Later, he sold it to a Doctor Friend who resided there when she would serve as a civil war hospital. Sold again, yet to another doctor, Dr. Thomas Cheatham, the house grew again to form a “T” shaped structure. After his death, the home would fall into severe disrepair only to be restored in the 1930s and named Wrexham. The Hague family lived there and maintained what became a “mansion” in the 1960s when it was added to once again. The new addition begged for an upgraded name, which is the now, Wrexham Hall. Sold to Judge Gates in the 1970s, he would sell it and have it moved to its current location. The last addition was made by the Brennan family, an event room that would serve many for years to come. The venue itself is stunning with beautiful outdoor spaces, patios, and indoor areas as well as two spacious suites to get ready in. The venue itself offers a lot of flexibility in areas to have your ceremony! We chose to be outside for the ceremony, on the patio for our cocktail hour and send-off, and indoors for eating and dancing! We loved getting to use every part of this beautiful venue! From the moment we booked, Tracy (our wedding coordinator) went above and beyond for us! She offered thoughtful advice, helpful recommendations, and always responded quickly, no matter how small the question. She met with us multiple times throughout the planning process and really took the time to get to know us as a couple and to understand our vision for our day. On the wedding day, Tracy was incredible! She coordinated every moving part seamlessly, kept us calm, and made sure the entire day flowed perfectly. By the end of the night she became like family and was passing out cake, making sure guests had everything they needed, and even made an appearance on the dance floor with us! We could not have done any of this without her! After the wedding, everything was already packed and organized for us to pick up the next day! We chose to upgrade a few items in the package and were not disappointed! The photobooth was absolutely amazing and highly recommended with a backdrop and props for us and guests to enjoy! We even got a flashdrive with all of the pictures taken throughout the night! If you're looking for the Marriott expectations, this is not the hotel for you! I booked this…read morehotel off of the reviews on the Marriott site and my prior experience with Marriott... that was my first mistake! When we got there and was unpacking the car, there was a used, dirty condom in the parking lot. I should have turned around there! We went into the room, and I noticed an odor that I can only described as someone had lived in and didn't believe in cleaning. The room itself was a little dark, but it was the ground floor towards the back. I again, went off the name and hurried up and unpacked, then ran out to get dinner, ignoring the signs. Once we returned, I was able to inspect the room a little farther. By this time my family was fast asleep. As I took the flashlight to the corners I started to notice the amount of dust, dirt, and filth! It was all along the floors. It looked like a vacuum never hit the edges! There was also mold stains on the tile flooring and bathroom ceiling. Crude all around the outlets. Rust on the venting. Dust in the filters of the heating system. I went to sleep. (I had previously checked for bed bugs and didn't see anything- the most positive thing I can say about the room!) I was awoken three hours later by some noise in the hotel and then couldn't fall back to sleep because of other people being loud. My allergies were bothering me. My nose was stuffy and throat was sore, from the filth in this room. I started looking for another hotel. At this point, I was ready to leave and check in somewhere else! A short time later, my husband woke up and I explained to him I was finding another hotel! He went to breakfast, while I looked for a hotel. He has a service dog, and he obviously took him with him. While in the buffet line, an employee told him that his service dog, that had his vest and identification on, could not be in line with him. He didn't want the confrontation, so he passed him off to a family member while he got his food. After returning to the room, he tells me what happened. Not only was this a hotel policy violation, but it was also a federal violation as well. I was heading down to ask the manager to come to the room, to show them what the condition was and check out. When doing so, the manager states that they we just looking the rules up on service dogs. This is highly disturbing that the employees do not receive disability training when being hired, let alone the General Manager not knowing the policy on such! I have since attempted to email the concerns to corporate, and I received the AI generated response. I even offered to send them pictures of the room! I will follow through with an ADA compliant with the proper authoritie
