My daughter came in experiencing severe anxiety thinking she was having heart problems and as she was getting tests done, the lady from the front desk was shoving papers in my daughters face trying to get insurance information from her as she was laying there crying and shaking uncontrollably. The doctor, DR. Laura Pumarejo, was very rude and VERY non sympathetic, pretty much rushing my daughter out of there with no answers. The doctor asked her if she had someone to drive her home if they were to give her meds and my daughter said, "I'm not sure, I don't know" and the doctor snapped back saying, "is it a yes or no?" My daughter just moved there and had no family to get her, they didn't even give her a chance to call anyone. Horrible bedside manner towards a very young, alone and scared girl. read more

I went to Legacy Clinic in Allen on the Saturday before Memorial Day. I had been sick since Thursday, and my doctor's office was closed. I was diagnosed with COVID. I got right in and everyone there was very nice. My problem is being prescribed Paxlovid, which cost me $800. i had to go to a 2nd Urgent care several days after taking it because I kept getting worse. That clinic had a sign displayed about reimbursement for Paxlovid. They told me that most places do not even prescribe it due to the cost. They prescribe to treat the symptoms. I am very angry at the doctor prescribing it without talking about the cost or alternative treatment. I was not that sick when I went in but really was worse after taking it several days. It was negligent not to discuss alternatives with me or to say the price was really high. read more

Safa Memon ran the clock on my husband who I dropped off at the front door while I parked the car in the pouring rain on the evening of July 12th 2025. By the time I walked in with the insurance card, which was at exactly 9:00pm, she told us that at 9 their billing switches to ER fees (and for us that would take our visit from a $75 copay to a $350 copay). No compassion at all from her, and she was absolutely smirking at us while we tried to plead our case that he was already in the building before 9pm but she wouldn't do anything about it. If you're going to have to pay an ER copay for this place, then you might as well go to a real hospital. read more

We go here because this is next to where we live but if you have a choice stay away from this place. No matter when you go to charge the insurance the wait time will be longest. The name states urgent care they have no care neither sense of urgency. The doctors will charge you fully but won't answer your questions .. also they misdiagnosed my son once with ear infection took him after a day to ent and voila the antibiotics were not supposed to be given. My son fell and hit his nose. Doctor thought everything was fine but couldn't confirm if there was any other damage internally. We electively got a head CT scan for piece of mind. The doctor was in there for roughly 10 mins while my son slept. Months later get a big bill. Since we got a CT scan they changed it as an ER visit and billed out $4000 for an ER office visit. They make you sign these ER consents which allows them to bill out astronomical amounts to your insurance with these ER codes. Absolutely crazy that they don't tell you by electively getting a CT scan they then can charge out $4000 for an office visit. They should be disclosing that information and know how much they are charging the patient before you do it, not months later. read more

04/9/20 It's important to support local businesses during this COVID19 crisis and spread the word about those that are going the extra mile. Legacy ER & Urgent Care was there for me during an uncertain moment. I've been sick for nearly 3 weeks at this point. First, I visited my PCP and tested positive for Strep, twice, back to back. I still wasn't well. My PCP suggested I see a specialist. Next, I visited my ENT. He reviewed my labs and symptoms before entering the room. He immediately said he wasn't going to examine me, he believed I have COVID19, I should get tested asap, he gave me a prescription recommendation and said he wasn't charging me for the office visit. Nothing is published about COVID19 testing to the general public in our area. A friend of mine recommend Legacy ER& Urgent Care. We called, inquired about the COVID19 test, they invited us to stop by and be evaluated. When we arrived they had a system in place regarding the pandemic. First you pulled up, they asked about your symptoms and you filled out paperwork. Then we were told to drive around the corner and stay in the car. A nurse came out, asked a lot of questions, went back inside to review my case with the doctor. The nurse came back with an iPad so I could speak to the doctor. They decided I was a candidate to take the COVID19 test. Then told me it could take a week to get my test results. No fault of theres. Now I wait. The process was unconventional but nonetheless they did an excellent job considering the current circumstances. I felt like they did a great job evaluating me. read more

