getting referrals to specialists is a PITA. Our daughter has very bad allergies, and the only way our insurance will cover a specialist is if we get a referral from the PCP, we let the front office staff know this, the nurses know this, and the doctor know this and they said no problem we will fax over the referral. Oh what a surprise to us to when we found out that they didn't send a referral and we got quite a large bill in the mail. We have been working on calling them for the last month to get the issue sorted out but to no avail due to how impossible it is to get them on the phone. Overall, the doctors are great here, but the patient experience is equivalent to getting a root canal with no anesthesia while someone is continually kicking you in the nuts. read more

I'm so disappointed with the service in this place. I Booked my daughter annual check up and signed up her records release on August 20th. I wait 2 months to see dr loeb in November. when I got there they canceled the appointment because they haven't got her inmune records. This office had 2 months to get those records.On nov 9th the leawood place contact me to let me know they got it but my daughter can't see her dr until next year.During October I went there 2 times one for her flue shot and the second time she saw a practician because she got stomach flu. Nobody I mean nobody said to me that they are having issues to get her inmune records. They apologized to me but they couldn't find a way to schedule an appointment this month. The only reasons I don't find another pediatrician place is because dr loeb is an amazing pediatric. read more

I have three kids ranging in age from 22 to 1. We have been patients of Dr. Loeb since before this practice was opened. She is a good doctor but the policies of this office, which is her office, are ridiculous. You cannot get in to see a doctor when your child is sick. Well visits must be made months in advance. There is an extra fee for absolutely everything. What's the point of having a primary care pediatrician if every time my child needs same day or next day care I'm told to just go somewhere else? It's very sad but we're switching doctors. I need someone who can actually care for my child. read more

I am so disappointed! When I needed my doctor the most they let me down. We are on vacation and both of my children have gotten sick. We are traveling with a family member who just tested positive for strep and now my kids have a fever and sore throats. When I called and asked for an antibiotic sent to a pharmacy near by they stated that their policy was they have to see them first. I understand that but asked to talk to the doctor for an exception but they would not let me talk to the doctor. They suggested to go to an urgent care but they do not have any near by. So I had to take my children to the ER for an antibiotic. It cost me more than 1000.00 because they would not call in a script. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR THAT WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU REALLY NEED THEM. read more

If you're looking for an empathetic practice with kind people that make you feel heard and unrushed, this is NOT the place. After moving on to another practice I've come back to review why we left LP. The wait time to be seen was not ideal. Yes, I realize that sometimes you have to wait, but when you're a facility devoted to pediatric care, making children wait takes a toll. A lot of the waiting took place in the room, after the initial nurse exam. Most times the children have to be down to a diaper, so my kid is just hanging out half naked in a cool office. (Something nice about our new doctor is they offer gowns, although you really don't need them because you don't have to wait long) More often than not I felt rushed. I hate feeling rushed, especially when it comes to concerns I have about my children. I didn't always feel fully supported, sometimes your "momma gut" tells you something and having it seemingly judged or dismissed was frustrating. They've gotten a little too big for their britches. The regulations and rules now in place make it impossible to deliver timely and quality care. The change in financial policy has frustrated many, as you can see from other reviews. Right before our departure I ended up calling the Children's Mercy Nurse Line for an after hours concern. They bill your pediatrician for those calls.( More on this in a bit) Per the nurse at CM we should follow up with our pediatrician the next day. The final straw for me was when I took my daughter to Quick Care the following day, we were seen by Dr. Gatz and she was impersonable, dismissive and didn't even seem to want to touch my child for an exam! I immediately began looking for a new pediatrician following that visit. I've found that addressing concerns with the staff at Leawood Pediatrics only results with them being defensive and seriously lacking empathy or humility. I found a new practice and requested our records be sent there. When LP called me about it, they let me know that there would be a charge to send over everything (other than immunization records and growth charts). I didn't realize this, It seems petty, but more than anything I just cringed at the tone the lady I spoke to had. I chose not to give them any more of my money, and just have the basics sent over to our new doctor. Later, there was a $10 charge from when I called the Children's Mercy nurse line. LP sent me statements about this. Mind you, my oldest daughter had been going through numerous medical things immediately following our leaving Leawood Pediatrics, so a $10 charge for something they didn't even do was not at the top of my list. We had money coming out of our ears going to all sorts of specialists and doctors. We did make a couple payments (yes we made payments on a $10 bill...times are tough). Yesterday, I received a letter from "the physicians and owners" of Leawood Pediatrics telling me they've put a hold on my family's account and won't see us in their office until the account is paid in full. They also stated that they would cancel all scheduled appointments if payment was not received in 30 days...We haven't been a patient there for over 6 months--there are no future appointments scheduled! We've made payments. I particularly loved the "We will cancel all your appointments and send this $8 bill to collections"...followed by "thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your child." I literally cannot with this place. I look forward to their passive aggressive response to this. read more

