    Geek Squad-Not Best Buy. We had a very strange and…read morefrustrating experience with the Geek Squad at the Visalia Best Buy. We brought in our 2025 Apple MacBook (only about 3 months old) to ask about repair options. Screen has a black vertical line The first employee we spoke with was very nice and told us they could send it out to Apple for repairs for around $500. He said he was about to go off shift but that someone else would be with us shortly to finish the paperwork. Instead, we waited about an hour before another employee finally came out. His attitude and information were completely different. He told us it wasn't worth repairing and immediately started trying to sell us a new laptop for around $1,200. When we explained that the previous employee had just told us repairs would be about $500, he suddenly left and came back saying they had "run the numbers" and now Apple would charge $650 or possibly more. The price and story kept changing, which made the whole situation feel very questionable. Another red flag was that they asked us to turn off the "Find My" feature before even moving forward with anything. At that point the entire interaction felt off, so we decided to take our laptop and leave. This is a three-month-old MacBook, and the way the situation went from a reasonable repair estimate to being pushed toward buying a new laptop felt very strange and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling like we were being steered toward a sale rather than given honest repair advice.

It took me 6 tries to ask different workers who were just walking around helping no one if they could help get a device and they all said they would call someone over, or to ask a different person, I just gave up and went to the target next door. I asked ONE guy for help, he walked me to the electronics and gave me 10/10 customer service. Don't waste your time at this store if you don't have to ‍
