They handed me the ornaments and said 'Merry Christmas, please take them and come back by when you can'. WOW!! What Christmas spirit!! My first time in the store ... loved it. So very cute!! Upon entering there's friendly greetings with offers to help find anything you're looking for, with a gift shop vibe. There's all sorts of stuff here from local artisan clocks to la arge selection of hard to find and retro sodas, beauty products, cards and more. But wait there's more! In the rear, and even bigger space with a large selection of honey and related products, suaces, jellies, butter, milk, eggs, frozen goods of breads, pies, including shrimp, and so much more. But of course there's produce that will obviously vary by season. Today the choices included a variety of tomatoes and onions, fresh garlic, peppers, and fruits. The Derailed Diner inside the travel center is a sit-down restaurant with a train decor that includes a crossing sound that plays at regular intervals in the parking lot. There's also a fried chicken takeout place inside. On my most recent stop I was excited to find that they have added a spin rack of paperback books. I'm always looking for something new to read on road trips and these racks are getting harder to find. I bought the science fiction novels Planet of the Damned by Harry Harrison and Solar Express by L. E. Modesitt Jr. along with some Stuckey's treats.
