I have been impatient of Dr Lee for a few years now. Starting with Josie who listens to what she needs are is both compassionate and efficient as she will schedule you quickly. Following with Christy or one of the hygienists. Who will evaluate you again there's no nonsense in between. You won't be sitting there when they say they'll be right back that's exactly what they mean. Dr Lee will then finish the procedure looking at x-rays speaking to the hygienist. Dr Lee is the ultimate professional. I had a cavity on my last visit so he had to numb me using the needle which I always dread. Yet I hardly feel it then he comes back in and finishes the procedure. From the time I arrived at the office to when I left was maybe 20-25 minutes. It's so important to me not to be left waiting in the lobby and then left in a room unattended for another 20-30 minutes as this has often happened to me and other dentistry. Never has it happened with Dr Lee's office. If I have to come back they'll let me know and schedule an appointment in the very near future. And the results are always outstanding. Well dr. Lee did fine work on my teeth, however the receptionists are rude and arrogant. I work at nite don't get up til noon So appointment s always 2 pm or later . Somehow appoint got scheduled 8:30 am and I show up at 1:50 . The receptionist tells me I miss at 8:30 . I tried to explain to her as I did above that wouldn't have made appt . Anytime n mornings . Recently I had a disappointing appointment with them regarding Cleaning teeth. I called them, the front desk said they can check it out. So I went. They are very efficient which is good, but however, they are not very honest about what they can offer to customer. They took the image of my teeth, and doctor walked in looked at around about couple minutes, and said the teeth is good, and he left. The assistant started to polish in my teeth which is I thought it was cleaning. Until I came back home and realized that wasn't the service I needed for. And they even didn't asking me if I want polish instead of REAL cleaning. It was a very unpleasant experience. read more

So... the one star is for the nice office staff .... It all goes south from there... I had the hardest time trying to find a dentist in the area that accepted Delta dental - I called around and came across Dr. Lee. For my first visit, I apparently came in a day before I was supposed to for a cleaning. The nice person at the front desk advised me they could still fit me in even though it was a day early. I advised them I was new to the area so they took a couple of x-rays. The hygienist took a quick look at my teeth and said "your teeth are very clean.", which I thought was odd. Then Dr. Lee came in - No hello, just opened up and looked around for about a minute and then left..... The hygienist then proceeded to put fluoride on my teeth and then said " we are done!" I am 58 years old and have NEVER been in a dentist chair for less than 30 minutes for a "cleaning" . I've written three different letters to Delta dental advising them of this visit and asked for them to cancel it as I had to go somewhere else for a real cleaning that involves scraping as a normal dentist/hygienist would have done. Delta denied my request and I had to pay out of pocket for the REAL cleaning. I see some people that love this office - I don't know if I caught them on an off day or not but hopefully this does not happen to anyone else as this should be done properly to prevent any issues. Delta dental will also be hearing from me - I've been with them since I was on my parents plan and never sent a single complaint to them until now. I had an extraction done on a very swollen and painful tooth. Dr. Lee was so rough and rude! I have had other teeth extracted and have been numbed many more times that that and have never cried in pain, but I did this time. The Dr. mocked me saying "I am not even pulling yet" and asked if I was so nervous that I needed go somewhere else. When I said I was just in pain he stared at me with a look like "give me a break". Then he rammed the needle in three more times and immediately yanked the tooth, dropped his tools and walked out! Totally ridiculous and incredibly unprofessional and unkind! read more

