For many years I have utilized the truck stops in Troutdale and always cast a wary eye toward this Chinese place tucked in the corner. But it was usually too early to too late, or I was in too big a hurry. On this opportune visit it was lunch time and finally I had a chance to finally try Yu's Garden. The lunch menu was both varied and fairly priced. I tried the General Tsao's lunch with hot and sour soup. There was a lady handling the serving duties and she was excellent handling the few of us who were seated in the dining area. I assume someone else handled the lounge as several people entered that as I ate lunch. The soup was quite good, not too peppery but loads of flavor. The General Tsao was a very good representation of American Chinese food. The flavors really popped and there was quite enough to fill up even me. All in all, I really enjoyed Yu's even though it is decidedly in need of an interior upgrade. Skip the truck stop food and give Yu's Garden a try. read more

We ordered takeout from here after seeing the glowing reviews. We ordered via 3rd party and my 8yo daughter went with me to pick it up. I was a little put off from the second we walked in; no employee present for several minutes, no one sitting down, and sketchy people going to the lounge. The lighting was dark, surfaces dirty, and I would not have felt comfortable dining in with my family. The food itself was okay...whereas I thought it was average and would entertain getting takeout again, the rest of them unanimously gave it a 'thumbs-down'. Probably won't be back. read more

I had high hopes for this place. My mother has been coming here for years. Unfortunately, my food was all overcooked. The rice was dry and crunchy, the shrimp and Gen Tso chicken were bland, and the Sweet & Sour Pork was dry. The hot & sour soup and egg drop soup were tasty though. I came to the restaurant Saturday evening 20 minutes before close and the second I walked in the door the Chinese lady with the mask told me were closed then the other lady says what you want? so they cooked my small order only took less than 10 minutes then the lady that told me we were closed the first time stands there with my order and starts lecturing me about getting there much earlier I felt like they didn't want me there, duct tape on signs, bathroom smells , looks like no maintenance has been done in a long time a dump, menus that have price changes written right over the old numbers looks like they could use my business I never will go there again there is plenty of Chinese food restaurants to go to if there was a zero star i would give it read more

I am ashamed to say I forgot to take pictures, because the moment we opened the take home box we ate it. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken, it was large pieces of chicken breast with a super crispy breading, and the stickiest sauce, spicy, sweet, and amazing! We also got the pork fried rice which was incredibly delicious, crispy and perfect with the chicken. The service is lovely, they were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was cute, attached to a bar, which seemed good too. We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in for late lunch after a trip to Columbia Gorge outlet mall and we were blown away by the great food in what appeared to be a very unassuming place behind Love's truck stop. My friend had salt and pepper shrimp which she loved. I got sesame chicken and it was likely the best ever, chicken was tender and flavorful. Sauce was divine! Also got sautéed broccoli to balance out the meal; very tasty. Service was very pleasant. Will come back at next opportunity!!! read more

We use them regularly, and out of nowhere the portion sizes were cut in half. The food still tastes great, but claiming that "half the portion is just as good as the original" is not acceptable. Prices have gone up while portions have gone down, which significantly impacts the overall value. Consistency and transparency matter, especially for loyal customers. read more

The service was extremely slow . When we walked in there was a woman in the back of the room making ,what looked to be dumplings or something of the sort. We ordered 3 dishes when they opened at 11am. We ordered House Lo Mein, House Chow Fun and Beef with double mushroom. We were surprised how much ingredients were in each dish. Good portions of beef was included in the lo mein too. There were good size of shrimp in both the noodles. The service was quick. Let's start with service the waitress were quick, the place was not crowded so you were seated quickly. When it comes to the menu they have a lot of combo options vs. singular items. Also on all combos there are no substitutions so if you don't eat pork definitely pick a singular dish. Heads up they charge $6 for a shot. The lounge had football on which was a plus(until a staff member changed it while she ate ). Overall it's a quick little spot to come grab a cheap bite I feel they definitely give you enough food for the combo prices. Very authentic Chinese food! We loved it. We ordered the House Lo Mein and salt and pepper squid. The noodles were not soggy, had enough meat and shrimps, slightly smoky, "wok" flavor, and seasoned just right. The squid, on the other hand, was slightly salty but was very crunchy and not chewy. I was going to give it a 5-star rating but the white rice that came with the squid was not warm and was scraped from the bottom of the pot. No complaints, wait staff friendly...however On the TV behind us they had a video of a fish having his face cut off, gutted, and just some very brutal stuff I didn't want to see while eating. It was such a delight to find good chinese food in this part of town. The flavor is really good and it is definitely american-chinese food inspired flavors! It is on the sweet side just It like panda express but cooked with better, fresher ingredients and the shrimp is the right size! I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again.
