But we quickly noticed there was a premium tour experience available through Grand Traverse Tours. Their shiny and clean premium vehicles were always parked right at the entrance and their groups were being guided past the lines we stood in by their guide and driver. We knew then that when we returned we would want to be a part of their VIP experience, and that we would want to bring friends with us to enjoy it. INITIAL CONTACT: After reviewing their easy to navigate and well organized homepage we completed an online reservation request. We received a prompt and timely response to confirm availability and were directed to call at our convenience to make a specific reservation. I spoke with the owner Greg and he is terrific to work with. He was happy to answer all of my questions in an unhurried and no pressure manner. His guidance when creating our custom itinerary was much appreciated as he helped us to narrow down the very many choices there are to make sure we found the right tour for our group - which we most certainly did. COST: We were presently surprised to discover that the cost of their tours is very competitive to the more average experiences. In fact, with as few as 6 people we were actually ahead financially and of course enjoyed the VIP experience to boot. DRIVER / GUIDE: Todd arrived early, was professionally dressed, and most pleasant to be around. He knew the wineries as well as you would expect and was happy to share his insights with us. He called the day before to introduce himself as well as the morning of our event just to make sure all was well. He was always there when you needed him and never hard to find. His presence definitely elevated our experience. THE VEHICLE: Our group has all been in similar domestically produced vehicles by Ford and GM and such at one time or another so we were all expecting the ride to be like that of a school bus or airport shuttle - bumpy, noisy, and just adequately comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the ride quality and comfort of their Mercedes-Benz A-Style Limousine which rivaled that of the MB sedans - no kidding. It was like gliding on a magic carpet, members of our group made several comments in this regard, myself included. THE VIP EXPERIENCE: As we anticipated our group was dropped and picked up right at the entrance and Todd walked us in and guided us to the front of the lines at each stop. Checking in was effortless and quick. We never felt rushed and our pace was relaxing and fun. SUMMARY: We can hardly wait to return to Traverse City, and when we do we will of course be calling Grand Traverse Tours to help elevate our experience once again.

I called her again 3 days before the trip to re-confirm the details which she did. When we arrived at the airport for a ride, she said she didn't have me on her schedule. She offered to come get us, but she was an hour and a half away - leaving us stranded at the airport looking for another ride. A few days later, I reluctantly called her to confirm our ride back to Traverse City, which we had scheduled for between 10-11am. She seemed to not remember me from stranding me 3 days prior. She said she would come get me at 8am instead of our agreed upon time. When I told her that wouldn't work and that I would book with a different company she became upset. I told her I would probably have to book a back-up ride if I booked with her anyways since she was so unorganized and had already left us stranded once. Another guest at the wedding told me she cancelled on him too and sent him a nasty text message. No way this is a legit business that has insurance. Pay any price to use a different company!

I called Chariot and was immediately told by the woman on the other line to text her our details as she was on the road. I sent all of our details to chariot reserving a 845 am trip from Boyne Mountain resort to Traverse city. I also asked via text if I could get a confirmation as in my past experiences that was something provided in one form or another. I did receive a text confirmation and at that point went on to enjoy celebrating a best friends wedding. After hearing a few stories from other guests about getting stranded by their car service,I reached out to chariot asking for one more confirmation about 845 am pickup...this was the night before the ride. I received one message back stating that "I already excepted a ride with another company." I immediately tried to reach out to chariot to speak on the phone instead of text and my calls or texts no longer went through Which leads me to believe I was blocked. My fiancé and I then were tasked with calling every company we can in every nearby city (with 8 hours to spare) to see if we could still catch the only flight out that day. I was lucky enough to find an amazing company who drove us down . Long story short is NEVER rely on chariot, especially if you are not from around there. My family rented their largest bus for a Lions game and our driver was terrible. His driving was…read moreawful. There was hard braking and quick lane changing constantly; In addition, we had to wait 90 minutes for our pick up after he told us numerous times he was "almost there"; we had to stand in cold, windy weather, not knowing when our driver would even be arriving. He had no idea what he was doing or where he was going. The company did not provide any compensation or partial refund at all. We also had people in their 70's, 80's and a person in a wheelchair. The driver didn't even apologize. I would never use them again.