I had three bad experiences back to back with this office. In all cases, the staff were super nice and attentive, but the overall service was terrible. 1. I went in for a filling. The injections were forcefully administered, and the doctor had no bedside manner. He came in, did his work fast and forcefully, and left. He accidentally dropped a metal burr down the back of my throat and couldn't find it. They were searching the floor as I was trying to choke the thing up and alert them it was in my throat. When I finally pushed it high enough so that he could see it, the doctor grabbed it from my mouth and moved on as if nothing happened. No acknowledgment or apology. 2. I went in the following week for a crown. I checked in 15 minutes early and sat there for nearly an hour with no word from anyone. I finally got up to ask what the delay was and they said they lost my charts. I was out of time and had to reschedule. 3. I came in the third time and had been misinformed as to the procedure. I was told they'd minimally numb my gumline (no injections) for the next procedure since the tooth was already dead from a root canal. When I arrived they said it was a pretty involved procedure and they needed to numb the upper quadrant of my mouth and would be installing a post and etc. They said this should have been explained to me. It wasn't. So I cancelled. In cancelling I complained about these series of issues and no one took responsibility. I was actually corrected -- told I should have googled the procedure to understand what they're doing. I told them googling wasn't the issue. They had specifically misinformed me. Again, I was corrected and told I should just google it. I cancelled all future services. Again, the staff are nice. But there seems to be little ownership or accountability in regards to errors or omissions. The work is high quality (I assume), but done without compassion (in my experience). It would have taken very little to alleviate my concerns. But vocalizing my difficulties led to awkard dismissiveness rather than solutions. read more

I had seen Dr. Lee a number of times and gotten a decent amount of work done after my previous dentist retired a few years back and I had gone without dental insurance for a while. The girls in the office are very nice but to me, it seemed as if Dr. Lee had no respect for others. I had warned everybody during my first appointment that I have a family history of numbing not working and he still accused me of taking medication or drinking caffeine before the visit, even though I mentioned multiple times the family history. I had a root canal and several fillings done by Dr. Lee, including one that was entirely cosmetic and unnecessary which I did not authorize before it was completed. The tooth which my root canal was done on had a temporary filling in for over 6 months before a permanent filling was put in which caused it to crack down the middle. Also, after each normal filling, parts of my teeth broke off only a few days later. It did not cause me any pain and was mostly just cosmetic so I did not bother to have it fixed, it was too much of a hassle to make another appointment for the care I was not happy with. He mentioned that they would be writing out a referral to an oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth extracted, yet it has been 2 years of waiting and calling but no follow-up. Then I called the office where the referral was supposedly made and they said it was never received. I will not be going back, especially since that unauthorized cosmetic filling I mentioned earlier has begun to discolor and is not flushed with the natural part of my teeth at all. It is larger and it is obvious that bacteria has been getting under it but there is nothing I can do at this point other than try not to smile. read more

Went here for a dental cleaning. Was the fastest and most bizarre cleaning I've ever had. After the cleaning, you could see strings coming out of my teeth from whatever weird grit they used. I had my appointment today with Dr. Lee. He is a good dentist once you actually get into the back. I had an appointment at 1 and didn't get into a room until 2. After that I didn't leave until 4. If you don't have a lot of time to wait around don't go to him but if you want quality dentistry that is efficient go here. The dental assistants were great with helping calm my fears and anxiety about dentists. My only complaints about this place are the time it takes and the receptionist was less than polite. I took my daughter there 3 times every time we went they x-rayed her and told us different information about where her cavities are and how many she had. He told her that 4 of her teeth were so bad they would need to be pulled. We then went to another dentist for a second opinion they did one x-ray and were able to fill the cavities in all her teeth and none were pulled. read more

