I employed Pro Service Moving to move me from my two bedroom apartment to my new home in Sherwood Park. I initially chose them because the website seemed very well thought out with lots of good tips to make moving easier and cheaper. I then noticed that the owner, Dan, had a place on his website for reviews which specifically stated that he DID NOT host reviews on his site and directed people to Yelp or Google to leave reviews. His reasoning for this makes sense: as he is the webmaster, he can control the content on his own site and cherry-pick good reviews and silence the bad ones... So, I had a pretty good feeling that I was dealing with an honest company. The day of my move, which was scheduled in the late afternoon, they contacted me to advise that they would be late because an earlier client had given them the wrong unit number, and they had moved 75% of the stuff into the wrong place! Then they got caught in rush hour coming out of downtown. Totally not their fault. Anyway, poop happens, and they were in constant contact advising me of when they would be there. When Dan and Matt got to my apartment, they had everything out, tied down and ready to go in 45 minutes flat. Some of that speed came from the fact that I had learned some tricks from the website and I was organized. I did help loading a bit, but these boys are fast, strong and competent, just what you want when you're paying by the hour. All the equipment they were using was high-quality, no cheap dollies or tie downs here. They had lots of furniture blankets and huge cardboard wardrobes for the loose stuff! When we got to the house, they got my stuff in and put it where I wanted it. Again, it was VERY fast. I was so impressed with their service I had them move my mother from a single bedroom apartment into my house. The move was scheduled for 9am, and they rolled up 5 minutes early. I had organised the furniture and boxes pretty well, but again I was impressed with the speed that things got done at. It was a senior's apartment, so we were unable to take over the only elevator, which slowed things down a bit waiting. My mom has much nicer, antique furniture and Dan and Matt were very careful with it. Dan and Matt are very polite and helpful, they listen to your concerns and can make intelligent suggestions when problems arise. Pro Service Moving made my moving experience pleasant and painless. They arrived at the scheduled time, and I personally dealt with the owner/operator (Dan) who provided me with updates and tips prior to my move. The movers were personable, efficient, and very careful with all of my belongings. They provided wardrobe boxes and they had more than enough moving blankets to accommodate not only my furniture, but also the random 'odds and ends' I had anticipated hauling over myself (lamps, small artwork, etc.). They had runners taped down to all of the flooring (so they weren't walking on my hardwood and carpets with their outdoor shoes), and they even had special padding for the banisters to prevent damage. Their rates were competitive and their time management was excellent (ensuring my move didn't take longer or cost more than I had planned). I selected them based on an outstanding rating with the Better Business Bureau, along with online reviews. These folks moved me from Edmonton to Vegreville. I was extremely impressed with them. Despite the rain in both cities and having to load from two different locations, they got my possessions moved in awesome time and we arrived safe n sound in Vegreville. The guys are professional, work well together & know what they are doing. I have never had a mover that was so organized. I was super impressed that they were on time for their arrival at the first location, that NEVER happens with most movers. I can't really say enough great things bout these guys without gushing but they were that awesome with my move. I think it is important to recognize businesses that go above and beyond and operate with heart. I know that we utilized Pro Service Moving http://www.proservicemoving.ca/ after seeing the ad on Kijiji. The thing that stood out to us was that we wanted someone that wasn't a rookie, and was insured, bonded and recognized with the BBB. I loved the response rate with this company and the fact that after they told me there pricing I was able to tell them comfortably what my budget was, they were so willing to work within the budget to ensure that my move was exactly what I wanted it to be, efficient, quick, and to have my items and home cared for. I have never been one to rave about companies, but I do believe its important to recognize good people who do what they love from the heart because it helps other people. Wow, I wish I could give these guys more than five stars!!! Dan was punctual, friendly, affordable and so incredibly efficient, I truly cannot say enough wonderful things! This company is by far the most professional I have ever dealt with, I contacted them via email for a quote late at night and was so impressed when I got an immediate response!! Dan and his team know what they are doing. They are professional movers. Everything was moved from Calgary to Edmonton without damage, without wasting anytime, and they showed up on time. We hired them for our most recent move. Very friendly and made good time even though we have way too much stuff. First time having to hire movers and it was a good experience. Pricing was more than fair considering we ended up taking up more than six hours thanks to my ridiculous amount of stuff and the tiny slow elivator in my old building.
