Everything seemed really great BEFORE I had tenants, there was lots of open communication, she explained everything. I felt like we were partners. But then as soon as I had people interested in the house, I had NO INFORMATION given to me about any of the financials. I was not privy to their lease agreement, the amount of the deposit, anything. I was also not given any information about when payments would be disbursed until I reached out and asked. This didn't feel like transparency. I was finally given my first payment 12 days after tenants moved into my house. I received a very small fraction of what they paid on move in. This was expected! Expensive, but expected. What was not expected was the re-key fee that Best Life charged me. I left complete sets of keys, there was no need to charge me the rekey. This shouldn't have been a big deal, but I received nothing but defensive communication in response. No apology. She offered to remove the fee but didn't apologize, when I explained why I was frustrated she FIRED ME. That was it. I would have loved for this to be a great experience with no hidden fees--this business advertises pricing transparency--but instead, on my very first disbursement there was a hidden fee. Disappointing to say the least. ALL I NEEDED WAS AN APOLOGY, INSTEAD SHE FIRED ME. I have no idea what will happen to my poor tenants.

The current property management company over Haven Park Apartments is Princeton Property Management. The also manage The Jax, The Ava and several other locations between Portland and Washington. In the time they have been responsible for managing Haven Park I have had a maintenance technician enter my home without permission which I made complaints about a year ago that they continue to refuse to address despite my continued efforts to foster a conversation. I have been threatened to have non rent amounts that are past due sent to collections without them ever having established a time period within which such actions would be taken and no mention of being sent to collections present in my rental agreement. In prior years under their same management I've never had threats of having my accounts sent to collections despite carrying past due balances for the majority of a year. I always clear the balances and the most recent event was only 30 days old at the time I requested a conversation on the topic over 6 weeks ago. They still refuse to get in contact with me. They even refused to answer an emergency repair request that I input for over 3 weeks as they continued to dodge responsibility for these actions! I sent emails to every email address they have on file, spoke directly with Alena who confirmed receipt of the emails and stated that she forwarded the emails to corporate, left upwards of (no joke) 25 - 30 messages for them across every voicemail box they have that I can find online and they still refuse to speak with me. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE COWARDS!! Their actions border the illegal and they clearly DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR TENANTS!

However, they did send out a great maintenance person, Jerry Grow, within hours of my submitting a request about a clogged drain and non-functioning garbage disposal. Jerry diagnosed the issue and replaced the garbage disposal and unclogged the drain and was very intentional about not leaving a mess, which I really appreciated. He definitely went above and beyond and made sure I didn't have any other maintenance issues that needed to be addressed while he was there. He also gave clarifying information about an issue with the property, and how it was going to be addressed, as well as the best way for us as tenants to contact the manager. Jerry definitely gets five stars in my book.

They cannot and will not provide me with pictures of this supposed "excessive dirt" theyalso stated that after a 3 year lease mind you that there was apparently excessive "paint dammage" which i know for a fact is not true because again, pictures, videos that I took before leaving the keys on the counter as I walked out for the last time. They also can't provide picture evidence of this apparent "excessive paint dammage" they then tried to call me and tell methey were willing to give me $700 of my $3200 dollar deposit back instead of the $200 and something they originally stated was the case. Our attorney is putting the case together now and they will be dealing with him shortly. But to save yourself from the extreme headache and stress that they will cause you. Just run the other way. Rent from anyone else. They're hands down theworst managment company I've ever rented from. Im glad to have finally bought a home so I no longer have to deal with places like this.
