The library opens at 9 a.m. (earlier than Davidson County libraries, which was nice to know). The children's section is completely separate from the rest of the library and even has its own bathrooms. I really appreciated this because I didn't have to worry as much about other guests. The kids area was very crowded, though there are a lot of different spaces throughout and we still could have found quieter areas if needed. Visibility between sections can make it a little difficult to keep track of multiple kids, but that's somewhat expected in a busy children's library. They normally seem to offer story time, though there wasn't one today. Instead, there was a coloring activity set up in the story time room. There were lots of activities for kids including puppets, trains, blocks, computers, and plenty of tables/seating areas. I also appreciated that snacks weren't allowed in the play area, which helped keep everything clean. I knocked off a star because the staff felt a bit quick to correct kids during normal busy-day behavior, even when parents were already handling it. That said, it was an especially crowded day, so I understand they were probably trying to keep things under control. Overall, this is a great library for young kids with a lot to explore and enough space to spend a good amount of time there.

The place seems clean enough despite being outdated. Has a bit of the old smell that could be fixed with some air fresheners. Really my biggest qualm about the place is that it is so empty. There are huge areas of unused space which could be filled with books or other media. I had not been to this branch in years and was actually surprised to find out that the lebanon branch has become the better location. Honestly I think I'd only come back to this branch if a title was not available at the other location. Mt. Juliet you really need to step up your game.

Our family mainly utilizes the children's section, which is large with a variety of activities for kids beyond books and periodicals. They have a few coloring and craft stations set up, as well as computers. The sensory room is our favorite! It's separate from the rest of the children's area to allow for quiet play or reading. It's a great spot for babies and toddlers to play! There's also fenced in courtyard with a few kids' playhouses and plenty of seating to enjoy time outside in nice weather.

This library, located in downtown Nashville, has lots of resources for people, including my favorite: a "Library of Things" where people can check out useful objects, such as musical instruments, tools, baking pans, weights, pedometers, sewing machines, binoculars, etc. In the teen area, there is a huge maker space with instruments, a loom for weaving, fabric and yarn for creating things, a podcast room, tools and all kinds of things that teens can use to be creative. The children's area of the library has a big play structure that looks like a ship, as well as a rock climbing wall (I know!), sensory toys, and little nooks with areas set up for play. There's a whole section on the third floor with charging stations and places for adults to hang out. My magazine-loving self loved that they had an archive of old magazines bound into books. I found decades-old copies of Seventeen and Vogue. The whole library itself is beautiful, with marble floors and lots of windows. It was super quiet when I visited. What a beautiful and useful space for the community.

There's a small parking lot and some free street parking. If you're not used to turning into the Five Points neighborhood, I recommend going down to 10th Street and looping back around. The Nashville Public Library has an easy-to-use website, where you can place books on hold from any branch. They also have several e-books available to borrow, if that's your thing! Holds are available for pick-up on the shelves to the left of the main desk, and then you can walk around to the other side of the desk for the self-checkout scanner. Returns can be dropped off outside the building on the lower level (to the left of the front entrance). Because of its small size, this branch can get busy pretty quickly. Even still, it's nice to have such a cute little library in our neighborhood.

No one was in line when I walked to the voting area. The booths weren't as private as I would have liked but the screens were easy to read and the process was understandable.

This has only been made more clear since covid happened. They have given out crafts and books and offered storytime and activities on zoom and from cars. Saturday evening we celebrated the Winter Solstice at the Capitol Arts Center at the 2nd Annual Music for the Solstice: a Celtic Celebration. This impressive concert with poetry readings and vocalist sprinkled in was sponsored by the Warren County Public Library. Thanks! I can only imagine what else this library offers the community. Today's front page newspaper headline was about the Main Library Renovation plans. Sounds like even better things are in store for that place with a lot of great books.

I called to see if they could notarize a form for me. They said yes come any time between 1-5pm…read more Came at 2pm and there were 5 people talking at the desk. When I asked if I could get something notarized, they all looked nervous. The "manager" with long red hair finally said, ""We will get to you when we have time, (very rude demeanor), It might be 30 minutes. She was busy talking with people at the copier and then went into her office. My daughter has been there twice before to try to get a library card twice and they were very rude. I have loved every library I have ever been to over 40 years except this one with extremely rude employees. Very disappointed. Will go to a different library. At least be polite!!!! Very disappointed. Won't ever go back.
