I am vegan and hadn't heard anything about what they were serving. They have an open kitchen, which I love, so I walked right over and asked. They were very friendly and accommodating! They told me they would make something for me, and when it came time to plate up, they would have it waiting. WOW! It was delicious! I am a new mom and don't get out much. That was the best meal I have had in a long time!!!! I still think about it. I'm sad it's not your typical restaurant where I could order it again. My husband and I knew we had to get married here the first time we laid eyes on it. This is a former horse ranch that has been beautifully renovated and landscaped by Georgia and Stephen Barron (the owners of the venue which is also their home). Georgia was a former wedding planner and knows all things wedding-related. She is extremely organized, meticulous, and helpful in making sure that your wedding here is planned to perfection. She made everything so easy and stress-free for us as we got to plan off of a preferred vendors list to choose everything from the florist, DJ, officiant, etc. Don't fret though, these "preferred" vendors offer great discounts because they've worked with Newcastle Wedding Gardens before, which makes things very reassuring. About the ceremony and receptions sites--the ceremony is usually held in the garden area that is completely shaded with a beautiful arbor/trellis structure that serves as the altar. The reception is held in the magnificent red horse barn with AC, a bar, glossy floors and a lovely rustic feel. The barn doors also open in the evening so your reception is sort of outside and inside simultaneously. The venue provides tables, table cloths, china, chiavari chairs, etc. so you pretty much don't have to rent any extra equipment unless you want specific items like turquoise table linens which you can rent from the venue for an extra fee. They also will set up and take down everything for you. Oh and they have a photobooth (extra, but reasonable rental fee for 2-3hrs)! I can go on and on. This wedding venue is truly a gem! If you are looking for a wedding venue for both your ceremony and reception, look no further than Newcastle Wedding Gardens! They offer tours by appointment--just contact Georgia. The venue itself is beautiful and serves as a blank canvas that allows you to decorate and design it however you'd like. I really love the modern aesthetic. From the outside, you'd never guess how stunning it is inside. It looks more like an office parking area at first glance, but there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus, and the location right off the freeway is super convenient. Once you're inside, it's absolutely gorgeous. There's even a separate cocktail hour room, which is such a cool feature. It can get a little warm at times, but the design more than makes up for it. There are leather chairs, black and brick backdrops, and beautiful garage-style doors that add a lot of character. The exposed brick walls give it that warm, modern industrial vibe that looks great in photos. The bathrooms are also very clean, which is something guests and vendors both appreciate. Overall, The BLOC is a hidden gem of a venue. I'd be excited to attend another event there as a guest or work one again as a vendor.

This is probably my favorite dance venue out of the dozen or so places I've experienced in the Sacramento area. The cute retro kitchen has a few sinks with faucets upgraded within the last year, I believe. I think there may be pull down sprayers. Not much counter space. The ice cream bars someone brought weren't staying frozen in the freezer. I would order catering or hold a potluck. For the dance, we are recommended to keep the hall doors closed to maximize AC efficiency. The dance organizers bring supplemental large fans. I saw a lot of little spiderwebs in corners and along the restroom baseboards. I guess the facility isn't used or swept very often. Parking lot is shared with the library with 40 spaces. There is street parking. Hall rental rates look affordable to me. It would be nice for wedding reception dancing.
