A great electrician and a wonderful person: I called Lee's Assembly Required and Mr. Lee came out the same day. In fact within hours of the call. I had a few jobs for him during my appointment, and everything got done quickly and efficiently. 1, Check and outside light with no power. *He checked the light and found a potential wire fire for the cause of the light failure. He completed that light and ensured the two others were correctly wired and working. 2. Check the ceiling fan that stopped working. *He found that the switch was bad and the fan had died. He replaced the ceiling fan with another and in it's placed installed a light. The entire time he was telling me what he was doing and why. He was kind, well-spoken, and great as his craft. He is now my new electrician and I plan on using him more in the future. He charged me a very fair charge. There was a little misunderstanding on when the appointment was. He had forgot about it but came out to do the work on a Sunday. Supposedly, there is a weekend premium charge but since he forgot about the appointment, he didn't charge me for the weekend premium. Overall, he finished the job and all is well and he also let me know that there were other potential problems that could arise in the future if they are not corrected now. read more

The guy was over an hour late and wanted to charge an extra $65 to go a couple of blocks to Home Depot and get a transformer that was needed to install the doorbell and chime. What electrician doesn't have a doorbell transformer? He didn't want to do the work; he tried to leave as soon as he detected a problem; the guy grudgingly offered to go buy a transformer for an extra hour of pay. Don't even get me started on the helper who just stood there doing nothing. read more

I own a 90-year old home and as any old-home owner knows, that means many generations of changes, upgrades, and good, bad, and ugly DIY patches are a part of the package. One day, the lights and exhaust fan in my bathroom just stopped working. Mr. Lee came out and did a thorough, expert assessment of the house's wiring and breaker panels (and antique fuse box). He quickly and efficiently tested all the switches, fixtures, and outlets in the bathroom. He was able to identify the location of the problem in no time. It turns out, it was, indeed one of those old DIY junction boxes in the attic needed to be cleaned up. He fixed it like a boss! If I had to say anything about "Lee's Assembly Required" I would say, stringent. I had just had major surgery, and my thermostat had broken in 90 degree weather. Finances very tight I tried to install a new one myself. Up and down from bed to seat feverishly for 12 hours I hooked all the 4 wires in there prospective places. I flipped the breakers only to find that I needed a new switch. I HAD to call for help. They quoted me $210 min. They fixed the breakers, and the thermostat. When I asked where I went wrong on the thermostat, he said I needed to move the red wire over one space to the RC space. REALLY!!! He said that $85 for knowledge, because the manufacture doesn't put that in the manual. A- for alacrity F- for compassion. I guess knowledge is power. Final bill $210 :( O read more

The dryers stop working due to electrical/breaker box issues. The building is old and i thought I would never find a TRUE qualified electrician. Mr. Lee came out and quickly accessed the situation. I decided to use this company due to the positive reviews, but after my negative experience, I truly believe the reviews are from friends or family of Mr. Lee. First appt Mr. Lee never showed up and when I contacted him, he said he was still at another job site and forgot to call me. When he finally made it out to my house, he gave me a quote of $570 and justified his price by telling me the job will take all day. Well, Mr. Lee came with his assistant and rushed thru the work and took only 1 hr to do the job. Usually I'm happy with the swift work but Mr. Lee conned me to accept his high estimate by telling me the job will take him all day to complete. He also had me pay the full price upfront before starting on the work which I now understand why. And to make matters worse, his assistant used my restroom, did a #2, stunk up my place so I ended up with a crappy experience overall. read more

We purchased two Nest thermostats for our two-story house. My husband and I followed the directions and assumed it would be a typical and easy install. We turned on our thermostats, set the temp, and left the house for a few hours only to return to a sauna! Fortunately, it had cooled enough outside that opening the windows helped cool the house a few degrees. The next day my husband spend 2 hours on the phone with a Nest technician who was unable to diagnose the problem. I called Stephen on a Thursday morning and by Thursday evening he was at our house working on the thermostats. It turns out, not only did we need to connect the c-wire at the thermostat, there was additional work to be done on the unit itself AND with the wiring. Stephen was in and out under 2 hours. He was friendly, professional, and got the work done quickly. In the week since, he has contacted me twice to follow-up to make sure the thermostats are functioning properly.
