Terrible reading selection. Good luck getting anything slightly interesting or new. Very disappointed.

One of the first things we did when we moved to Lebanon was receiving a library card. Reading is…read moreclearly more important than visiting the DMV! The librarians are all very kind and helpful. We have been a few times now, mainly for using their printers and copy machine which cost less than 35 cents a page. If you have a library card, you receive up to two complimentary hours on the computer daily. Parking can be a nightmare mid-day but in the evenings, it's a lot easier to find a spot. The library is clean and very well organized. There's a large children's section in the back, an okay selection of DVDs to rent, decent amount of audio books to rent, and they offer Libby, too. This is a nice public library and this Constant Reader is proud to be a member!

This may not be the newest looking library but I hadn't been in years and was pleasantly surprised…read morethat some money has gone into updating the place. Based on my trip years ago I probably would've given this place a 2. The staff was nice when it came to renewing our library card. We were able to easily look up some titles that were were interested in and locate them on the shelves. We were pleased that they did in fact have both of the newer titles that we were looking for. My only suggestion that is within the staffs control to change is investing in some mild scented air fresheners (maybe a vanilla or coffee scent) because the place smells old.

The Nashville Public Library is a great example of why I love public libraries: it's not just…read morebooks, it's a resource for the community. This library, located in downtown Nashville, has lots of resources for people, including my favorite: a "Library of Things" where people can check out useful objects, such as musical instruments, tools, baking pans, weights, pedometers, sewing machines, binoculars, etc. In the teen area, there is a huge maker space with instruments, a loom for weaving, fabric and yarn for creating things, a podcast room, tools and all kinds of things that teens can use to be creative. The children's area of the library has a big play structure that looks like a ship, as well as a rock climbing wall (I know!), sensory toys, and little nooks with areas set up for play. There's a whole section on the third floor with charging stations and places for adults to hang out. My magazine-loving self loved that they had an archive of old magazines bound into books. I found decades-old copies of Seventeen and Vogue. The whole library itself is beautiful, with marble floors and lots of windows. It was super quiet when I visited. What a beautiful and useful space for the community.

I enjoyed stopping by here to check out this library! I've never seen one connected to other places…read morebefore so it took me a minute to figure out how to get in. This place is so open and bright. There was someone working at a desk right by the entrance, Sammy, who showed us around and told us about some of the things they do. I really liked their displays. It was cool how they even have a bookshelf dedicated to books that haven't been checked out in a while and will be excessed. I think they sell them on their carts by the entrance. I was hoping to find another library bookstore but oh well it was still fun visiting here!

The entrance is really beautiful and has a path to walk around outside, including a park that would be awesome for you if you have kiddos. The library as a whole, both inside and outside, was super clean and nice. There are many computers to use for free as well as places to sit by the window with charging ports for any electronic devices you may need to charge. There were two study rooms that looks really nice, although they were both full when I visited. It would be awesome if they could add another study room or quiet area in the future! The kind woman at the front desk was super helpful with any questions I had and added a very friendly touch to my experience. I will definitely be back to get more work done or check out a book or two in the future!
