This daycare use to be great, not anymore. Management (Ms Srijana) is totally incompetent and really doesn't care. We have had our kids being offered candy by staff, which we have requested to stop, but somehow keeps continuing, my toddler is often found crying at the end of the day, clinging on to a teacher, who is too busy sweeping up the floor so they can leave early, they have never hired cleaners, the place smells of mould and our toddler is constantly sick. My toddler on two occasions has been found eating asphalt from their broken toddler playground, whilst their teachers are sat in a corner on their phones, chatting, yet management does nothing, we have requested she doesn't play there anymore, but why are they even letting toddlers play in an unsafe area, and not being properly monitored. Our toddler on multiple occasions has come home with severe diaper rash, so we make it a point to check her diaper before we leave and staff even argue amongst themselves as to who should change the diaper, after you tell them she has a soiled diaper. We have also found the toddler teacher completely left the room to go to the outside playground to take a call leaving at least 6 toddlers in the classroom unattended for at least 10min, while I came to drop off my toddler, this was brought to management, they did nothing. Their ac stopped working a few weeks ago in my child's classroom and they did not make it a priority to get it fixed, in this hot weather even though it was brought to their attention several times, they have also had issues with billing being incorrect too. The list goes on. This place needs a deep clean, equipment needs upgrading and bottom line management needs to be changed. read more

This place is serviceable, but far from great. My daughter attended Lee Highway KinderCare for 3 years and I always thought she was safe and the staff offered her adequate attention. Many of the staff over the years showed a true passion for taking care of children. There's a significant amount of turnover, especially at the Assistant Director spot. Many of our favorite teachers have moved on (which is good for them) and have been replaced by some good and some not so good teachers. We signed up for the weekly Phonics Program and there was a significant lack of communication between the Phonics instructor and parents regarding what is being covered on a week to week basis. We also encountered many billing issues during the first year of our tenure. The final straw came when the Director advised us they would stop bussing to/from my daughter's elementary school. This had been a service offered for many years but was discontinued due to 'logistical" reasons. Her recommendation was that I transfer to Oakton KinderCare which is not convenient for us, costs more, and has some questionable online reviews. For the amount of money that I paid over the years, I would have expected to have been treated better than this. If you select this daycare, just know when push comes to shove that the almighty dollar comes first, not your child! read more

We had a great experience at Lee Highway Kindercare. My son was in the 4's class and learned so much from Ms. Samira, Ms, Kelsey and Mr. Jeff. They did fantastic activities that kept him engaged and he spent a lot of time outside with his friends! My daughter was in the infants class and adored her teachers. They were loving and caring with her and she also did some great activities and art projects. We loved all the pictures that the teachers took each day and I always felt like I knew what was going on in my children's classrooms. Srijana and Sam were also excellent to work with and we always felt like the communication was timely and informative. We also appreciated that they were extremely flexible with us when we were moving overseas for my husband's job and didn't have a firm date for a long time. They worked with us and took a huge weight off our minds! I highly recommend Kindercare, and the Lee Highway location in particular! read more

I wanted to love this school because it was close to our home and the Director initially seemed kind. However,it was literally our worst nightmare. If I could give negative stars, I would. In sum, a teacher shoved our 3 year old daughter to the ground and, to my and my husband's horror, the administration covered it up. Luckily, our daughter is verbal and was able to relay the details of what happened to her. My daughter attended this location for a brief period of time (less than 3 months) this summer. One evening, she reported to me that she was shoved to the floor by another teacher (whose name I later learned was Ms. Gabby), that she had been crying, and was consoled by another teacher whom she did not know. I reported the incident to the school and demanded to meet with those in charge. First, to my horror, the administration was aware of the incident and decided not to mention it to myself or my husband (in contrast to their stated policies and procedures). Second, between the time that I alerted the school about the incident and was able to meet with them, I was given literally three different (and inconsistent) reports about what transpired. Third, without so much as speaking to my child - the victim of the incident - the school closed the matter after determining that they could not "substantiate" the allegation. The teacher who shoved my child to the floor is still employed there. I reported this incident to the corporate office and nothing was done. This may be reflective of a larger problem but I have not done enough research on this. It is sufficient that this particular location is wholly unacceptable. Putting the above-incident aside, prior to this incident, I was also concerned that teachers had been showing movies to my child without my notice or permission (we do not generally place our child in front of television as a means of entertainment) and were declining to take the children outside when it was appropriate to do so. read more

I love it here. The teachers are so nice and they really make my child feel loved. At first I was very scared and apprehensive but once I saw how loving the teachers were it really put me at ease. This location also has great prices for full time care they offer 630-630pm, which is longer than most daycare centers read more

