What an amazing shop!! I found these guys on Instagram and noticed Kristen Danae's portfolio was extremely amazing & she had the style that I was looking for. I went up to the shop as a walk in and showed her what I was looking to get. We made an appointment and she was so patient with what I was asking for. There was a $150 deposit for the appt and the deposit went towards the final cost of the tatt. She drew up exactly what I wanted!. am so thrilled about the work that she did for my left side of my back & arm. She's the best!!! I give her a lot of cred because the tattoo ending up taking a lot longer than we both expected. She handled it very professionally ... like a pro! Check her out. Seriously! I don't like giving bad reviews. So it takes a lot for me to write one. I got a tattoo from an artist at Legacy on Midway. A very simple script tattoo and a refresh of an already existing one. The artist just had to trace over the existing one and he botched it. The lines were sloppy and he left a color out entirely. I have pics. This tattoo means a lot and is clearly not right. After contacting him, I decided I did not trust or want him to fix it. He was a nice guy but it was hard communicating with him. So I wrote the owner. I shared the pics and asked for a partial refund. He did not respond so I wrote again. Still no response. The artist did not do a good job, but the owner showed a total lack of respect and professionalism by ignoring my requests. So that is why I cannot recommend Legacy Arts. I found a great tattoo artist for considerably less money and professionalism/quality one should expect and receive when getting a tattoo read more

Let me start with, my experience with Eric Cantu and Legacy was overwhelmingly positive and I am incredibly happy with the finished piece of art, but one factor made it miss 5 stars for me. I had been planning a cover up tattoo for quite a while, and just hadn't followed through, so upon moving to Dallas, I decided to search for an artist and get it done. My first tattoo, a small purple flower that turned into a black blob over the last 20 years, had no meaning for me and I wanted to cover it with a mermaid...I've always wanted to be a mermaid. My research led me to Legacy and Eric Cantu due to the raves about his use of color, and I loved that it is an all original art shop. I scheduled a consult with Eric, where I showed him pictures of things I liked and we discussed what was possible for the cover up, location, and my keeping it covered as needed. I was happy with this and booked the earliest appointment available, which was 2 months out, and put down $100 deposit. I emailed him the pics we had been looking at and he said he would send me some ideas before the appointment. Cue a week before the appointment and I had not heard anything. I emailed and called a couple times during the week, but still never heard back from Eric. I arrived for my appointment on time and Eric came to talk to me-it was clear he had forgotten the details of what we discussed (where it was and that it was a cover up), and this is where one star is lost for me. That said, he quickly came up with a design I loved and consulted with me on it and the colors. His preparation was thorough, and it is clear he is conscious of keeping things clean, etc. He worked quickly and expertly, and showed me the progress to discuss any changes or shading in color I might want. I waited until it was fully healed to write this, and I LOVE my tattoo. Also, you truly cannot tell it is a cover up. I have already recommended Eric to a friend and my husband is also considering one by him. I do wish there had been more communication leading up to the appointment, but I would not hesitate to recommend Eric and Legacy Arts to anyone. Tip: CASH ONLY, so plan accordingly to avoid fees (they do have an ATM). read more

Guys, I seriously love this place. I got a tattoo from Macy and I am in awe of how beautiful the detail and the shading is. Not only is the work amazing, but they aren't super expensive and the atmosphere and everyone who works there is so down to earth and polite. Everyone is so accommodating and funny and help each other. I'm terrible at getting tattoos but Macy worked with me and didn't complain when I had to take a break or made pain noises lol. My arm is so clean my friends thought my tattoo was fake. I waited nearly a month for my appointment because this is a custom shop, but the wait was absolutely worth it. This place is clean, quiet, and calm. No loud music or questionable people. Real artists working hard doing their thing. While getting my arm done, another artist next to Eric was painting. Such a soothing set up to be able to watch him work while getting my arm done. No bleeding, no raised lines, minimal pain, and I was in and out of the chair in less than two hours. This is a really good tattoo shop! I came in to get color on one tattoo and get a new tattoo as well. The artist I got was very nice and willing to work with my ideas. My tattoos turned out better than expected, and the pricing is very good as well. They also accept walkins if you are just getting a touch up or a small tattoo. The only complaints I have is that they only accept cash and the shop was extremely hot. read more