This is a very bittersweet review - it doesn't end so well. Dr. Nagy has honestly been one of the biggest blessings and best doctors we have ever encountered. She made my daughter feel very comfortable about some uncomfortable things. Our visits were spaced far enough apart that I'd often forget how much we liked her - both as a doctor and a person - then my daughter would have an appointment and we'd leave gushing to all friends and family that "she's the best ever." We have been going to her since she worked at Child Care Limited, then followed her to her own practice, Leawood Pediatrics, in March 2012. My records only go back eight years, but I know it's been slightly longer than that. Upon moving to her own practice, she chose the best possible partners (we love all of the doctors there), but made some terrible missteps with office management - which I believe was handled by employees the physicians hired. Along this bumpy road, there were several hiccups and things that were far more challenging, all administratively, than we had experienced at our worst providers. The office managers seemed nice enough, but they always had someone to blame - a new system, someone who just left, etc. For example, in Aug 2012, we were billed $255.27. But, our insurance EOB said we only owed $105.27. I spoke with someone named Laura multiple times and she couldn't get the bill right, so I finally just paid her $105.27 a few weeks later and told her I was done with it. Then, in Feb 2013, they billed me for an EXTRA office visit. Who does that? I spoke with Michelle that time and she said it was an accident. A mistake. Just don't pay it. In Oct 2014, I finally received a bill from lab services completed in April of that year. It took them SIX months to bill me. Unfortunately, the weirdest one of all (which I think happened sometime during 2014), I cannot find in my records for a specific date/contact. I received an email notification that I was late for a bill that I paid almost an entire year earlier. Upon calling the office, they agreed that I paid it and fixed the error. I know. I never ended up paying too much because I caught all of the errors. But, you'll see why this matters: As of May of 2015 (just days before an annual appointment), we received notice that they had implemented a new payment policy of either (a) requiring direct access to our payment method (which is a bank account) or (b) a deposit of $200 payable to Leawood Pediatrics. (Like an escrow account, but not for your mortgage ... just for ear infections and the stomach flu. Sound a bit much? Do they have that many people not paying their bills?) Despite years of prompt and accurate payments on my part (never late), and fending off incorrect amounts on their part, they were requesting direct access to my bank account? Um, sorry. No. I tried calling Dr. Nagy twice to discuss this. Her new office manager either wouldn't forward my messages to her, or Dr. Nagy didn't deem my input important, because I've been waiting two months (yes, months) for a return call, and haven't heard a word. We also cancelled a scheduled appointment at the same time, so they are clear we've picked a new doctor (another whom we love, so don't fear - there are many great pediatricians out there if you also find this policy distasteful). The office manager also did not forward our daughter's records to the new doctor despite our new doctor's request. I find that particularly unprofessional. As of today's date, July 15, 2015, you can read this policy in full on their website. "If the balance is less than $100 your card will be charged automatically." You only get a courtesy call if it's greater than $100. Oh, and if you fail to notify them of any insurance changes within 30 days of your visit and this mishap causes an initial denial of your claim, be prepared for all charges to become your responsibility - which they now have authority to take directly from your account. Like, right now. Then, even better, according to the "Highlights of Important 2014 Financial Changes" page on their website, "If after insurance has processed and your account acquires a credit of $50 or more and no outstanding services are pending, a refund will be made back to the card originally used." So, apparently if they make an insurance error of $49 or less, they have the right to keep the money and not refund it - whether that be a pending credit for months/years or not returned at all. Who knows? That part isn't explained. As much as we love Dr. Nagy, her office is not getting a direct line to my bank account. Especially with their track record of billing me incorrectly. No thanks. This was our personal experience, and we don't plan to go back to Leawood Pediatrics. read more

