They have large capacity washing machines and dryers, which bring once-a-yearers like me, in. Mid-day Friday, there were a few available, without a wait. When I lived in Manhattan ions ago, you had to have your own quarters. Times have changed! You can pay by debit card or credit. (Read their posted sign, which I photographed.) They have a change-maker, accepting 1, 5, 10 and 20 dollar bills. I was glad I had a baggie to catch the quarters. The laundromat is located in a tired strip mall across the street from the county pool. I think it's sort of expensive. But it's probably no more so than other laundromats.

I settled in for the first half hour while the wash ran, listening to the steady hum of the machines and letting the day slow down a bit. Once the cycle finished, it was an easy transfer into a dryer. Everything here runs on quarters rather than tokens or a debit card, which felt refreshingly straightforward. My $5 in change was more than enough to cover the whole process.
