While I would love to gatekeep Joe's skills because I don't want to have to fight for availability, I think having more people walk around on this Earth with his art is more important. This is the second tattoo that Joe has done on my arm. His professionalism, patience and attention to detail made this experience worth every penny I spent. I've gotten two piercings and a tattoo here and had great experiences. Both Barbie and Collin were great piercers that did exactly what I wanted (a few months apart). Collin even let me use my own jewelry since I had trouble getting flat back earrings out. Frankie did my tattoo and even did a few tiny updates for free when I came back a few weeks later because it healed a little funky! I've been coming to get tattooed by An Phu at S&S for the last three years. I'm from Chicago and a couple years ago I wanted to get a walk-in while in Dallas and a couple studios were booked for the day. I was told to check out Saints & Sinners and I've been flying back every couple months since. From walking in and saying what's up to Lane and James to wrapping up the tattoo, I always leave S&S happy thanks to An's incredible work. An has done my entire sleeve - wrist and climbing up to the shoulder now. Every design and idea I've ever shared with him, he's been able to go above and beyond on. I am always impressed with his work, but the last few sessions where we have been filling gaps he continues to leave my jaw hanging every time. I found my forever piercer. I came in to get my navel and nostril re-pierced. I had a lot of questions regarding my navel cause it previously rejected (impulsive idea I had in high school). Travis was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and overall - the dude is just nice. Learned that my body is just not built to hold a navel piercing and ended up only getting my nostril pierced, but I absolutely loooove. Atmosphere: A tiny bit cramped, but girl, it's a tattoo shop. Not a damn ballroom. Parking: I came on a Wednesday evening and found parking right in front of the parlor. Praise Jesus for this place. I had just moved here 3 days prior, and my new nose piercing fell out. I panicked because I know how quickly it can close (love that for my body and its healing abilities, hate that when its inconvenient for me). I called in a frenzy at 9pm, and they reassured me that I didn't need to panic and they'd help me out ASAP. All the staff was welcoming and as chill as you expect the artists to be. Had a great experience here with Jackie Dunn Smith. I have been looking for a number of years for someone that was willing to finish my upper arm. I had a concept in my head but could never find the right person to turn it into reality. I happened upon a former client of Jackie's and thats how I found the shop. I visited with Jackie in early December 13' to discuss my thoughts and she immediately started to draw up a design. I was traveling due to work and was not able to return until this past weekend (March 7-8th) to get the work accomplished. Jackie did an amazing job over a two day period to get my arm complete. She was able to take my random thoughts and turn them into what I wanted on paper, then she turned them into ink on my arm. This was a great experience with a shop full of very nice artists! They are all very laid back and great to talk with throughout my experience. I will be flying back to Dallas and this shop again to get more work done. read more

Late review. I got my first tattoo dome by EJ. Customer service , i suppose, is like any other tattoo shops. I wasn't expecting chilled champagne and foot runs anyways. My idea in hindsight may not have been the best as far as picture and location and for that i am to blame. But there was no input from the artist . While he did warn me that a tattoo on medial foot might fade over years i didn't think it will be in couple of months. My tattoo peeled for 2 months. Barely any aftercare instructions and i am not convinced about cleanliness of the shop. Will not return . read more