Such a disappointment. I took my son and the Dr was great. I then went to make an appointment for my daughter for a swollen lymph node and they said they could make an appointment for her in 7 weeks for her well child visit (bc she's not 5 yet). Then they'd happy to see her after for a swollen lymph node. When asked what to do for a sick child, I was told the ER or urgent care is the only option if they haven't had a well child visit with them (to clarify she is up to date on all well children's appointments and I have records to show it.) Maybe I am spoiled being able to see a dr in California for a sick child without jumping through a bunch of hoops by but I am disappointed with how they run things. The DR was great when my son was seen and the receptionist was only following policy and was kind as well- just find it odd to our child has to reach an age milestone then have a well visit appointment before being seen for actual sickness. I promptly made an appt with st luke and will be going there with both kids from now on. Thanks. read more

This is a bitter sweet review. We have gone to Dr Loeb for the last 4 years with our 3 children and it has been wonderful. Most recently we were called to schedule our 3 well visits for our kids (12,8,3) and we told they would only do 2 at a time in one day. We drive about 35-40 minutes to get to the office and I expressed my desire for them to please make an exception especially since the older 2 are in school. I was again told no and that they only see 3 at once if they are triplets. I even offered if they could do them in the morning and if the doctor had to step out a couple times for other appointments that would be ok as it would still be helpful considering school/work/drive. I was again told no... I asked that Dr. Loeb be advised that we will have to look to leave the practice if they could not attempt to accommodate but if she wanted to call us to talk about it we might be more understanding but it just didn't make sense especially when scheduling months and months out. The office staff advised that my 2 kids and my friends kid (or my nephew) could be seen for well visits back to back to back but it just couldn't be the same 3 in the family.... again makes no sense to us. We decided after a couple months to go ahead and schedule our appointments just due to time and make it work - my husband called and was put on hold to be told by the receptionist that we had been sent a certified letter dismissing us from the practice. My husband advised that we had never received anything and upon further review the receptionist advised that they did not receive confirmation that we got the letter so she wasn't sure where it went. We have been great patients (easy), always come to appointments, pay bills, etc. It is really sad that this office has such a policy in place that is inconvenient and really makes no sense. I told them I would understand if they only did 2 well visits in the morning (or afternoon) but when they do way more but will only limit it to 2 family members it just doesn't make sense. It is really sad to be treated like a number and not a family and member of the community..... read more

I LOVE Dr. Loeb, our pediatrician, and have always been quite happy with her colleagues when we are seen during Urgent Care hours. They have a lactation nurse to assist moms and even had my daughter's frenotomy (tongue tie clipped) in the office! read more

The phone nurses are rude and condescending, to the point where I dread having to call for anything at all. Our Dr. is nice enough, but very high strung. She will write down notes on a piece of paper for you, but when you get home good luck reading her awful handwriting. I wish she would slow down and just relax. Fantastic care here!! My daughters dr is Mary Nagy & she is wonderful! They always get you an appt as soon as possible & only once have I had to wait until the following day when my daughter was sick. They usually find a way to get you in that day. Occasionally that doeseam seeing a different dr but they are all great so that's ok. Everyone in the office is very nice & knows their stuff. I have never had a long wait after arriving for an appt either. The only downfall at all is in the waiting room. They have separate play areas for sick & well children but there is nothing actually separating them. So when my daughter is sick & already grumpy I have to try to convince her that she wants to play with the toys on the sick child side of the room. The toy she loves the most is on the well side of course. It's not a huge deal because they do get you in pretty quickly but it can be frustrating at times. In spite of this one issue we will continue to go there because the care is so wonderful! read more

