By the time I returned and viewed the statement from the auction house, I saw that Eager Beavers were a bit too eager and disposed of many wrong items! I am not impressed at all. And to top it off, I was charged an extra $1500. over my initial quote, $1000 of which was spent for 4 guys to sit in a truck while they were stuck in traffic. They were friendly, careful (slow) and very cautious and everything arrived fine although my move was only 6 blocks away. I had a small move- 1 bdrm suite, 1 dining room suite, 1 sofa, outdoor furniture set, disassembled shed, and some various items like a bike, lawn mower, wheel barrow, bird bath etc. NO kitchen to move, NO bathroom, NO clothes, NO boxes of personal items as that was all done ahead of time. The estimate was that it would take 2 hours using two men. Sounds reasonable. Well it took them 6 hours to move and unpack, and they had to make 2 trips. Also they did not show up on the scheduled date. Two house moves were booked on the same day, and considering that mine was a short and quick move, I was booked in for 7pm. When they called the night before to confirm I specifically requested that they call me throughout the next day to alert me to how their first move was going. I said I was flexible and could meet them early if they got done earlier. Well I was still waiting at 6pm for a call with my own helpers there, and we had begun to move things out of the garage onto the driveway for easy access. My helpers had disassembled my shed so my shed items were now outside unprotected/unlocked. I was told at 6pm that they were not coming at 7. I was offered 9pm, which would entail moving in the dark, with tired, hungry, cranky movers or book it for the following day. A second phone call came with an apology and a 10% discount. One star earned.
