Gentry Custom Woodworking did an excellent job designing, manufacturing and installing our new kitchen cabinet. It has seven sliding shelves on each side. They glide out and are easy to load. High-quality materials and work. I saw them at the Tacoma Home Show and had been talking with them over a two-year period. When I was ready to move ahead on the project, Aaron came out to see the site and submitted the proposal. Before starting work, he returned to verify measurements and the layout. When the cabinet was ready, he and Kevin came out and did the installation. They also took the cabinet that was there and moved it downstairs and repaired two of the doors, so it is now useable. I had forgotten that I was supposed to order the hardware to match what we already had. Aaron took photos and placed the order and returned and installed the hardware when it arrived. We couldn't be happier that we chose Gentry Custom for our kitchen refacing. They are kind, honest, thoughtful, positive and take pride in quality work. We liked how they do the work themselves (instead of hiring others) and have high standards for excellence. When we couldn't afford an add-on for the bid, they decided to surprise us by generously throw it in for us free of charge anyway. They are a couple of good Christian guys who actually care about people, care about their work, and care about reflecting God's love. In the past, we have had challenges with contractors cutting corners on quality, taking way longer than expected and continually raising the price. Working with the Gentry's was the opposite of our past horror stories. They finished when they said they would, they ensured it looked excellent and they were totally honest and upfront about the price. I couldn't recommend Gentry Cabinet to enough people. After looking at pull out shelves for our kitchen for the last 10 years we finally did it, and I'm not sure why we didn't do it sooner. The amount of room and functionality gained has been unbelieveable. Aaron came out and measured everything giving us his expert opinion on what would work best for our space. The installation was done quickly by Aaron and Kevin and after 6 months I'm more in love with my shelves than when they were installed. Wow. I am so impressed by this company. I called Gentry Custom Woodworking last Saturday afternoon expecting to reach their voicemail and was shocked when, Kevin, the owner of the business, answered my call. Even though Kevin knew he wasn't going to be able to work on my project (I'm in Seattle, so I'm outside of their service area) he spent 30+ minutes talking to me about my kitchen remodel and offering his expertise and advice. I came away from our conversation with 4 pages of detailed notes on everything from how to best proportion upper cabinetry to how to select quality plumbers and electricians. Kevin REALLY knows his stuff and it shows. I feel so incredibly lucky to have called Kevin! I still can't believe how generous he was with his time and knowledge. I asked him again at the end of our call if he'd ever consider working on a project in Seattle, and he said no, they really don't take projects up here. It started out with a trip to the Tacoma Home show earlier this year, my wife and I had the opportunity to meet Kevin and Aaron Gent. They run a 3rd generation business in Tacoma, Gentry Cabinets. Kevin's service was fantastic and exactly what I needed. After a small kitchen fire required some re-work of existing cabinets, Kevin stepped in and consulted on how best to approach not only his own work (cabinet building) but also advised and gave recommendations for the other jobs, like countertop repair. His cabinetry work was fully custom built, very fast, and in a reasonable price. Color matching was impressive given existing cabinets are 20 years old From consult to project-finished was a little over a week. We had beautiful cabinets that were the wrong size for a new refrigerator. Our cabinets had been replaced when refrigerators were shorter. So instead of having to replace all the cabinets in the whole kitchen, I called Gentry Customer Remodel to see what they could do. Arron came out and was able to come up with a new cabinet that he would design and build to match my other cabinets and have a new refrigerator fit in the area I wanted. He assured me he could match the color of my cabinet and he was absolutely right! The new cabinet is beautiful, the workmanship and the color match was perfect. No one can tell that it was a different cabinet built recently. Perfect match! We were so pleased. As for the quality and workmanship, it was wonderful. They finished the insides, the shelves and soft closing hinges( my old cabinets were not finished in the inside ). I am so pleased with Father and son working together to install my new cabinet. I am the pickiest person I know. I have that eye that can spot a flaw a mile away. Kevin and Aaron from Gentry Custom remodel exceeded my expectations. My husband and I hired the father and son team to remodel our kitchen, resurface our laundry room, and bathroom. They were very collaborative in the remodel process and shared a lot of great ideas we ended up using in our design. They are both very knowledgeable regarding wood, stain, paint, how they look, interact, etc. They worked long hours and on the weekend to get the job done on-time. Their craftmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. Even after it was completed there were a couple small things I wanted to change and they had no issue returning to make it exactly how we wanted it to be.