Seriously can't say enough good things about them! The staff is so friendly and helpful! I had an emergency situation where my work schedule was crazy and my insurance was soon to run out all the while I just moved to Oregon but only had California coverage, the staff here worked so quickly and helpfully to get what I needed done ASAP! They went out of their way to look out for things that needed to be delivered to finish my work and called me as soon as they came in making it possible for me to get all my work done before my insurance ran out. This guy literally worked on 3 patients at the same time, came into my room to start step 1, then the next room and the next. Then back to me to ask what 1 of 3 or 4 things I wanted done that day. Then to the next customer and the next one. Then he came back to me to do the painkiller shot, then the next customer and the next one. Then he ran back to my room to start the cavity work then ran to the next room and the next room. It felt like a game show where you see which dentist can work the fastest except I felt like a piece of hamburger meat on the assembly line at In-N-Out Burger. He ground into one of my silver fillings not telling me it had mercury in it which went down my throat. I have had terrible brain fog issues which started to develop ever since then. Get a S.M.A.R.T Certified dentist if you have silver fillings, they know how to work with them because ALL silver fillings contain mercury in them. I made it a point to ask for all their names so I can give credit where credit is due. First I was greeted by Josie who had a lovely smile. This was my first major dental work done here in Redding. Like a lot of people here, I didn't have dental insurance. So, I shopped around for different dentists here and there, and I found David Lee's dental practice. They were very friendly over the phone, and I was able to get a quote (their prices were very reasonable in comparison to most of all the other dental offices I called: I'll say most, because I didn't call every single dentist). There was a little wait time, but thats kinda expected at a dentist office. That's not what surprised me though. I went in for a a root canal procedure on a molar (back chewing tooth). I have had root canals done before on other teeth, and I was expecting 3-4 visits to the dentists. (Now, that is tough with a fulltime job). David got it done in one visit! One visit! I've never heard of a root canal be done in one visit, especially on a molar. He had an x-ray machine hooked up and he was constantly monitoring the progress of the root canal with 3-4 x rays, and it was done. Very professional and efficient. I am a new patient with Dr. Lee and I can not compliment him and his staff enough!!! I have only been in twice ...the first time I had an extraction and today I had a root canal. Can I just tell you there was absolutely ZERO, no pain at all with both procedures, and they were so quick! He is just unbelievable. I had to drive from 3 counties over in order to get my cavities filled, because I live in a rural area and there aren't many options . I called on Monday thinking it would be months before I could get in but was able to get in the next day. I needed three teeth to be looked at and it was recommended that I have one pulled and two capped. He pulled my tooth out in 5 minutes with no pain and scheduled my next visit in two weeks. There are too many bad reviews about Dr. Lee that he doesn't deserve, in my opinion. I went in for a new patient exam & yes, there was a wait till I got into the back, but no wait at all between getting into a back room & seeing Dr. Lee himself. As others have said, he's not particularly talkative, keeping conversation to what is necessary. So if you're looking for a doctor who will make a bunch of small talk that has no bearing on the reason for you being there, go elsewhere. But he does good work--my teeth are EXTREMELY sensitive to the touch of metal, & most dentists & hygienists pretty much ignore that. For that reason I've procrastinated about going to the dentist for as long as possible. But Dr. Lee was so careful--I didn't know I could get a teeth cleaning & exam that doesn't include a bunch of rough handling & pain, so thanks to the dr & staff! Dr Lee was very nice about calling me and resolving an issue I had with customer service.

I had xrays and a satisfactorily cleaning done at another dental office where I was informed that I had two minor right upper molar cavities and one very minor upper left molar cavity --- being that it was pay out of pocket there, I decided to seek out a Dentist who accepted my insurance to get the work done (Big mistake!!). I found Dr.Lee and set up an appointment (where the receptionist [who was just not professional in general] told me not to bother with obtaining my xrays that were done just a month prior, as they'd have to do more anyway)... in any case, after a long wait... I met the very non-personable Dr.Lee. He went over my xrays, said that I have three upper right molar cavities and none elsewhere. He asked me, "Do you want to do it now or later?" --- I opted to have the fillings done then rather than reschedule. Well, he jabbed me with whatever was used to numb the area without warning, then he proceeded to drill away etc --- he seemed extremely impatient, was super rough (sad that I could tell such through the numbing meds) --- he failed to check to see if my bite was good and I am pretty certain he didn't cure the silver fillings long enough (My lower teeth stick to the upper ones when I make the mistake of biting down). After all is said and done, he only ever said, "Don't chew on that side for one day" --- okay... well it's been a week and my mouth is in extreme agony. Everything throbs incessantly. I have never had a filling hurt afterwards (granted the last time I needed one was at least a decade ago --- no recollection of any major throbbing, sensitivity or anything though). It wakes me up at night, I'm popping NSAIDS and I didn't even need anything after I gave birth to any of my children (nor during for one of them lol)! IT IS REALLY PAINFUL! Tomorrow morning I'm going in to see if it just needs an "adjustment" but if it turns out he messed my teeth up and I need a root canal or a complete extraction now I'm going elsewhere for sure and I'm going to be so upset.... these were just minor cavities that didn't even hurt me at all... now I can't even think without a friggin pill. If you can find another Dentist... do so!! So not worth!! read more