Several bills have arrived from Allen FD (ambulance) and the hospital. Legacy has refused to assist in payment. The bottom line is that it has caused me substantial hardship. I would recommend that for any care beyond a minor issue like a nosebleed or paper cut, you seek alternative care options, such as a hospital. Legacy seems to prioritize redirecting patients to the emergency room, even when they might not be equipped to address genuine emergency needs. If they decide it's necessary to transport you to the hospital, you will receive a bill from Legacy for their services, in addition to bills from the hospital. It's in your best interest to explore alternative care facilities or, at the very least, visit an urgent care facility that won't categorize you as an emergency room patient read more

Each visit we've been met with friendly service, quick attention and honest diagnosis. I've been to Urgent Cares who throw a prescription at anything and Legacy Urgent Care is anything but. Best Urgent care facility I have been to. I appreciated everyone's patience and help when I came in with strep. I was seen at another urgent care (won't name) and was not treated properly. Let me first say that the staff was friendly on the night of my husband's visit for severe headache on 1/2/25. We came in shortly before 8:30pm and they took him back within a few minutes. We came in under urgent care hours, but he was asked to sign an emergency treatment consent (while he was battling headache and nausea) at 8:34pm. This was before his vitals were recorded or being seen by a doctor. In fact, the triage notes listed him as Acuity Level 5 , which is least urgent. However, when all was said and done, he was treated under Level 5 ER (which is most serious...but under critical). I have tried to get explanations on timing of events and necessity for tests run via phone and email to no avail. The billing company is who they refer me to each time and they have been no help with this information. Transparency is definitely lacking. I would definitely think twice before using Legacy and take a family member back with you to ensure things are not snuck by the patient. read more

Just recieved a texted bill from December 2021! We've been at the same address with the same phone numbers and havent received any notifications as far as I know. Call them, wait on hold for ~15 minutes, they tell me they sent me something a month or two after the visit. I cannot confirm or deny that because IT'S BEEN ALMOST THREE YEARS SINCE THE VISIT. We've lived at the same address and had the same phone numbers for 10 years (i mean they certainly knew where to text it almost three years later. I went there recently and was treated. The staff members are very nice and seemed to do the medical job fine at the time. However, when I got home and went through the ton of discharge papers I saw they had given me another patient's discharge papers and personal information. They also gave me duplicate pages and papers on meds that had nothing to do with my condition. This is a serious HIPAA violation. I called them immediately, and they admitted to this mistake. Plus, I have the paperwork right in front of me to prove it. I've called them numerous times since to resolve this. The office manager, Susie, has repeatedly stalled, never called me back as promised, and now apparently refuses to take or return my calls. If they are giving out personal identity info to other patients, and admit they did that but refuse to take accountability, or try to resolve this problem whatsoever, then in my opinion they have lost all their credibility. Who knows what else they do or do not do wrong when treating patients medically that we don't know about? I prefer medical offices that are not incompetent and unaccountable in which to trust my life and health. read more

We arrived for shortness of breath and I told the front desk clerk that my son couldn't breathe, yet they waited about 15 minutes before they took us in. Once they took us in they checked my sons vitals. His O2 was low and heart rate and breathing rate was high. They put us in a room and told us that we will get a breathing treatment. We waited for close to 55 minutes total before he got a breathing treatment; all the time he was coughing continuously with chest caving in and clearly short of breath. We took my two year old daughter here to check to see if her wrist was sprained. She hasn't had an x-ray before and generally is healthy so a visit like this was a new and scary experience. Needless to say she did not take it very well and was terrified so she cried pretty intensely. When my husband went back with her to take the x-ray, I stayed behind in the room with the door open and I overheard the staff badmouthing my child, talking about how bad kids these days are etc. I was appalled at their lack of empathy and compassion for a scared two year old child. The x-ray techs were nice and worked with her to help her through this scary situation, and the doctor was patient with her too, however the staff was completely rude and unprofessional. We also spent an entire hour waiting for the doctor to read the x-ray. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came on a Sunday at 7:30am after looking up what was in network with my insurance. The building is beautiful, practically all glass (in the waiting area), and their waiting room is clean and includes a keurig machine! :) No one else was in, so my wait was as long as it took me to fill out my paperwork, which was fabulously short. I had two gentlemen to take my vitals, ask whatever Qs. I asked for names, but in true Liane fashion, I forgot them. :( Sorry! But they were awesome and hilarious. One ran through all your typical questions: what happened, allergies etc. The other eventually took me through to get some X-rays of my poor finger. Dr. Thornton saw me and confirmed that I had a fracture in my left pinky (bye bye to all my offensive plays in flag football... :'(). 10/10 would come back here! :) read more

