You buy a debit card, load value onto it (with cards or bills) and use that to pay for your washing and drying. It's pretty simple. I had no problem buying the card, adding value, running one super huge washer and then splitting my stuff into three dryers. It's quicker to split stuff up like that. There is enough space for folding the dry clothes. When all was said and done, I was able to turn my card back to the attendant and get the card purchase back. I had timed the dryers right so I had no left over value. Maybe they don't do that for everyone, but I was nice and told her I was visiting my mom and that I was just passing through. They have large capacity washing machines and dryers, which bring once-a-yearers like me, in. Mid-day Friday, there were a few available, without a wait. When I lived in Manhattan ions ago, you had to have your own quarters. Times have changed! You can pay by debit card or credit. (Read their posted sign, which I photographed.) They have a change-maker, accepting 1, 5, 10 and 20 dollar bills. I was glad I had a baggie to catch the quarters. The laundromat is located in a tired strip mall across the street from the county pool. I think it's sort of expensive. But it's probably no more so than other laundromats.

Super Matt is clean, inexpensive, and surprisingly well kept, and it handled my week of laundry without any trouble at all. The routine was simple enough. I settled in for the first half hour while the wash ran, listening to the steady hum of the machines and letting the day slow down a bit. Once the cycle finished, it was an easy transfer into a dryer. Everything here runs on quarters rather than tokens or a debit card, which felt refreshingly straightforward. My $5 in change was more than enough to cover the whole process. There is seating available for anyone waiting out their cycles, and they have a pop machine that does the job if you need something to sip on. Nothing fancy, but perfectly serviceable.