I have been to a few tattoo parlors and work with an artist in Austin to create really neat custom pieces that fit my very thin frame. Half of what I love about tattooing is that I'm not just a cold transactional exchange but a chance for a an artist to hear my ideas. I myself have no artistic training, but I celebration of almost 15 years of sobriety (from self harm), I wanted to celebrate by getting a cover up tattoo with my sister. It was Monday, so my usual place was closed and so I thought what the heck I want a small black and gray, maybe I'll meet a cool artist. I like walking in its an adventure. We entered, and it was totally empty. I asked the reception guy, "I know I'm a walk in, do you think you could see me today and talk about this tattoo I want?" and I showed them about 4 photos of my inspiration, noting different aspects of each photo that wasn't quite right ("I like the placement, but there are too many blooms." that sort of thing). I expressed a few general concerns - that the image would muddy if it shrunk down and not identifiable from a distance. Sometimes I think those shoulder pieces with lots of flowers can look almost like spots, so I want to make sure this fits me. I showed him a variety of inspirations, noting the leaves, flowers, and style I liked from each. Normally I would be really open to the artist picking the location, but this time it had to cover my raised wrist scars. He never acknowledge my achievements or bravery. Meanwhile, the two employees took at least forty minutes to render an example. Based on previous tattoos, I figured the artist was combining my inspiration with his unique tattooing style. I figured if the design became too fine line, he might be able to recommend me to another artist that would do a nice job in that style. Throughout this time, he and his colleague walked around and chatted, at no point asking crucial questions like "what type of flowers is most important?" and "do you want a dark outline" things like that. After forty minutes, he had printed a shrunk down carbon copy of one of the photos I showed him. I could have cropped it on my iphone and printed it. I asked that he use scissors to trim the edges so I could see if placed on my arm. I asked him his opinion on placement, and what orientation the stencil should lie. He seemed indifferent. I voiced concern about it being too big and he didn't even offer to adjust the size or remove some of the design to enlarge other parts. He didnt even offer to transfer it to my skin to see how it looked. By this point I knew I wasn't going to get tattooed. Looking around, there were no examples of this style of tattoo, and he made no effort to show me his portfolio or discuss whether he could even do such a fine line tattoo. He didn't offer an alternative design that played to his strengths. Instead, he left my sister and i with the paper cut out to "play around with" while he again stepped out with his colleague. In their absence I told my sister that I didn't want a tattoo today. I have serious social anxiety and get scared of being trapped. When the artist returned I asked if I could think about it, thanking him for his time. I folded up the little paper to take with and play with, still (as always) wanting to buy a tattoo. My sister, sensing the tension, asking something like, "can we compensate you for your time? we really appreciate it!" to which he replied "this is uh weird i didn't expect this. i expected to be tatooing this afternoon." and shot me a look as if I had led him on/should strip down, sign the waver, and get a permanent piece of body art to placate him. After all, I said I was open to the $150 fee, clarifying "if the design works for me." I asked for a forearm floral piece, with organic flow (to match the shape of my arm) that covers my self injury scars. Black and white. Open to almost any style, flower, etc. This should be a BREEZE at any tattoo parlor. Feeling really uncomfortable, I apologize to the artist and asked if we could "make it right". He said "yeah, by booking an actual consultation so I can give you this tattoo". Again, he's asking me to ink by body to placate him. I politely said I'd make an appointment, and he said "keep that paper, it's not our design anyway" (a clear dig that the drawing came from a coloring book I like...again, INSPIRATION!). If a client is showing uncertainty, a good artist will ENCOURAGE them to take some time to think, resign, and come back (if they want). Not all consultations lead to a sale. But also my body is not something to be used as a bargaining chip. I get that you had a bad day, I get that teenagers waste your time. But I am a tatted 30-year-old teacher who had every intention of getting tattooed today. Unfortunately, I didn't, and I will likely wait an indefinite period of time before trying in a new shop. read more

I purposely got a bad tattoo here. I know that sounds odd, doesn't it? You want to know the measure of a good tattoo artist? When he has to be convinced to f*#% up a tattoo. When it takes him a long time to convince his own hand to misspell something. When he wants to get it perfect, and you have to retrain him to mess up. Even then, almost every artist there stopped by to watch, laugh, and politely quip about it. This is literally one of the best studios I've had the pleasure of spending time in. Even the shop help was nice enough and offered to get us something from the corner store. By the way, after thoroughly messing up my ink, as I asked. I got a forward helix done about 5 months ago and have had no issues. They only do cash so if you plan to do a walk-in be sure to stop by the bank. Luckily my piercer was able to do a venmo from me when the ATM down the street was down (T-Mobile SUCKS in the area so beware of that lol I had to ask for wifi to get my dumb phone to give a damn). I've walked by Saint's and Sinners many times and always thought it looked like a good tattoo shop, but rather cramped. Two days ago I made my first trip in. My artist of choice is Joe Radnik, he has done 8 or 9 pieces for me in the past and after a bit of a walk about he has found his new home at Saints and Sinners. To my surprise the front door was locked when I showed for my appointment, and Joe was tattooing at the door. This is due to the fact that S&S has taken in the space next door and combined the two spaces. The studio is anything but cramped as I originally thought. I was told that the artists all chipped in on the expansion work and feel real connected to the space due to this. One whole side holds a waiting area where you are immediately greeted by the shop assistant, whom took my info and brought out the designs Joe drew for me to see what I thought. There is an easily accessible restroom on the waiting side so you don't have to ask permission for every pass. A very comfortable waiting experience on my way to needles. Joe had drawn a few options for me to decide on, and I loved one but not another. This of course was no problem, Joe reworked it to my satisfaction. He does great work and I'm glad he's back stateside. Multiple artists came over to see Joe work and seemed genuinely interested in what he was doing and asked about the work I have had done in the past. Everyone I met was friendly and the experience was very good. read more
