I had a large order of fried shrimp (around $9.50) and potstickers (around $6.) The breading on the shrimp was too thick and heavy, but the shrimp were de-veined and clean. You also get a dipping sauce which I'm pretty sure is sweet and sour sauce mixed with standard red cocktail sauce. And the usual hot Chinese mustard, which is good on almost everything. The potstickers came with hot mustard and I think soy sauce, or it could have been soy sauce mixed with some potsticker sauce. The building is old and run down but clean, and the bathroom is clean. Went to this place with a higher expectations due to yelp and google reviews. I'm pretty disappointed because their food was not as good as I thought it would be. Ordered the egg roll as an appetizer and it was not even good at all. It was crunchy on the outside and it tasted just like soggy celery inside. Our meal came less than 5 mins after our appetizer. Ordered the fried shrimp (very thick batter, yuck) with pork fried rice and it was ok. My husband ordered sweet and sour spare ribs. Lee's Garden has a manager who treats their customers poorly. She has built an infamous reputation by belittling and disrespecting customers. It was well known around town that she acts in this manner because the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen was spectacular.. but in the last few years, the quality and taste of the food being served has gone downhill almost casually. The lack of kindness and quality service, however, has remained a cornerstone of Lee's Garden. Now lacking the delicious appeal, Lee's Garden has not held on to even their most loyal patrons. I had eaten here growing up as a child, last time I had visited there was in 1995 after my mother passed away as that was her favorite place to eat. We were in the area today and decided to stop there and order food to bring home. We got home and realized that I was over charged, one of our combination meals didn't come (my husband's, so now he doesn't even get to eat, not that he is missing anything since the food is so nasty) and when I called to tell them, I was told I didn't order the meal, but was charged for it anyway. I had written down everything I wanted and we watched her write down the order from my list, she even reread the order to us and we told her it was correct! I will never return! Our Egg Foo Young was salty, the Pot Stickers were bland, the rice was dry and tasteless, I can't even finish my meal because the meal is nasty! I paid over$100 for this food and was really looking forward to a nice chinese meal. Too bad I wasted good money on this, I could have paid less and gotten something a lot more enjoyable for that price!!!! It's nowhere near the best Chinese I've ever had, but it's solid, and the best I can seem to find around here. It's the same Cantonese menu I've grown up with, but done quite well. I get a little nostalgic for egg foo young, moo shoo, and chow foon every now and then, and Lee's is about the best I can find. The service is always friendly and attentive. Update, we went back last night and the service was much better. I also tried their Kung Pao Chicken for the first time and it was fantastic. No breading, lots of peanuts, big pieces of thinly sliced chicken, and everything was soooo fresh! I'm having leftovers for lunch now and I still can't get over how good it is. We have always loved Lee's Garden. The food is good, the portions are large, and the atmosphere and tall booths allow for good conversations. The drawback: the service. The staff is polite, but, today, for instance, I ordered a Sprite when we ordered our food. After asking for said beverage the THIRD time (we had already received our waters, appetizers, and meals), the waitress FINALLY came over and plopped a glass and can of Sprite on the very edge of the table (right in front of my toddler and SIL) and hurried away without so much as making eye contact. Our waters were not refilled during the entire meal and we were not checked on at all until the waitress brought our check and I nearly had to yell to catch her before she took off so that I could request more water (even my three-year-old had finished all of her water before she had finished eating). That said, they're great for takeout. This is the only place I've had sweet and sour anything (pork, chicken, shrimp, etc.) that I've actually enjoyed. They do a gold-colored sauce instead of the typical, gloppy, red sauce most places do. All in all, we will go again. I order the same combo every time: egg drop soup, Chinese BBQ pork, sweet & sour chicken, and pork fried rice all for about $6. So, I can't vouch for the other items on the menu, but these items are above average to excellent. Typically, I can't stand lemon/orange/sweet&sour chicken at other Chinese restaurants. The sweet & sour chicken at Lee's garden is the best I've had, not soggy like most Chinese restaurants and I love the Hawaiian sauce. The food took me back to a favorite Chinese place I loved as a child growing up. ( another state) Just good Chinese food. Nothing weird. Kung poa chicken was so good. We came from out of town on a short vacation and are always looking for a great Chinese place to eat at dinner. We were impressed. The food was great and there was a lot of it.