My husband went in for pain and shortness of breath. They said kidney infection and sent him home with antibiotics. We came back eight hours later worse than before. Turns out they sent him home and thankfully he didn't die. He was in afib, congestive heart failure, throwing blood clots to his kidneys, 1.5 liters of fluid on lungs, two clogs in his widow maker artery and a massive blood clot in his heart ready to kill him. Malpractice at best. The 2nd doctor told us we didn't tell him he was in afib and he might not have been. Nor true the blood clot was so big most doctors never saw one that big. Family member recommended this place for covid results, 10 min experience. My child and I wound up waiting 1.5 hours for covid and strep results. With aches and pains, chills and fever we were not even offered a pillow and blanket. my child was absolutely miserable. then our wait for the results was extended by another 20 min, since there was some kind of emergency taking priority over us. then the dr walks in, asks me about fever (they took all the vitals when we came in), inaccuracy over strep test and recommendation to take penicillin when i indicated everywhere my child has allergy to penicillin. care, attention and time urgency is not a priority here. we are very disappointed. read more

I just left Legacy ER , this place is a joke! Upon arrival with fever, chills, body aches and sore throat. the triage, I get that you have days where you oversleep and don't wash your hair. The staff looked sloppy and unhygienic, I am not even certain there were scrubs under the oversized sweatshirt. The triage asked for weight told her it was okay that my daughter was unsure of her weight, did not weigh her. I am not a physician but isn't that important for medication dosages? She then proceeds to ask her if she wants to be tested for the flu, strep or covid? Isn't that for the physician to determine not the patient? I have three children and have been to more e.r/urgent care visits than I can count, never have I been to one until tonight where music is blaring. I had to ask them to turn the music down because my daughters head was throbbing, they then turned the music off in the room we were waiting in, not lowered the volume nor turn it off throughout the rest of the office. They proceeded to lower the ac, I assume to muffle the sound of the club music they had playing in an already freezing office with a patient complaining of chills. I ask for a blanket, they did give us a warm blanket. After a few minutes I look down at the blanket that has two different hair strands neither belonging to either of us as well as dirt. I ask for a clean one Cara proceeds to tell me they would never give a patient a dirty blanket. I then asked to be put in a clean room, the one we had been put in was filthy, walls are floors , stools , tables and doors were filthy. They offer to move me to one that is clean. After waiting for an hour and a half we asked for a refund due to still not being seen. a Dr Nelson, Cara and a couple of other staff members were standing around talking, never coming to check on us nor apologizing for the filth and lack of attending to their patients. The worst feeling is to get off a plane for a weekend get-away only to feel sick. Not the way I wanted to start a special weekend. Since I was under the weather my best friend referred me to Legacy ER & Urgent Care. As a first time patient I am highly impressed. I did not realize I could check in online, however it seemed by the time I was done with my paperwork they already had me in the triage room. The check-in and triage staff was super friendly. The wait time for my doctor was faster than I had expected. I felt that I was seen right away and treated immediately. Once I was done the check out process was just as smooth. The facility is super clean. The staff is very friendly and the experience is like no other medical service. What is nice is CVS Pharmacy is next door and Walgreen's is less than 3 miles away. If I lived in Texas this would be my go to medical center. I do know that when traveling to Texas I am in good hands with Legacy. As sick as I was their whole process made me feel much better. read more

