Legacy Dance Center - Recital 2017 - Dance Studios Near Me - Frisco, Texas

Teachers are good and nice, the building is new. But the owners are like monsters. I remember reading somewhere on Google review about this center that a lady complained about her daughter being treated like second citizen. Yes! That's what I feel here too. And the owner is all about money, not about services or the dancers. They also don't have a good plan towards rehearsals and recitals. Most of the teachers are simply wonderful with the kids. We recently had a bad apple that completely ruined our experience. When you provide feedback to mgmt. you are blown off with excuses if you even get a prompt response. It is very apparent that mgmt. backs their staff 1000% of the time and as a customer good luck trying to address any issues... like not being told of substitute teachers (right before rehearsal) for numerous weeks. There are plenty of other dance studios in Dallas and Legacy needs to outsource management if they even care about repeat business. BTW the straw that broke the camels back is when you call local places who sell dance supplies and you ask them to name their top 5 dance studios... Legacy wasn't even mentioned. read more

My three year old has been taking tap/ballet here for six months. We love it! The teacher, Miss Taylor, is really excellent. All the instructors seem to care about the kids. The owners are really great and the staff makes everyone feel welcomed. I wish the waiting area for parents was a little bigger, but other than that this place rocks! read more

I'm only giving one star because I have to. This place really sucks. I had my 4 year old enrolled for 6 months and it was a nightmare. They kept switching teachers even right before recitals. They never learned a routine. At one point I went to her regular class and they said the class didn't exist anymore!! I'd been going to same class for months at this point. What do you mean it doesn't exist?? They didn't have enough students so the class was dropped. On top of all that... They charged me for the recital when as I said above they didn't even know the routine. I'm not going to embarrass my child like that! As a dancer myself for over 15 years... Legacy Dance Center is a WONDERFUL school of dance. My daughter has been dancing for over ten years and I can honestly say, this studio is giving her a well rounded dance education. Ballet is very important to my daughter, as it is the foundation of all dance. The ballet program at Legacy is very strong. The dance school is also very strong in the other styles of dance, which has been so helpful to my daughter. The studio is encouraging, while also pushing her to be the best that she can be. As a parent, I appreciate the high standards and expectations that they have for their dancers. The owners are very nice and wonderful people. All of the teachers are very highly skilled, but they are also wonderful teachers. I highly recommend this dance studio for the serious dancer at heart!! read more

My daughter has been going to Legacy Dance Center and I had to take her out due to personal reasons. I went up there on November 4, 2015 and I asked that she be taken out of the dance and was informed by the receptionist at the front that I needed to request it by email and a 30 day notice should be given. I went home and I sent the email that said night. Legacy never responded to my email until February of 2016 when I noticed that my credit card was still been billed and then the credit card had contacted them, then at that point they decided to reach out to me claiming they haven't heard from my daughter and also that the name they see in the system does not match up. It took them 3 months to contact me in regard to my cancellation letter. They emailed me twice in one day and called the next day. Legacy Dance sent details about my contract with them but not a copy of the cancellation request from me. My computer got messed up and I lost all my emails including all correspondence with LDC so I had called and spoke to Hope who said she would forward me a copy of the cancellation email which she never did. I went up there today March 28, 2016 and spoke to a colored hair girl at the front and ask if I could get a copy of the cancellation email that I sent and she said that she doesn't see it. I asked her if they don't keep records of customer cancellation and she said yes but would need permission from the owner who was at work and cant be disturbed. She said he come by in the evening and I said I would come by. I went by there in the evening to see if the permission was given for me to get a copy of the cancellation and the girl at the front said they had emailed me and I didn't respond to them and she was not going to show me any proof of them responding to me prior February. She then claims that I needed to leave the property because I am trespassing on private property and she was going to call the cops because I am raising my voice at her. I told her to go ahead and sat and waited for the cops to come. I waited until the cops arrived and spoke to us both. The owner came and he didn't even come over to say anything to me. My daughter has been going to this studio before they moved to the new location and her younger sibling even went to summer camp there. I am very disappointed in the way they treat me as a parent and the fact that they refuse to give me a copy of the cancellation request that I sent to them. All they care about is the money and if I didn't discovered that I was still been billed after sending in my cancellation, they would still be billing me as well as they would never care to reach out to me if my credit card didn't reach out to them in regards to my dispute. They customer service is the worse................... The owners does not care about any concerns of the parents. read more

A serious school where children can grow into artists. Children have come to Legacy Dance as small children and fallen in love with dance. The teachers, office staff and studio owners/directors are very good people with the students' best interests in all decisions. read more

Great instructors. However, when you bring up concerns about safety of the dancers and supervision concerns about a large class with 5-7 year olds; they kick your daughter out and she is no longer welcome. Receptionist (owner's mom) threatened to call the police on a mother who also had concerns, got in her face in front of her son and made him cry. My follow up email to the owner asking if she was no longer welcome went unanswered. Posted a review to their Facebook page and they immediately turned off review privileges for visitors. The instructors that my daughter had were nice but the front office staff was beyond rude and they seriously mishandled my account. DO NOT give them your credit card. We were overcharged every month for over a year. When we brought it to the admins attention we were treated horribly and were basically told to GTFO. So we did. At Next Step now and it's such a huge difference. The owner Michelle is fantastic and is so customer service oriented. read more

I'm sorry to say that this place highly disappointed me. My 4.5 year old daughter takes instruction from Legacy Dance Center at her private school and we honestly felt like second class citizens even though we were paying a pretty penny. The studio families had all of their information way ahead of us, we were given 2-3 days notice on most items i.e. putting notes to our children in the recital book and ordering flowers. Their lack of communication is ridiculous, and their God like attitude is even worse. You couldn't ask her teacher anything, you couldn't get information from the owners even after several attempts made via e-mail, phone and even showing up at the dance studio. The owner was actually mad that we had asked our teacher what the costumes looked like for the recital, and I quote "don't ask our instructors stupid questions" yeah last time I checked there were no stupid questions and I should be allowed to have contact with her teacher at any time. The teacher showed up every week LATE, which meant that her class was cut short every week and no adjustment was made to our fees we were paying. It was VERY clear at the recital that there was a bit of favoritism over the students that went to the studio vs the children that took instruction at their schools. All the dancers have individual pictures taken and our children had only their group photos, that was very disappointing to me as I was so excited to order pictures and hand them out to family. The owner actually excluded a little girl from the performance because they didn't like the fact that parents were asking questions. The parents paid for the child's costume and recital fees (which are non refundable) and they blatantly removed her from the performance without offering a refund. This little girl had been working hard and looking forward to her performance and was refused by the owners to participate! I wouldn't let my dog take instruction from this facility and be forewarned to NEVER ask questions if you do!!!!! read more