The entire staff is artistically gifted, friendly, personable, and just plain talented. Most recently, my bestie and I had matching tattoos crafted by Christine! 2 AWESOME experiences so far! Last week my wife had a water color tattoo done by Eric. The tattoo looks great and Eric was super friendly and professional. Great work. This week it was my turn. I spoke with Mike while my wife was in talking to Eric about her tattoo. Mike was very well spoken, professional, and courteous. We conversed a few times after the appointment was made up to the day of the work. I arrived a little early and Mike was busy drawing up what turned out to be an amazing lion and lamb together (see Revelation 5:5.) We got started and he was incredibly professional, and great at what he does. The finished product was much better than I imagined! The place is really clean and everyone there was super friendly. So I came here for my first tattoo looking for an artist that can do watercolor style. I actually saw one of Richard Garcia's watercolor tattoos on google images and figured he was my man. His artwork is amazing but he didn't have an opening til Feb so he recommended Ryan Kirkland. Ryan's work is also really good so I decided to set my appointment with him, and I do not regret that decision at all! He was so awesome/nice, very good at detail, and did a fantastic job on my tattoo while caring about my well-being (especially since I was pretty nervous being my first tattoo). Ryan's work is awesome (will post pic of tat), but not only that, the entire staff there were very outgoing and fun and we had a good laugh at the same time. These artists really listen to you and even though I was so nervous they made me feel extremely comfortable and at ease. Best customer service ever. Mind you it is pricier than other parlors and requires a deposit if you set an appointment, and be ready because it's cash only. Even then it was worth every penny!! Go here! Had my tattoo done. in January '15 by Will Klein. He was one hour late for our appointment, and left me waiting for 30 min. before he called to say he was on his way. 3 weeks after, I noticed part of it was blown out. Due to me having to leave town on a family emergency I wasn't able to get back to have the blowout fixed right away. I texted him today and asked about a time for me to come in and fix it, and his reply was, "Blowouts aren't really fixable and I don't do touchups 2 months after a tattoo." Very unprofessional. Granted I should have gone earlier, but I was not in town. I would definitely not recommend Will Klein, as blowouts are the fault of the artist, and he is unwilling to fix it unless I pay him. Legacy Arts has an awesome reputation, so I'm guessing it is just this one artist who is a problem. read more

My twin sister and I chose Legacy Arts because her husband used to play paintball with the owner, Richard. We wanted a very simple, yet sentimental tattoo in honor of our father, whom we lost 18 years ago, for our 40th birthday. We walked in, and Justin walked us through the process and made the procedure delightful. Anybody that has a tattoo of George Strait on his leg is okay in my book. I'm certainly not a tattoo parlor connoisseur, but the place was nice and seemed very clean. Our tattoo wasn't fancy, but I felt Justin did a great job. I was astonished to discover such poor customer service after reading all the reviews, particularly from the artist Moses. After a phone call and multiple emails, I still didn't receive a response to set up an appointment, and I was willing to drive over 50 miles. I was told he was booked until June, and yet he would not allow me to schedule an appointment for sometime in July. He had me take pictures of the tattoo I was wanting touched up and of the area I was wanting a new tattoo placed. I sent him everything he asked for, yet it's been three weeks, and still no response. Chris Clements is AWESOME! My first 2 tattoos were done, regrettably, elsewhere and after reading the reviews on Yelp I decided to give this place a go (mainly because they were so positive and it was really close to my work). I am SO glad I did...my experiences with Chris mean I will never go to another artist/place again...The last place I went to made me feel like an idiot for what I was asking and like I was bothering them asking them to do...ya' know...their job! When I walked into a packed Legacy Arts Tattoo for a quote, Chris eagerly greeted me with a smile and while I only had shoddy photos of the small tattoo I wanted on my wrist, he was able to come up with EXACTLY what I wanted and actually even better than what I had envisioned. That was December. Recently, my sister and I decided we wanted matching tattoos and so I immediately suggested Chris. The tricky part was that she was only in town for a week and he worked with us on our limited schedule and got us in last minute. She loved him as much as I did and agrees he's the only one to see in Dallas. He's a perfectionist (awesome!), courteous, patient with my odd requests (I'm a small tattoo kinda girl) and (bonus!) he's funny as hell. The staff are welcoming and have great attitudes....I can't say enough great things about this place and about Chris. Eventually I will be going to him for a coverup after I get the original lasered a few times per Chris' suggestion (I had the one that needs to be covered up done at said previous place) and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. He's truly a talented artist who takes pride in his craft and his willingness to work around your requests (picky as they might be) is out of this world. He was knowledgeable about what would look good in a small area and drew my idea off of some pictures and ideas I sent him through an email and talked with him about at the shop. He did an awesome job and he was really thorough about the after care. It's a great place! The shop was full of people getting tattoos on an afternoon- and everyone was happy and having a good time.