We have been patients of Dr. Nagy for almost 7 years and wouldn't want to take our children anywhere else. We have seen all of the doctors at Leawood Pediatrics and love them all. They do a great job of listening and never make you feel like your concern is unimportant even if it isn't something that serious. They treat the kids like they are the most important beings in the world which is probably why my children never get upset when they have to go to the doctor. They are so patient and understanding whether in the office or when talking to the phone nurses. The nurses and staff are amazing and always have smile on their face. Doctors and staff are very nice, however, they are always running late...not just 5 minutes, but generally half an hour or more. We've attempted to schedule first thing in the morning because of this and then the doctors show up late that day. If you don't care about dealing with young children in an enclosed environment for an extra half hour, it's a great place. Otherwise, I would strongly suggest you find a different pediatrician. read more

My husband and I feel so blessed to have such an Incredible team looking after all our boys! The care we receive from Dr Nagy and Tiffany is phenomenal. I know they truly care about the health and well being of my family...not just my kids but my husband and me also. My boys have also been seen by Dr. Hamm, Dr. Loeb, and Dr. Speropoulos...all of whom have been just as amazing! We take great comfort in knowing that no matter who we see at Leawood Pediatrics, we know we are getting the best medical care. The nursing staff is fantastic and the receptionists are always incredibly friendly and helpful as well. I wouldn't want to take my boys to any other practice. Although I spoke with an office manager and she agreed to not keep my card info on record or take a deposit, so it sounds like it depends on who you talk to. The office and nurses lack empathy and ownership. My daughter had severe reflux as a newborn and would scream up to 8 hours a night. I explained that reflux ran in the family and I believed her symptoms to be reflux related. The nurse was condescending and told me "babies are just fussy" and that I "need to understand that." It took me three calls post appt to get prescribed reflux meds. I had a second instance in the four months I went to this practice where I took a photo of only my daughter's face only and the nurse complained about me, which is perfectly fine, I would have deleted the photo immediately but no one said anything to me in the office. They called me at work and it took me 4 calls and a Facebook message to reach the office manager. When I asked why no one could talk to me at the appt, she said it took the nurse aback. Well, the nurse wasn't in the photo. Instead of apologizing that their telephone menu didn't work (kept rerouting me and repeating no option for VM) and that no one spoke to me at the appt or apologizing that I sent a Facebook message they read and didn't respond to for four days she explained that I need to respect the nurse's privacy like they respect ours as a patient. The nurse WASN'T in the photo. And I am happy to delete from my phone but you could at least apologize for how the whole situation was handled. When I explained it took me four phone calls and a Facebook message to reach her she told me she called me back. Once. I absolutely do not recommend this office. They are friendly up front but if you ever need anything they are not helpful. However, the doctor, Megan Loeb, is really knowledgeable and wonderful. I do recommend her if she ever leaves this office. read more

We have been seen Dr. Nagy for almost 8yr now. we love her and all of the other doctors and nurses of the clinic. The front desk ladies are wonderful, friendly and always have a smile and are ready to help. They also have a great nursing (breastfeeding room) room, a lactation consultant (and she is wonderful). They are never in a rush and are always prompt to answer your questions. Love the walk-ins, the late hours and that they are open for half of the day on Sat. We had taken our daughter to Dr. Loeb for the last 8 years or so. We've always been up front with her about not wanting to do anymore vaccines due to her Autism. We told her we felt it was a factor in her diagnosis. She has never pressured us to take them but would bring it up when we had wellness visits. Our last visit she let me know that she wouldn't see us anymore unless we continued our vaccination schedule. I told her we wouldn't be doing that and she let us know we couldn't be her patient anymore. I was a bit stunned and didn't know quite what to say. We were able to find a doctor who was a friend to the Autism community pretty quickly however. We then received a letter in the mail repeating what Dr Loeb had said and giving us until mid June to take care of her vaccines. That being said, if your child is on the Autism spectrum and you've decided not to get the vaccines, then this is no place for you. You aren't welcome. Search for a D.A.N. doctor in the area and go there. Not a friend to the Autism community. read more
