Came here twice during my week of work in Penticton. From the outside, the restaurant looks shabby but I was tempted to give this place a chance based on yelp reviews and cravings for Japanese food. The first time I went, I ordered the bulgogi (Korean bbq'd beef on rice) which happened to be the current special. I was surprised more than anything to find that they would be serving such a Korean dish (I suspect the restaurant is run by Koreans). It came as a fairly large portion with marinated beef and shitake mushrooms on top of rice with some thinly cut lettuce on the side. It tasted pretty good. I also decided to order the super dynamite roll (tempura shrimp, tempura yam). This wasn't all that special. My bill came to $20 after everything. I was kind of irked that they charged me $0.75 for green tea but they give you a full pot so I guess it isn't total highway robbery. The second time I went was right before heading to the airport to return home. I ordered the pad thai with beef after seeing another table have it on my previous visit. Presentation-wise, it looks delicious: large bowl, nice portion of noodles, wedge of lime. Taste-wise, it was a little too saucy for my taste. It was good but this slight adjustment in the flavor would have made it so much better. I would recommend this place to others who are looking for a good Asian fix. They have sushi, fried rice and other choices that Asian people would actually eat (none of that Westernized crap). The service is good and for some reason the restaurant is divided into two very different looking rooms.

Nothing better than a Lee's fix when in Penticton. Great lunch and dinner service. I just love stopping in every time I am in town.

At the moment they are putting a new sidewalk out front of the restaurant so it's not presenting itself as it typically would. The awning also had taken a beating, and should be replaced. Once inside we were warmly greeted by the two young ladies working. We were seated quickly offered water and a beverage of our choice as soon as we sat. Menus were dropped along with the waiters. A taster of the wine was requested and happily supplied. The inside is clean, and although spartanly appointed, it's bright and airy and a good size for a smaller town. We ordered lemon chicken, beef with mixed vegetables and chicken chow mein. Far too much food for the two of us, but you have to have some variety don't you. The food came out quickly, piping hot and very generous in the portion side. Having worked in a Chinese place for a couple of years as a teenager I've eaten my fair share of the cuisine and this food was pretty darn good, and very good for a small town, which may have been mentioned in an earlier review. Don't listen to the one star, give it a go, you'll be glad you did. With so few choices in Grand Forks , the good places need to be supported, the restaurant biz is pretty tough these days. We'll certainly return!

And there was no mention of the hot spices. Also, the shrimp seemed overcooked. And the palace chicken was more like chewing on leather. Other than that, the combos were good. It's disappointing because it seems like they changed the menu since the last time we ordered there, which was a year ago.

I am a little taken back how negatively some people have reviewed here…read more I tried most of the buffet and found nothing that objectionable at all and I am really fussy if that helps. I came in at 5:30 and missed the 10% off special from 4-5:00. Yes the place is dated, yes, its not the healthiest food in town, but for a chinese buffet land locked in a cultural wasteland like penticton at the tip of a desert, hey its pretty good. Could they improve? Sure, maybe a little less dough on the chicken balls and shrimp, do away with the mashed potatoes, french fries and onion rings and grasp their own culture with pride and offer something else because these were the least acceptable items on the buffet in my opinion. I also agree with the one person that things could have some spice or flavour bumped up. But the one persons comment about being surprised no one has died here is totally unacceptable. They should try running a joint like this, in this day and age and then comment. I have had chinese from coast to literal coast and i can say this is no where even close to being bad enough to make a comment like that. I will admit I didnt go back for any 2nds, i did like the bbq pork, the goyza and the ribs, but 2nds, not really. So ill give the place 3 stars, id give them 2 but I think they deserve one for having served a few spoiled brats with kindness, like they did me. Will I come back? Maybe, but not for a year or two, I am not a big Chinese Buffet fan, just being honest, its not really their fault.

Since After searching on Yelp ... we came with anticipation and we were totally blown away with their various dishes!! The dining room is bright and has a youthful ambiance! I always have a soft spot for Ma Po Tofu ( a Szechuan Spicy Tofu dish ) and I am happy to report that it was super delicious ... too bad it was only two of us and we couldn't order too many other dishes! But I am glad I ordered my fav dish! The Spicy Wonton is also done just right, not too spicy and the filling still very juicy and the wonton wrappings were super smooth in texture! I also liked their version of Singapore Style Fried Rice Vermicelli .. not greasy at all and have the distinctive " Wok Hei"! Overall, this is a great addition to the local Asian food scene, run by very friendly family ... in times like these, its important to support small local business! Since its just across from the Kelowna Airport ... its super convenient to hop off the plane and order yourself authentic dim sum and enjoy some fruity green tea!!

Happy I called to verify whether dim sum was avail on a Sunday morning (website states 4-8:30). Quite happy they serve congee (chicken or pork w/ preserved egg), which satisfied my "Chinese craving". Dishes we ordered satisfied our dim sum craving...flavours were okay, but definitely the place to go in between visits to Richmond or Toronto. Service was good, considering they were busy, and it appeared the lady was running around with more haste and expertise than the young man. Having grown up in Toronto and had dim sum from San Francisco, Vancouver, and Hong Kong, this place may not be best in comparison but love that they are avail to satisfy that dim sum craving while in the Okanagan! This is a rating of 3.5.