My kids have been enrolled at Lee Highway KinderCare for 4.5 yrs. I must say that we have never had a bad experience. The facility is always clean and teachers/administrative staff are great! There has never been a time where I felt uneasy about dropping my kids off. The primary teachers are excellent! The Director is very responsive to any concerns. You can truly tell that they love what they do. The Center hosts event such as Parents Night Out, Back to School Night, Parents Breakfasts, Costume parades, holiday parties, etc. as a way to interact with families. I also LOVE the "private" kindergarten class (for the younger 5 yr olds). At first, I was a little hesitant about moving my son to the kindergarten room because of the tuition increase, BUT the daily activities and classroom curriculum are excellent and well planned. My son enjoys how the teacher makes learning interesting and exciting. They also have small outings to reinforce what the kids are learning in the kindergarten room. Since December 2018 we have had 5 kids (including 2 school age) attend Lee Highway KinderCare. Our kids seemed to enjoy themselves and my wife and I have seen their growth. Our daughter attended Lee Highway KinderCare for several months. We had to move to a different state for a job or we would have kept her in longer. I can only speak to our experience, but overall it was good. Our daughter was three and turned four while she attended. Our two children have been enrolled at Kinder Care Lee Highway for over five years. During that time, they developed extremely strong personal bonds with their teachers and we have always been amazed at the professionalism and caring all of their teachers have exhibited to us and our family. For us, as parents, it has been so comforting to know that our kids are with these professionals each day, and we have always looked forward to seeing the teachers at drop off and pick-up. Specifically, we would like to highlight Ms. Anna, Ms. Amelia, Ms. Beatrice, Ms. Jihan, Ms. Neelu, Ms. Stutti, Ms. Susan, Ms. Joyce, Ms. Gabby, Ms. Violeta, Ms. Salwa, Ms. Jackie, Ms. Nermin, Ms. Samira, Ms. Olivia, Ms. Omar, Ms. Diane, and even Ms. Jeannie, the chef!! (I think I named pretty much every teacher and that is because our children have been through every classroom Kinder Care offers!). The Center Director, Ms. Srijana, is great and very responsive to all emails. It is obvious she cares for all the children at Kinder Care and wants to make it a special place for the kids. The Associate Director, Ms. Candace is also wonderful. She is always quick to indulge our daughter by playing Disney princess songs whenever requested! Each and every one of the Kinder Care teachers has their own relationship with our children, and we feel that they are the main reason our kids will be well prepared and successful in elementary school. The level of care of each of them gives has always amazed us...taking their own time to create decorations for the classroom and other activities, always keeping us updated on what the classes are doing, and helping us through the transition phases which at times have been difficult in fact because our children have such a bond with their previous teacher and don't want to leave. We are really appreciative as parents of these teachers and the way our family has been treated over the past five years. read more

Our 5 year old son has been attending since December 2019. I honestly have no complaints. We are a military family and previously he attended the child development Center on base. I can say this... His behavior and attitude has done a complete 360 since starting. He actually wants to go to daycare every day...even on the weekends. He has learned so much especially since they offer Phonics. To my knowledge he hasn't had any behavior problems. We looked at several centers in the area and this center is definately one of the better ones. It is a little more expensive however, you get what you pay for. It makes my day when they send you videos and pictures throughout the day. read more

My family and I lived in VA for about 6 months had enrolled our daughter in the 3s Preschool classroom. She adapted well, made friends easily, and learned a lot. She was involved in an incident with another child and that situation was resolved swiftly and professionally, which we really appreciate. There was one teacher, that worked the late shift, who was not very attentive. But she no longer works there so all is well. Every other teacher, the Director, and the Assistant Director, have been wonderful and left a lasting impression on our daughter. Ms Srijana, the Director, is such a great communicator with a warm welcoming personality. Our daughter still talks about her teacher, Ms Violeta, and how she misses reading books, singing songs, and building legos with her. I loved pickup time when all the kids would be dancing and having fun together. This center also did a great job with involving the families by hosting late afternoon/evening events. We have had our children enrolled here since 2012, and are overjoyed with the care and attention they received from all teachers. We are only leaving because of a move. The staff and teachers know each child by name and quickly got to know each of children's likes and dislikes. Meals are provided for all children; however I especially loved that I was able to bring in homemade food as each of my children transitioned from milk to table food. Also our children entered kindergarten well prepared and eager to learn as the KinderCare environment encourages learning through play as well as more structured activities. read more

This was the first daycare that I brought my daughter to as a six-week old and we are so thankful for the love and care she received from her teachers. Even after we moved from the area, we routinely return to visit with the teachers and the Director phones me to check in on my little one. As a first time Mama, I was in over my head but these teachers lovingly helped me and my daughter through. We've since had to move and change centers... This has been the first daycare that I have brought my son to. Actually the only one that seemed like a right fit for him. They work with your concerns and what would work best for your child. Ms. Gabby in the twos is my absolute favorite. She has so much patience and is very attentive when it comes to our kids. She even has my stubborn toddler "wanting" to sit on the potty, something I have tried and failed at. I highly recommend this place. We toured four or five daycares in Fairfax before choosing the KinderCare on Lee Highway. Our daughter has been going there for a few months now and loves it. We have consistently found the teachers and administrators to be very professional, responsive to our needs, and great with the kids. KinderCare works with us when we have special requests, and its accreditation and flexible pricing and schedules were attractive, too.