If I were you, I would avoid seeking service from this location. I spoke with two different physicians both trying to tell me that they could not substitute a medication that I was initially given and was not working for me. The doctor even said it may or may not work, so let's see first then we can try something else. This was on Tuesday morning. Late Tuesday Night at 12:05am and Early this Wednesday morning at 8:45am, I was advised by the two different physicians a woman by the name of Leslie and amale physician by the name of Paul, to spend extra $$ on OTC medication (which I ended up doing because I had no choice) just for me to get a call from Dr. Thornton later today saying that he's going to give me a substitute for the medicine but in no way what so ever was apologetic at all or willing to listen to the issues I had with his employees. When I mentioned to him that I still have yet to receive any type of proper of formal apology, he still had nothing to say to me but "If you want the perception you can get it, if not that is up to you. He truly showed me that he could care less about my treatment or how the physicians under him handle patients I advise anyone and everyone to go to people that actually care about their job and patients they service. Cannot recommend Legacy ER enough. The staff there was wonderful, the doctor I saw was patient, listened to me and treated me with respect. I had heard great things about this place from friends who had gone there, and when I had a minor emergency I'm glad that I picked this place. One of my medications he put me on just didn't seem to be cutting it, so I was actually nervous calling in 4 days after my visit thinking I'd never get a hold of that doctor. Well, surprisingly a nurse answered the phone (didn't have to leave a voicemail like you do pretty much everywhere), the doctor was actually working that day and called me in a new prescription right away. Best case scenario. They got me in and out, no waiting time at all. I was actually nervous I'd have to wait like you would at a regular hospital, but literally 20 minutes I was in and out. The place is clean and bright. I had a little bit of concern when my bill came in. As a side note, they make you fully aware when you check in (if it's 9pm or later) that they are considered an ER (or if you are having a heart attack, etc.) . They fully explained my bill to me (Sheree(sorry if I spelled it wrong) with their billing company was SO nice and helpful. Sandy from Legacy ER called me directly and explained everything even more. She helped me understand my itemized bill, the charges, as well as answered all of my questions. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and 100% recommend this facility to anyone and everyone! I understand they're busy with Covid tests. My issue is this, why make an appointment if you have to wait 45 minutes past the time of the appt which is almost the same time for a walk-in. Makes absolutely no sense. You should have priority over walk-ins. Lack of planning and should have a better system like a text when they're ready for you versus sitting with 20 people in a lobby area. Good evening, I pray all is well. I was a first time patient at the clinic on Exchange Pkwy in Allen, TX today. I have been a patient of Care Now for nearly 20 years and would not have attempted to go anywhere else if my insurance plan had not changed. I had to be seen today for a bronchitis issue. I chose this clinic because my office is less than 2 miles away. I was very pleasantly surprised at the care I received after being a relentless Care Now fan for 20 years! I must tell you, the receptionist and check out clerks were nice and patient, the nurses (Emily and a nice male gentleman with a beard - cool dude), and the radiology tech (very kind young lady who smiled the entire time I was with her - I asked her name, but cannot remember - Maybe Anna or Ericka? - She was there at 12pm during my visit and i apologize for not remembering her name - she was amazing). Susan, the NP, really caught my attention. I have been in healthcare for over 32 years. I have worked as a critical care RN, a manager of critical care units, a house supervisor, a professor of health care grad degrees, a healthcare administrator and am now a Leadership Development Strategist and Executive Coach to healthcare executives. I am also elected Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives. I have been in and around healthcare professionals most of my life. have only a handful of instances where the care given was memorable as my vist was today! I had to pull Susan on the side to tell her that her bedside manner was immaculate! She told me she was new to the NP role. I was floored. Her confidence and her ease of knowledge relayed spoke of someone with decades of experience in the business. She was stellar! I told her that I pray she never loses that beautiful attitude and the want to listen intently to her patients. That is uncommon today; therefore, her passion for what she and her teammates did today was palpable. This facility was very nice, clean and it felt modern. My boyfriend was breaking out into hives, after the other urgent care centers had closed, so we went here. We were seen immediately, there was no one else in the waiting room. My concern is that the doctor gave him some medicine and explained that it would work by getting his allergies suppressed, when in fact, it would have suppressed his immune system (I always research medicine before and after doctors visits as I've been hospitalized by hastily written prescriptions). I felt pretty uncomfortable with that as it's a pretty big difference. There were a few key things that I think they needed to have explained to him about his options that they didn't. That is a huge concern for me. My suggestion, regardless of where you go, is to research potential side effects and things to know before EVER taking medication. *steps off soap box* Anyway, everyone was very polite and kind and the facility was very nice. The staff that I encountered were mostly men, making it even more embarrassing with my case, but I was greeted and treated with such care and concern!
