I had to switch to Dr. Carter (he's awesome!) but unfortunately it was too late because after 5 yrs in his appliances my teeth decayed under the bands. He pulled several healthy teeth and just....left it (I'm very serious here) I don't smile anymore after all this. I expect to soon get partials just so I can have some functionality to my bite. He pulled my lower front teeth so far forward that it actually killed the blood flow to the nerve in my teeth. I had one abscess into my jaw bone on Xmas eve! Had it removed because it's just not worth fighting to keep this horrible mess he's made. I will say that after I learned about all this....I found out I wasn't alone. One lady he for some reason "cut" every tooth he put brackets on. And like me he left them on so long they decayed and they found that all of her teeth had cracks. Several $$$$$ dollars and pain and anguish she endured and had them patched. Stay away from this guy. Doc Carter is great and he's not looking for "Perfect" teeth, he is making them nicer and without pulling vital teeth and his appliances is of the new age. I swear that Dr. Hines just loves torture devices. Nances in the roof of your mouth, screws in the gum attached to wires, crack devices to widen the mouth as well as surgery to break your jaw!

The staff took the time to answer all my questions and explain everything clearly. If a service was not available in their office, they provided referrals to help me continue my dental care without delay. I only wish Dr. Yung could provide all of my dental needs. I drove two and a half hours for this appointment, and it was absolutely worth every mile. The exceptional care, professionalism, and dedication of Dr. Yung and his team made the trip worthwhile. My first and only…read morevisit to this dentist consisted of a dental cleaning by the doctor that took less than 10 minutes. No cancer screening examination. Clinical hygiene issues that left me very concerned that I could get an infection from the visit. The dentist did not practice any form of hand hygiene. He simply changed his outer pair of latex gloves for new ones. He was wearing filthy surgical scrubs that he'd clearly been wearing all day long. Some of the dental instruments were severely scratched and worn. I did not ask about an autoclave or sterilization procedures, but I know from my experience working in a hospital that any instrument that scratched should be discarded immediately. You also have to change all of your PPE completely between patients after you wash your hands, even if wearing gloves. Safety concerns, quality of care and antiquated equipment all combine to eliminate this practice from future consideration for me.

For the most part, her pain was ignored while the obviously aggravated doctor continued the procedure. With a short break for her crying, the doctor finished her tooth then suggested she be referred to a pediatric doctor and that she may need sedation. Funny enough, she didn't need sedation for her first filling, yet the doctor seemed just as irritated then. Anyway, hours later, my daughters mouth and lip is now swollen! This doctor may work well with adults but not with young children!!! Sad because the rest of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. She answered all of my questions with patience and helped ease my nerves. Unfortunately, my experience changed dramatically once Dr. Patel came in. His approach was judgmental, dismissive, and unprofessional. I was made to feel inadequate simply because I did not know the difference between certain types of x-rays. I had already taken the time to confirm everything with my insurance company before this appointment, but even if there was miscommunication, there is no reason for a patient to be spoken to with such negativity. What was most telling is that another employee felt the need to apologize to me afterward. That alone speaks volumes. As a result, I canceled the appointments I had scheduled for my children later in the day because I would not subject them to that type of treatment. It is disheartening to have such an experience, especially after working up the courage to return to dental care following previous negative experiences. While the hygienist was excellent, I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice under Dr. Patel's care. I will be seeking a new dental office in the area.

The office confirmed they overcharged by more than $400 and said on 3 separate occasions they would refund but failed to do so each time. 3 strikes and you're out with me. If you're new with these guys and that voice in your mind starts saying "something's not right here" I suggest you listen to it.
