Not enough chicken but I really enjoyed the fried rice. Alot of flavor and aroma due to the onions and scallions. This time I got the sweet and sour chicken. It had hardly any actual chicken in it. Wow, where do I start? Lady at front counter is extremely nasty and rude. I'm really surprised she hasn't got a punches in the face yet or worse someone slice her face open, after all this is still Bushwick Brooklyn. She is extremely Argumentive, Confrontational, not a good I deal to have someone like that at front counter. Also they don't do deliveries either, only pick up, no parking in the area because "Wycoff Hospital" takes all the spots and no standing and bust stops everywhere. As well as hydrants. I'm never going back again. The food is really blend. I ordered fried dumplings in hot oil, there is nothing hot (temperature or spice) about them. They are hard to bite in, the not crispy at all. The beef and fried bean curd was also just meh. The garlic sauce is a black sauce with garlic but with no taste. So I came to this restaurant for the third time and I realize it's always crowded with at least 5 people all the time and I know the reason why its because they are so slow in making the food and also taking food orders. I usually get noodles or a chicken dish, fried rice is also quite good. Also, in response to another review here - there's a reason you see all the locals ordering chicken wings and french fries here. These guys must put crack or something in their frying oil, because the dumplings, french fries (which are definitely of the Ore Ida variety) and fried chicken (including the sweet and sour chicken) are just absurd. Not very good. I got shrimp with mixed vegetables, an egg roll, and hot and sour soup. The egg roll tasted and was very burned. The veggies were completely and utterly mushy and the shrimp were not fresh (yes, I realize chinese food has a different scale of "freshness" but these were quite gross). Hot and sour soup had virtually no bamboo or mushrooms. Wow, this Chinese take-out is good. This is the most close-to-authentic Chinese-American food that I have had. It's similar to real Chinese food but slightly altered for more of an American/Hispanic appeal. The food is not greasy or slobbered with fake sauce. The person cooking obviously has experience cooking real Chinese food. For reference, I am Chinese and would choose this place if I wanted something reminding me of Chinese cooking. I went in with low expectations and came out quite impressed. French Fries, Fried Chicken, General Tso's, and Sweet and Sour are good, among others. They cook the General Tso's and Sweet and Sour like certain similar dishes in China rather that the overpowering American style.
