I went to pick up supper in Milan, Tn and ordered chicken poppers for my wife and fish for Mr. we live approximately 15 miles away. got home with the order and it wasn't fish. it would as the most overcooked , tough chicken in place of my fish. my wife's order had the wrong sides. I was unable to eat the chicken as it was like jerky. fed it to my dogs. we have always enjoyed Lee's in Milan but tonight was a BIG disappointed. tried to call and could not get through. disappointed. Lees has been staple of the Milan for over 4 decades. It's a greasy business so yes and yes most of the employees are under 20 so that covers most of the complaints posted. The young man took my order and asked my name since it was to go and then used my name on several conversations after that. Very good. Yes I had to wait but for fresh livers it is worth it. The young man said it would be five minutes and asked if I minded. I didn't and really I do not think it actually took that long. The livers were good and hot. The slaw was delicious as I remembered and the mashed potatoes tasted as good as they always did. The restaurant is bright and newer. This is my 2nd time eating Lee's. Once 1 1/2 years ago and now during COVID-19 as drive thru only. I would give 5 stars for our first visit. It was carry out to feed 8+ people and we bought fried chicken, fried livers and gizzards and a variety of sides and everyone enjoyed it. Today I would say 3 stars. 30 minutes in drive thru. We ordered a couple chicken sandwiches with sides of potato wedges and a couple of chicken poppers meals w/pasta salad sides. We asked for honey mustard dipping sauces but they must've been so rushed they forgot. My sandwich wasn't that great. The bun was cold and over all just ok. But we waited 20 minutes for chicken strips and they didn't tell us there would be a wait for those. Nope. This is NOT it! I've driven by this place and wanted to stop a hundred times for what seems like decades. I finally did on 5-16-21. I should have waited a few more decades because it was a mistake, and wasted time and money I'll never get back. The line was about 5-6 cars deep in the double drive thru. The odd thing is that they take orders one at a time on the speakers. It took about 20 minutes start to finish. Not bad.... Not great. I'll happily wait a long time for good food. Unfortunately this was not good food. On top of it being mediocre it was incorrect. On top of that.... How can you be this busy and pass out cold food??? I ordered a 3 wing meal (SPICY) with Red Beans and Potato wedges as well in case the Red Beans sucked. I've learned to anticipate bad RBR more than good but it will never stop me from trying them when I see them on a menu. I received 3 of the tiniest wings I've ever seen. To amplify the BS, they were NOT spicy. Hell, they weren't even slightly temperature hot. The Red Beans are the absolute worst I've ever had thus far in my entire life. There was like Rotel in it or something and it only took a bite to be over it. My backup potato wedges sucked as well. Cold, soggy and just terrible and they didn't give me any ketchup. Although the tiny wings were cold and wrong, they did actually taste good hence the second star. My wife just ordered a Chicken Sandwich and some gizzards. We both ate one gizzard and then threw them away. She ate her chicken sandwich without complaint so I guess it may have been good. I don't know what she would say, but I know she's not writing this review. Bottom line.... If you like gas station chicken, go there because that's what you'll get here with a longer wait. It's better then KFC but the employer Kaya who was at the drive thru window she was very rude her vibe was off she didn't smile especially when I tried smiling at her and saying thank you I had asked her several times for hot sauce and she kept saying she couldn't hear me when I was literally right there in her face lol I'm not going to shout or yell at the girl I believe I was hearable at that point she seemed like she had a off attitude Maybe don't be at the window is she's going to have a bad day read more

With that said let's get started. I just finished dinner at Lee's. Now my family and I drive by this place all the time so my dad and I figured we'd stop in. The interior made me a bit wary about the food. It had me thinking it'd be your southern fast food and no love would be put into the food after all the interior looked like a Burger King/McDonald's type of place. Then the food came. I could tell from the first bite of my chicken fried steak they made love to it. They could've gotten those frozen Tyson chicken fried steaks, you know the ones I'm talking about. But I'm glad they didn't. The batter was nice and crispy and had some heat to it and the gravy also had a bit of a kick to it. The coleslaw was very good too it was the mayo I think. Don't quote me on that. I always get the mayo and vinegar coleslaws mixed up. Always. The biscuits were good too. Ordered food Sat at window for 15 minutes after paying, then they came to window and said it will 10 to 15 minutes because they hadn't started cooking it, I told them couldn't wait any longer, to just put it back on my card. We stopped in on 11/17 and placed an ordEr for a family meal. When we got to the window she confirmed the order and read the contents back to me and handed over the bag. When we got home it was the wrong order, I checked part of it before leaving but it was a big order and I didn't check it all. I called and spoke to Lisa the manager who apologized and stated she would refund the order but it has not been refunded. The story behind Lees is we always go when we are home visiting family, it's 8 hours away from me and an hour and a half from my sister so we can't just run back up for the correct order. It's our favorite and we always look forward to stopping there when we are home. I know mistakes happen and I was content with the refund but it did not happen. This place is a hidden gem for anyone who isn't from the area. Most people I've spoken to from the Milan and surrounding area eat at Lee's quite often. I've heard from a few people to grab some lees when I got a little hungry but I decided otherwise. On my way out of town I pulled over and grabbed a few pieces of chicken and a biscuit. This stuff was very good! Wayyyy better then KFC and the biscuit tasted buttery and delicious. The seeet tea was also good! My friend told me they make the best Gizzards. Not really impressed. While ordering the advertised price per meal was 6.49. At check out I was charge 6.99. I wanted the meal with no drink. Asked the cashier to please leave them off. When I noticed the difference and requested an explanation. She told me that because I didn't want a drink she changed me to a different meal. This was not my request nor was it beneficial to me. She went and asked someone else about it, they came to the window and told me that was the price. We were traveling at the time and I didn't have time to really argue the point. Delicious food, I've never gotten anything I didn't like. They were out of livers (not surprising, they are delicious and it was a Sunday afternoon) so I decided to try gizzards for the first time. I was not disappointed! The atmosphere is extremely welcoming. Upgrading the building was a smart move. All of the staff was extremely helpful and attentive but one stood out - Kaelis took my order and he was great! He waited patiently while I decided if I wanted to try something new and even offered to let me try a gizzard first to see if I liked it. His energy was positive and upbeat.
